Begin to hope
And all the colors start to change beneath the light
you might forget that the worlds so sad
You might forget that things are awful bad
And it's alright
If you eat all the apples from the knowledge tree bowl
The fact that they're plastic shouldn't deter you at all
Just grab your sharpie and write your message on the wall:
"I was here, yeah, I was here."
We know that our whole world is all around us all the time
And still we might forget to stand up straight
We might forget that we should never wait
And it's alright
If we don't let the others make the last calls
The fact that they own us shouldn't deter us at all
Just grab your sharpie and write your message on the wall:
"Yeah, I was here, I was here."
I was here but now I've gone to take a walk
And I won't be back until you know my name
'Cause we're not all the same thing
Begin to hope
And it's alright
if you eat all the apples from the knowledge tree bowl
The fact that they're plastic shouldn't deter you at all
I grab my sharpie and wrote my message on the wall:
"Yeah, Regina was here."
I was here but now I've gone to take a walk
And I won't be back, 'cause its a lovely day
And none of us know how long we've got to stay
Begin to hope
Begin to hope and all the colors start to begin to start
To open all the change beneath the light
And all us start to change beneath the open
All begin to light
And all the colors begin to open
Light and change
Begin to light and hope
And start to change beneath the light
And all the colors start to change beneath
Begin to hope and all the light begin to change
Begin to hope
And all the colors start to change beneath the light
you might forget that the worlds so sad
You might forget that things are awful bad
And it's alright
If you eat all the apples from the knowledge tree bowl
The fact that they're plastic shouldn't deter you at all

The fact that they're plastic shouldn't deter you at all
about my last post:
i think the think that it's alright if you eat the apples from the knowledge tree bowl it's because it doesn't matter if you do some bads things making the world know that you existed.
and the line:
The fact that they're plastic shouldn't deter you at all
maybe she'ssaying that the all knowledge tree story it's a lie. and it doesn't matter if you eat the apples because they just don't exist.
" is because we are all blind to seeing what is real. if we could really see we would realize that there are plasic and if we could see then we would realize that this word is full of problems and full of sin. so if we all make a difference and "write your message on the wall" then we can change this world around and make it better.
"Just grab your sharpie and write your message on the wall:
"Yeah, I was here, I was here.""
it's about leaving our mark on the world.
i don't now if im explaining. it's about leting the people know that you existed and you where part of the world. That you WERE here. that you were alive someday and the people should know it. so regina leave us her mark with this song :)
that's why she says:
"I was here but now I've gone to take a walk
And I won't be back until you know my name
'Cause we're not all the same thing"
you don't have to give up making the people know that you were here :)
'cause we're not all the same thing. we all are diferent people and we all want to make the people know that we were here :)
:3
there's a slightly better version on respektonline.com, the paradise lounge version.
this song is so pretty! i read an interview with her somewhere that she called the album begin to hope so that if someone saw it in a store or on a poster, people would have a little morale-booster. so it seems to me like the album came before the song?
Anyway, to me this song isn't really about ignoring evil (or not ignoring it), it's about having hope and allowing yourself to believe in yourself and be happy. I guess what I'm trying to say is that I think this song is more about being yourself and here in the moment, not getting caught up in other s***. Because somehow when she says "begin to hope" I think of "begin to have hope in yourself". Maybe that's just me making the song apply to my current life situation though. :D
I hope that made a little sense haha, I'm sick and tired so my brain's not completely functioning. :)
Begin to hope
And all the colors start to change beneath the light
you might forget that the worlds so sad
You might forget that things are awful bad
And it's alright
The colors of the leaves change, the seasons change, life living in the seasons changes
and we instill hope inside ourselves, that everything will continue to change, as long as we see the need for it.
I find so nice that she mentions her name in her songs

unfortunately it's a very low quality
Begin to Hope and all the colours start to change beneath the light,
you might forget that the worlds so sad.
You might forget that things are awful bad,
and its alright,
right there its all right there!
if you don't see the bad then it doesn't exist to you. now if everyone where to do this then would they hear the tree falling in the woods?!?!? :) think about that and for christ sakes try and be happy people :D thank you come again :)
Zaner, it's almost like you managed to steal mine when you wrote that. There are these moments in her songs that just feel like they came right out of my head. Especially:
I was here but now I've gone to take a walk
And I won't be back, 'cause its a lovely day
I actually took that walk. It was just far too lovely out to spend it in an office building. My sharpie was email, but close enough. I just walked around town all afternoon. And the fact that they owned me didn't deter me at all.
And none of us know how long we've got to stay
I took that walk, too. Right after an earthquake, from the same office building. I went to see my girlfriend, because both her work and her apartment were pretty torn up. We just walked around town, and oddly enough that was also a lovely day.
There was this feeling to both of those days, and it's in this song.
There are plenty more instances of Regina stealing my thoughts. Maybe I'll start a list of them. Her words are just so lucid. I can only hope she starts writing novels someday as well.
