Lyrics for Welcome To The Black Parade as interpreted by AbsolutionAgent_gMs

Welcome To The Black Parade Lyrics
When I was a young boy
My father took me into the city
To see a marching band

He said "Son, when you grow up
Would you be the savior of the broken
The beaten and the damned?"

He said "Will you defeat them
Your demons and all the non-believers
The plans that they have made?

"Because one day I'll leave you
A phantom to lead you in the summer
To join the black parade."

When I was a young boy
My father took me into the city
To see a marching band

He said "Son, when you grow up
Would you be the savior of the broken
The beaten and the damned?"

Sometimes I get the feeling she's watching over me
And other times I feel like I should go
And through it all, the rise and fall, the bodies in the streets
And when you're gone we want you all to know

We'll carry on
We'll carry on
And though you're dead and gone believe me
Your memory will carry on
Will carry on
And in my heart I can't contain it
The anthem won't explain it

A woman sends you reeling from decimated dreams
Your misery and hate will kill us all
So paint it black and take it back
Let's shout it loud and clear
Do you fight it to the end
We hear the call
To carry on

We'll carry on
And though you're dead and gone believe me
Your memory will carry on
Will carry on
And though you're broken and defeated
Youe weary widow marches on

On and on we carry through the fears
Disappointed faces of your peers
Take a look at me 'cause I can not care at all

Do or die
You'll never make me
Because the world will never take my heart
Though they try, they'll never break me
We want it all, we wanna play this part
I won't explain or say I'm sorry
I'm not ashamed, I'm gonna show my scar
Give a cheer for all the broken
Listen here, because it's only

I'm just a man, I'm not a hero
Just a boy who's meant to sing this song
Just a man, I'm not a hero
I don't care

We'll carry on
We'll carry on
And though you're dead and gone believe me
Your memory will carry on
You'll carry on
And though you're broken and defeated
Youe weary widow marches on

Do or die
You'll never make me
Because the world will never take my heart
Though they try, they'll never break me
We want it all, we wanna play this part

Do or die
You'll never make me
Because the world will never take my heart
Though they try, they'll never break me
We want it all, we wanna play this part

And though your sitting down believe me, your memory
Will carry on, will carry on
And tell my heart I can’t contain it
The echo won’t explain it

Lets shout it loud and clear
Defiant to the end we hear the call

To carry on, we’ll carry on
And though you’re telling God believe me, your memory
Will carry on, will carry on
And though you’re walking around defeated
You’re weary little marches

On and on we carry through the fears
Awwhaha,
Guitar pointed faces of your peers
Awwhaha,
Take a look at me
Because I could not care at all

Do or die
You’ll never make me
Heres a world
that will never take my heart
from a child
You’ll never break me
I want it all
Never played this part
I won’t explain or say I’m sorry
I feel ashamed, I want to show my son
Give a chair for all the broken
Listen here, because its ___me
I’m just a man, I’m not a hero
Just a boy who never seen this side
Just a man, not a hero
I don’t care

We’ll carry on, we’ll carry on,
And though you’re telling God believe me, your memory
Will carry on, will carry on
And though you’re walking around defeated
You’re weary little marches on

We’ll carry on (X5)

I think that it might say "Encourage those smiles and expect you to fly." But, I don't know.

Also..this song is NOT Welcome To The Black Parade, as anybody who saw them perform it yesterday could tell you. They performed Welcome To The Black Parade; this is a totally different song.

ok, just to get this straight

"heres the poignant faces of you piers [?]
ooh oh ohhhh
take a look at me cos i could not care at all
do or die
you'll never make me
cos the world, will never take my heart"

the first line in that bit should be

"on and on we carry through the fears
oh oh oh
the dissapointed faces of your peers
oh oh oh
take a look at me cause I could not care at all"

this makes a lot more sense (him not giving a damn about what those above him think about his choices) than what's up there

and that goes double for the guy who thought gerard was saying "guitar pointed faces of your peers"

i think this song is about people with pain in their heart, or perhaps, someone MCR knew, because it seems to talk about a dead person. I think plans refers to suicide plans, demons, to inner demons. then it refers to, i suppose, this song, as an anthem.
"and we will send you reeling from decimated dreams
Your misery and hate will kill us all
So paint it black and take it back
Lets shout it loud and clear
do you fight it to the end
we hear the call to
to carry on
we'll carry on"
we're gonna keep on keepin on, even if every time we turn around we're met with animosity, we're still gonna live.

the thing about the chair for all the broken means that the person supports the broken. duh. it's "Disappointed faces of your peers". peers as in people similar in age, education, or social class.

overall, i think this is just a statement made by MCR that there are people who are hurting, and we're some of them, and we're reaching out to say, you're not alone.

this is my new summer anthem. Three cheers for MCR, for being there when your so-called friends turn their backs, for being there when your parents fight, for when your loved ones die, for being there like no one else can be.

also, it addresses the fact that so many people look up to Gerard Way as like a second Jesus like I did above, when it says, "I'm just a man, I'm not a hero, I'm just a boy who's meant to sing this song" It's a statement that they're just like everyone else, except they have talents and insight into how bad life can be.
