The polyester vest she wears at the arcade
On a break from tearing tickets,
Every minute spent on this old pinball machine
Saving up her money to pay her tuition
"Gto a little left over", she thinks
So she pits it in the machine
Cause she's got a high score to beat
Hey Jane, I got a little money
Wanna spend it on a night away?
We'll drive until tomorrow, drive a mile for all our sorrows
Hey Jane, I know you're hungry honey
But I promis you that things will change
Just don;t let your life's income determine your life's outcome
She had a good job that she traded for cocaine
Everyday became the same
And yesterdays were celebrated but forgotton so fast
Cause everyone around her surrounds her in excess
She's trying harder to convince herself
That all her better days are not in the past
And that this paycheck's gonna last
On a break from tearing tickets,
Every minute spent on this old pinball machine
Saving up her money to pay her tuition
"Gto a little left over", she thinks
So she pits it in the machine
Cause she's got a high score to beat
Hey Jane, I got a little money
Wanna spend it on a night away?
We'll drive until tomorrow, drive a mile for all our sorrows
Hey Jane, I know you're hungry honey
But I promis you that things will change
Just don;t let your life's income determine your life's outcome
She had a good job that she traded for cocaine
Everyday became the same
And yesterdays were celebrated but forgotton so fast
Cause everyone around her surrounds her in excess
She's trying harder to convince herself
That all her better days are not in the past
And that this paycheck's gonna last

I love this song.
My favorite lines are either "We'll drive until tomorrow, drive a mile for all our sorrows" or "Just don't let your life's income determine your life's outcome".
I've kind of liked Hot Pink better than Teenage Graffiti but this song makes me like the album a whole lot more.
I agree with GavanizedPeach, "Just don't let your life's income determine your life's outcome" is my favourite line.
'Hey Jane, I know you're hungry honey
But I promis you that things will change'
One of the best Pink Spiders, second only to teenage graffiti.
Meaning is pretty clear, but....
Jane isn't very rich, she's saving most of her money to go to school. But with what little she has left over, she plays pinball.
I love the line "Just don't let your life's income determine your life's outcome". Really nice play of words.
it reminds me alot of the wallflowers, which is not like their other music at all.
