Children roam these empty streets
With lust filled eyes and jagged hearts
Narrow frames and crooked teeth,
The whole more valuable than each part.

And the grasp you have upon this group
Is as fragile as a pile of ash.
They know your lies and weakness
With each open hand you bluntly lash.

Oh, these soft legged girls
And hard faced boys.
They know no God,
They have no voice.

[Dallas:] So what is this I see?
There is nothing but anger
Burning inside of me

Oh, these soft legged girls
(Do you wish to feel complete?)
And hard faced boys.
(Say you want it, you need it.)
They know no God,
They have no voice.

[Repeat: x2]
We are the sound.
We don't belong.
So raise up your hands
And sing along.

Girls with fire in their eyes.
Boys with will and aim that's true
Living in a jilted world
Contempt spreads just like the flu.

So let's all take some solace
In one thing that we all can trust
Adults can be fucked up, too.
Sometimes even more than us.

Oh, these soft legged girls
(Do you wish to feel complete?)
And hard faced boys.
(Say you want it, you need it.)
They know no God,
They have no voice.

[Repeat: x2]
We are the sound.
We have no voice.

[Repeat: x2]
We are the sound.
We don't belong.
So raise up your hands
And sing along.

And sing along.

General Comment:I agree with the rallying call statement Scot.

And I personally thought that the...

    Oh, these soft legged girls
    And hard faced boys.
    They know no God,
    They have no voice.

is describing the general population of teenagers. The girls are becoming more and more loose, while the guys are becoming more and more jaded and cruel.

More and more people are claiming atheist views. And regardless of what many people say about religion, knowing of a God and an afterlife is a great hope-giver.

IN short, it's talking about the lack of feeling and hope that the world has. A rallying call,to tell us we need to change some things.

General Comment:This song... I think is about kids today that have been through so much that you couldn't even imagine it. For example maybe those who have been abused or been bullied to the extreme. They know too much for their time and they know no God as they have felt He's betrayed them. These kids want to rebel but their voice is silenced by the stereotypical society that we live in today. Trust me on this, I know how this all feels from experience.

General Comment:hahah this song reminds me a lot of where i live - all us teenagers walk aimlessly around the streets at night and during the day.

i reckon it's about a dude who used to live in this town, and then one day he goes back there to find that the teenagers have pretty much given up and gone wild. the girls don't have much pride and the guys have to constantly stay brave to not get taken down. they're basically the lost generation, and the adults are too wrapped up in their own conflicts to do anything.

but i dunno. please don't abuse me if i'm stupid :)
