Lyrics for Call Me When You're Sober as interpreted by LaDiablo

Call Me When You're Sober Lyrics
Don’t cry to me
If you loved me
You would be here with me
You want me
Come find me
Make up your mind

Should I let you fall
And lose it all
So maybe you can remember yourself
Can’t keep believing
We’re only deceiving
Ourselves and I’m sick of the lie
And you’re too late

So don’t cry to me
If you loved me
You would be here with me
You want me
Come find me
Make up your mind

Couldn’t take the blame
Sick with shame
Must be exhausting to loose your own game
Selfishly hated
No wonder you’re jaded
You can’t play the victim this time
And you’re too late

So don’t cry to me
If you loved me
You would be here with me
You want me
Come find me
Make up your mind

You never call me when you’re sober
You only want it ‘cause it’s over
It’s over

How could I
Have burned paradise?
How could I?
You were never mine

So don’t cry to me
If you loved me
You would be here with me
Don’t lie to me
Just get your things
I’ve made up your mind

Wow, Amy Lee is sooo pretty. And so is that little unsober boy of hers...oh my. Were his eyes supposed to look like wolf eyes?

I like the whole idea of this song, you know, "If you really loved me, sugar, you would chose me over drinking. And you only want me because I'm not available, that's why you only call when you're friggin drunk." Because too many girls let guys walk all over them because they can magically say, "I loooove you," when they're drunk. Those girls need a song saying, "Sweetheart, it's hurting both of you, go find a guy who can say 'I love you' anytime, any place."

Rock on, Evanescence! Even IF this song isn't my...favorite...

Amy really should smile more, shouldn't she? Poor doll. She's really quite pretty when she smiles, like at the end of the video.

It's "Should I" and not "Should've".

I can see why old fans/listeners of Evanescence would be disapointed for this becasue of it's poppie nature. And in way you're all right. But you have to bear in mind that sometimes pop is also noice (thuse = popular...) it just depends of what kind. And you can't forget that Evanescence always had a pop oriented songs. They don't deny it, and they don't attempt (to my opinion) to claim their a hard-rock band with a goth attitude. I know that almost all the people think like that and believe in it, and that's exactly what Wind-Up records (their label) wants you to think in oreder to sell. But the band members itself aren't really ongoing with that. It's not their direction, but we can't blame them for doing so. Still this album is a bit more interesting and artistic, wheter you'd like it or not, and this is why most of the songs don't sound as good. Though I also believe they could have done a better, progressive-alternative (like their earlier work pointed out while on Big-Wig), job with all the time they had. But we all know that Wind-Up suck at that 'cuz they're from the Sony co-operative, that only want to sell. None the less this song is a big change, and it's so obvious that it's the first single since it is so approacheble for the avarage ear. Even if it says, supposedly that Amy said she wanted it to be the first one, we all know the truth... Besides, Call Me When You're Sober is cool for it's dramatic vibe. The video sucks though... Where's the great work of Philp Stolzel? :(
It's so obvious that it's a publicity stunt that the song airs right before Shaun Morgan goes or rehab and then speaks his mind about the song... So lame... So childlike... So mainstream... So sad that Evanescence are doing this. We know that, amy, you have it in you to leave the label and become a full grown artist! live for your art... Don't sell yourself, although this whole niche relayes on the thin line between supposebly mature Metal (in which I perosnlly don't like that direction in The Open Door) and pop-rock music...

Yeah it's about Shaun Morgan. If he makes them famous, then okay lol.
I am a bigger Seether fan anyway. Their selling more than Evanescence anyway.

I don't see why everyone goes crazy because the first single isn't exactly like the last album. Every artist changes from album to album. I write music, myself, and the type of lyrics I wrote 2 years ago are way different than what I write now. Things change in life, and that is expressed in artisitic work. I really like the new Evanescence sound. I like the new sound for different reasons than I like the old sound. I really like how empowering this song is.

Anyone think this song is a little too poppy? Based on previous songs.
And anyone else think Amy Lee's voice sounds like Kelly Clarkson? Not saying anything bad, they both have great voices.

I don't really think she sounds like Kelly; I actually think she has quite a distinctive voice. I'm surprised that so many people are disappointed with this song, although I understand the point, that it's pretty straightforward and all. But my interpretation is that she just wanted to say exactly what she was thinking without beating around the bush or being *cryptic* with the lyrics. I feel *proud* of her for that, haha. She seems like a strong woman and if she's really not, then she covers that up pretty well with her strong voice. Sing it, girl!!! :)

Yes this song is about Shaun Morgan.

No, Amy isn't saying "fuck you" or anything like that. She feels sorry for him and wants him to become sober. She said that on VH1.

this song is amazing. even though some people are putting it down, i love it. i think it's good that bands change their genre a little bit to open themselves to more people and fans. people shouldn't be saying "oh, well it's not like the stuff on Fallen.." becuase if it was supposed to be on Fallen, that's where they would have put it. This is off "The Open Door' and that music will probably be different from Fallen. it's just monotonous if bands like EV stay to one kind of music for ever. nobody ever talks about thier album Origin, and Fallen was definately different from Origin. TOD. will be just so.

god. its not that I'm going to hate them now, and yes, bands DO change, but all I tried to say was that they changed for the worst (in my opinion). and Wakeboard_Snufkin, you're so right..

the point is that I dont like the new "we want to sell, and we'll do whatever needed in order to sell, even pull publicity stunts and make our music crappy pop" attitude.

go listen to some real music people.
cus Evanescence USED to be real.

I need to buy the new album. as for meaning, I agree withfun2arguewithu!

i got chills when they played this song on conan just now. i knew they were coming out with new stuff but i hadn't heard anything yet. wow. it describes how i feel right now perfectly...

"if you loved me, you would be here with me
you want me? come find me,"

awesome.

as for whether their sound has changed or not, hearing it live, it didn't sound way too different to me, but i'll wait until i hear the studio version...as it stands, it's just good to hear some new evanescence :q

in my opinion it's not the best on the album; but don't worry, there's songs that still reveal old evanescence-yness: Lithium, Snow White Queen, Lose Control, Good Enough, and the bonus track All That I'm Living For.
those are my favourites. otherwise, i love the album, but i can't really say it's better than fallen.
amy and terry did a good job without ben though. even though i kind of miss his writing...*reminisces to My Immortal*

An utterly catchy song with an 'in your face' definition.

At first I really didn't get the grip of this song at all - it sounded so.. poppy. I was still bummed out about the Ben Moody leaving the band, and pretty much didn't see Evanescence seeing the light as bright as it were back then when Amy was still in the band with Moody.

But I guess this song is a change from their past materials, very catchy. That's why I'm listening to it right now.

As for the vid.. well, I normally love Evanescence's videos, but... this one's just trully hilarious [for me] + the guy is actually hott! ^^ lol!

But it's just me I guess.

Fuck Amy Lee and fuck her shitty band. Seether is about a million times better then this shit. Shaun Morgan is a better songwriter then Lee as well. Way better. Morgan has more talent then Lee could ever hope to have. Can't fucking wait til spring when the new Seether is out. With this shit and the loss of Pat Callahan they'll be motivated to make a classic. It's gonna be amazing.

It about Shaun.

Basically she's saying he would come to her with his problems when he was drunk, or whatever. She's saying that until he gets his problem under control, to not come to her.

Wow. I didn't like Evanescence when they first came out. I gotta say, this song is AMAZING. Very powerful guitars and vocals. Amy's got a really good voice; she and Christina Aguilera, in my opinion, have the best female voices in the industry. I never thought I'd consider getting an Evanescence album! =].
