It is somewhat strange to say "I'm gonna find another you" or that "i hope she looks like you" if one is trying to completely let go of a previous partner. However maybe Mayer is saying he better understands what he wants in a significant other and will hopefully find someone who will appreciate his love.

Basically a guy was in a relationship with a girl and the relationship was superficial. He thought she was very pretty and almost only stayed with her because of who she was in the outside, even though she treated him like crap. Then she breaks up with him and at first he feels lost, and he says "you got me crying" but then he realizes that he is free and he can do whatever he wants. He's free to go find someone better. He's free to, as he says "do some things you wouldn't let me do." He's free to find someone who loves him and treats him right, someone who is beautiful on both the inside and outside.
This song is almost exactly how I feel after breaking up with my girlfriend. When we were together, she was perfect in my eyes. She could do no wrong. Now that she broke up with me, I can see that she was really kind of a bitch and I deserve better and I'm going to find better.

But I'd like to point out some of the incorrect lyrics on here.
It's not "As well as you planned" it's "As was your plan"
And its not "And if I'm false to find another" but rather "And if I'm forced to find another"
I have no idea what it means.. :'(
my girlfriend broke up with me and basically forgot about me
but hearing this song puts the biggest grin on my face everytime. This is like the magic cure to heartbreak
of course right after the song is over i go back to being sad hahaha
