Lyrics for Walk with me in hell as interpreted by blood_junkie

Walk with me in hell Lyrics
Pray for blood
Pray for the cleansing
Pray for the flood
Pray for end of this nightmare
This lie of a life can as quickly as it came dissolve

We seek only reprieve
And welcome the darkness
The myth of a meaning, so lost and forgotten

Take hold of my hand
For you are no longer alone
Walk with me in hell

Pray for solace
Pray for resolve
Pray for a savior
Pray for deliverance
Some kind of purpose, a glimpse of a light in this void of existence

Oh...
Now witness the end of an age
Hope dies in hands of believers
Who seek the truth in the liar's eyes

Take hold of my hand
For you are no longer alone
Walk with me in hell

Walk with me in hell
Walk with me in hell
Walk with me in hell
Walk with me in hell
Walk with me in hell

Take hold of my hand
For you are no longer alone
Walk with me in hell

Walk with me in hell
Walk with me in hell

You're never alone
You're never alone
You're never alone

You're never alone
You're never alone
Walk with me in hell

You are totally right.Metalcore is becoming an explosion.Everyone copies everyones riffs and shit.Noobody is original anymore with metalcore except for Lamb Of God and a FEW other bands.Lamb Of God was better when they were Death Metal though.

Oh god... the clanging at the end of this song adds such an amazing touch. The solo is very well done too. I don't think this album's gonna be their best (yet) but from what I've heard of it, I think it may really grow on me in time.

As for the meaning, i think it has something to do with religion...For the empty hoping and praying for the second coming of Jesus. I take it the "liar" Randy's talking about is Christianity. Just going off on a limb though...

But I don't think it has anything to do with war, cause as I remember, someone said that the album's going to stray from the usual war themes.

I think this song is about how people rely on religion, and how if religion was suddenly gone, theyre lives would fall apart. Some religions see those who dont follow religion at all, or other religions as those who will go to Hell, maybe "walk with me in Hell" means abandon religion all together?

Wow, love this song, it gives me that warm fuzzy evil feeling down inside my gut, especially that clanging at the end of the song like Mike said, maybe the sound of this song is a consequence of being on tour with slayer , ha!

Anyways, the song sounds like its about people that rely on religion, and Randy is saying that there are plenty of people out there that make it just fine without religion controlling and holding together their lives.

I think this song is about people who can't find solace in their religious beliefs. Randy is sort of playing the part of Satan (Although it could just be metaphorical), telling people to essentially embrace their dark sides, their inner evils as comfort for what religion left them with.

As he says

"You're never alone"

Because we will always have our demons to turn to.

And for pure, letting the entire album run through goodness, I gotta agree with BTP17 - Palaces is classic. I think Sacrament might be my new favourite though, sorry.

yeah Palaces was fuckin awsome , but i think the sound they have on Ashes is way more crisp and the fuckin song writing is awsome i love the content in Ashes even though its a little too political its still really powerful and fuckin hardhitting.

I can agree with what has been said, but the thing about hell is that it is a common used metaphor for anywhere that someone truly loathes (like me and my highschool). The rest of the lyrics dont really apply the metaphor though so im probly wrong about it being a metaphor for some bad place and finding someone to walk it with.

I haven't heard much of as the palaces burn but ashes of the wake is an amazing album, and sacrament i think is just as good as ashes.

by the way, does anyone get the same rush I get at the verse "the myth of a meaning so lost and forgotten"?

hmm i think the hell he's talking about is life itself.. not hell as in the hell you go to after you die. but he's saying that life on earth has become so ugly that it's equvilant to hell..
"The myth of a meaning, so lost and forgotten"
we often believe that life does have a meaning, but he's suggesting that it probably doesn't, that the phrase "life has a meaning" is just a myth.. and if it ever did have some meaning, it was lost a long time ago. but people still do look for a purpose- "Some kind of purpose, a glimpse of a light in this void of existence".

"Hope dies in hands of believers
Who seek the truth in the liar's eyes"

Those who believe in big things (such as religion) really do it to satisfy their need for some answers, so they think they find the Truth in religion or whatever it might be.. but really it's all a lie.
"witness the end of an age".

I think it is about how shitty everything is becoming and how world events seem to be building to some kind of climax.

Walk with me in Hell sounds alot like rehab. I know Randy Blythe was dealing with alcoholism and perhaps this song is about finding someone to confide in during difficult times.

Ok, so the person who said it addresses the destruction of codependency, do you know what that means?

Taking that idea it does make a lot of sense though

Take Hold Of My Hand
For You Are No Longer Alone
Walk With Me In Hell

I always thought those first two lines were almost hopeful, but thinking about it, it could be saying that relying on someone else is like hell. If you get my drift.

I think this song is about how people go and rely on any religion. they dont go out and try to find there religion they just go out and grab whatever one is there and seems to be the awnsers of there problems.

This is almost too good to be true!
You've obviously not read the statement on LoG's O-F-F-I-C-I-A-L site where they've written: "...Walk With Me In Hell' addresses the destruction of codependency...". Sounds pretty much like the "destruciton of codependency" is the subject of the song.

As written by ASnowCappedRomance, 2: "I always thought those first two lines were almost hopeful, but thinking about it, it could be saying that relying on someone else is like hell. If you get my drift."

Also sounds pretty much like codependency to me.

ALL PROBLEMS SOLVED!

I reckon this song could have a much simpler reason.
I think theyre trying to say that your not alone when you die, like alot of peoples perception of the afterlife is, and that in hell there is someone to hold your hand.
