Lyrics for Call Me When You're Sober as interpreted by LaDiablo

Call Me When You're Sober Lyrics
Don’t cry to me
If you loved me
You would be here with me
You want me
Come find me
Make up your mind

Should I let you fall
And lose it all
So maybe you can remember yourself
Can’t keep believing
We’re only deceiving
Ourselves and I’m sick of the lie
And you’re too late

So don’t cry to me
If you loved me
You would be here with me
You want me
Come find me
Make up your mind

Couldn’t take the blame
Sick with shame
Must be exhausting to loose your own game
Selfishly hated
No wonder you’re jaded
You can’t play the victim this time
And you’re too late

So don’t cry to me
If you loved me
You would be here with me
You want me
Come find me
Make up your mind

You never call me when you’re sober
You only want it ‘cause it’s over
It’s over

How could I
Have burned paradise?
How could I?
You were never mine

So don’t cry to me
If you loved me
You would be here with me
Don’t lie to me
Just get your things
I’ve made up your mind

Great song?!?!! WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU SERIOUS?! have you ever listened to their old stuff? oh no? "better themselves"? if you listened to their old stuff, you'd never say that.... haha.. this song is a shitty pop song in comparison to their old stuff.. let me tell you something.. I loved Evanescence, I used to be obssesed with them.. I loved them for so long and Ive known them for many many years.. they used to be really unique.. and their music is, dont get me wrong, amazing..but this.. this is shit.. now, they're all about the success, like 99% of the bands today... this song=pop okay. How can you even call this rock?

I like how people claim to be fans but turn on a band when one song, which seems out of character for that band,is released.Clearly you are not a fan of that particular band than.Same thing happened to In Flames with their song The Quiet Place."Fans" claimed it was Nu-Metal and turned on them.

Grow up.Bands change with the times. It's called longevity.

yeah, it's different.
Amy sounds like a country singer.
the lyrics aren't well thought out. I loved the poetic vagueness of their lyrics before...how can you not?
um...the sound is okay. The trademark piano intro wasn't working in this song, for me.
I thought the dancers in the video were disturbing.
the guy that played the ex was hot, though.
and I totally agree with the person that said that they should rerelease their older songs. It's actually their older songs that give them justice.
Oh well,
can't wait for october 3, so I can hear some real songs.

Okay, this song pales in comparison to Evanescence and their old stuff. I heard it for the first time on the radio about mid way through it and I had to listen REALLY hard to know it was evanescence. She really does sound like a country singer. The album hopefully has more of their old style type music.

Different from Evanescence's usual stuff, but for the love of all that is evil, when did trying something different mean they were doing something wrong?!?

Trivium made Dying In Your Arms, which fans branded as a 'Radio' song and said was a piece of sh!t. Whenever they played it live, BOOM the ceiling flew off though! It got the crowd going almost as much as pull harder on the strings of your martyr!

This song will draw in people who don't usually like evanescences music, they will listen to their other stuff, decide they like it and BOOM, Evanescence has more fans.

Personally I like this song, not their best but still very good.

I love this song....for personal reasons. It speaks for me in words I could never say. But the whole 'you never call me when you're sober' part doesn't really apply to me...but the concept as a whole I think is very straightforward...I just want to make someone specific listen to it heh....

Has anyone noticed "little red riding hood"??? It is ironic because she is in this innocent red hood petting the wolves around her. I really don't follow her or pretty much any kind of musician news, but what I get from the video is that she has made peace with what was "after" her and has even taken the upper hand in the situation. Also, at one point she sheds the cape, stands on the table, and hushes the man who seemed to be in control of everything. I know it's been said...but I get the kind of strength and control I got from "Fighter". I also think Amy still does have that "haunting" voice...just with a different style of music in the background.

I loved the song and the music video. The little red riding hood thing was great too. Oliver Goodwill is hot! I'm serious, he has great eyes. People are calling him Wolfie all over the place. I like people with pretty eyes!!!

