Lyrics for Begin to Hope as interpreted by Tobold

Begin to Hope Lyrics
Begin to hope
And all the colors start to change beneath the light
you might forget that the worlds so sad
You might forget that things are awful bad
And it's alright

If you eat all the apples from the knowledge tree bowl
The fact that they're plastic shouldn't deter you at all
Just grab your sharpie and write your message on the wall:
"I was here, yeah, I was here."

We know that our whole world is all around us all the time
And still we might forget to stand up straight
We might forget that we should never wait
And it's alright

If we don't let the others make the last calls
The fact that they own us shouldn't deter us at all
Just grab your sharpie and write your message on the wall:
"Yeah, I was here, I was here."

I was here but now I've gone to take a walk
And I won't be back until you know my name
'Cause we're not all the same thing

Begin to hope
And it's alright

if you eat all the apples from the knowledge tree bowl
The fact that they're plastic shouldn't deter you at all
I grab my sharpie and wrote my message on the wall:
"Yeah, Regina was here."

I was here but now I've gone to take a walk
And I won't be back, 'cause its a lovely day
And none of us know how long we've got to stay

Begin to hope

Begin to hope and all the colors start to begin to start
To open all the change beneath the light
And all us start to change beneath the open
All begin to light
And all the colors begin to open
Light and change
Begin to light and hope
And start to change beneath the light
And all the colors start to change beneath
Begin to hope and all the light begin to change
Begin to hope

Jesus Christ, if you people are going to submit lyrics, learn how to spell properly first. THEY'RE is not the same as THEIR.

I think it's really more an assertion that you can create your own sense of reality without depending on someone else's rules or definitions. Thus the image of writing on a blank wall. If she's denying the idea of original sin, it's probably based on the same idea. It's pretty depressing to think that as humans we're already predestined for sin. It's really our attitude and actions that dictate whether or not we're sinful creatures.

ok ok... wow ok i've got alot to say on this... first of all WOW i've never heard this song but i want it! second it sounds like she somehow managed to steal my thoughts! when i figure out how she did that i'll try to steal hers! next this song is amazing. listen to the message she's trying to portrait and that message is different to everyone since we aren't all clones yet. i feel like this song is talking about the secret of life. everyone's searching and searching and getting frustrated when they don't find what they want, but i believe that all you need to do is actually think about what you want and stop ... STOP! focussing on the negative, evil, bad, hurtful, whatever you wanna call it, but in general its the things you don't want.

Begin to Hope and all the colours start to change beneath the light,
you might forget that the worlds so sad.
You might forget that things are awful bad,
and its alright,

right there its all right there!
if you don't see the bad then it doesn't exist to you. now if everyone where to do this then would they hear the tree falling in the woods?!?!? :) think about that and for christ sakes try and be happy people :D thank you come again :)

That's funny. I got the opposite impression from zaner. I feel this song is depicting ignoring the bad in the world as a negative thing to do; if no one acknowledges that there's a problem, how will things ever change? "Just grab your sharpie and write your message on the wall/I was here" is asking you to make a difference; don't leave without making your mark on the world.

I wish this was on the album. I don't understand, did she like name it after a song she almost put on? This is a great song.

i agree with just_old_light.
Begin to hope
And all the colors start to change beneath the light
you might forget that the worlds so sad
You might forget that things are awful bad
And it's alright

The colors of the leaves change, the seasons change, life living in the seasons changes
and we instill hope inside ourselves, that everything will continue to change, as long as we see the need for it.

@ crow heart:
there's a slightly better version on respektonline.com, the paradise lounge version.

this song is so pretty! i read an interview with her somewhere that she called the album begin to hope so that if someone saw it in a store or on a poster, people would have a little morale-booster. so it seems to me like the album came before the song?