So, I just read all the replies to this. I agree and disagree with some things.
I never thought about it, but now that someone brought it up, she does sound like a country singer. I still think it matches the song's sound very well.
I got the whole "Everybody" by the Backstreet Boys feeling from the video too.
Did it bother anyone else that Amy looked at the camera almost constantly in the video?
This is a totally different sound for Evanescence, and Amy does sound different. I quite like the song, actually. The video needs some work, though, in my opinion.
I did disagree with the fact that someone said it was "pop".... perhaps, but all Evanescence music is to a certain extent. It is "pop influenced rock". Just a matter of opinion, it's what I think.
The lyrics are very straightforward, but that's kinda nice too. I remember in grade 9 English I puzzled for a few days on what "Going Under"s meaning was for a poetry project. And that was one of the easier ones to pick apart.
Anyway, I think this is probably the longest post here, so I'll wrap it up.

i like this song. it makes me feel better about the split with amy and shaun... i cried when i found out they broke up. hey, it ain't going under, but it's evanescence and it really displays amy's earth shattering voice. um... yeah, it's about substance abuse. or something like that. idk. i view it as someone letting go of a draining love. i can really relate to it in so many ways, it has a great feeling of being pissed off at the world and just screaming, "hell with you all! i'm not dealing with this shit." and about the singing lessons comment? amy had it in her all along, she just never released the power. this song is all bluesy and upbeat and fallen was darker and more acidic. you really can't belt out dark music, you just have to sort of have to have a really torn sound. this was just determined. i pledge my allegiance to evanescence, no matter what they do. but i am a little pissed that they're on i tunes now and they have all this publicity going on with the press and mtv. putting amy, the girl i practically worship, next to pissy hurlton (paris hilton) is a major insult. oh, well. maybe those pop star fans will grow brains and realize that metal (even happy metal) is life.

yeah, I have to say putting a band as great as Evanescence next to the woman who made the Guiness World Book of Records for Most Overrated Celebrity is an insult. But hey, it gets the new stuff out there, I guess, for all those people looking for the Most Overrated Celebrity of the year.

hmmmm...... when i first heard this i was alittle disappointed, i thought uhh... where did my deep, emotional evanescence go this to me is alittle bit too mainstream kinda saddens me i hope the whole new record isn't like the first single i adore amy's outfits in the video though i'm a long time evanescence fan and since all the drama with the band members iI've grown apart from their new music

I think this was a bit of a let down. I love Evanescence for the poetic lyrics and beautiful voice, but they're changing to fit in, I guess. Its still a good song, though. Just...not as good as I thought it would be.

"I notice she used the lyrics "if you want me, come find me" from the breathtaking "Anything for You." I wish she would re-release some of her older songs. They deserve credit."

i agree. evanescence songs are getting worse.
i miss david hodges =(
when david hodges and kelly clarkson broke up, it improved kelly clarkson's music. but with amy and shaun, i think it's the other way around.

Amy and Shaun's breakup would have nothing to do with the music's quality, they weren't even dating until post-Fallen.

dissapointing for begining but i won't judge soon. the first single must'nt be the best track of an album. after ben's departure i always worried about their next album but as i said i'm hopeful.

I have actually heard the new album. It leaked a while ago. Don't look for it now, it's gone. It sounded amazing. It's still dark Evanescence, and though the lyrics are more literal, they are still, well... amazing!! I adore the new album. Call Me When You're Sober really stands out from the rest of the album, it's much more bluesy. The only reason it was released was because of the album leak, not for publicity.

Evanescence probably sounds so different now not for popularity, but because new people are writing the songs. Before it was Amy, Ben, and David. Now it's mostly Amy and Terry. Also, they're writing has always reflected music they loved all put together. That's basically what they're music is. It's rock, pop, blues, classical, and opera all mixed together. Some songs have certain elements in them that stand out, like blues in this one. You can't really judge Evanescence by one song, all they're songs are so diffrerent.

I honestly Love this song... and yes they had some good songs on Fallen and no I haven't listened to all of their new album. "Call me when your sober" I feel is one of their best songs!!! Her voice has matured so much I feel and it's incredible. On Fallen all of the songs sounded so much a like and I just think is is a good thing for them to do something different!!

"PS- The video makes me laugh because it's like a hodgepodge of 3 older videos: My Chemical Romance's "Helena" (dancy girls in black?); Within Temptation's "Running Up that Hill" (floaty Amy in flowy dress?); and (get this) Backstreet Boy's "Everybody" (er...don't know why)." I have to agree w/tikal24 on the whole modgepodge of past video reminders... I also wanted to comment that the guy in the video is very uh... attractive looking...

I have to say I'm not a huge Evanescence fan or anything, and I don't know much about their music or themselves. However, my ears really perked up when I first heard this song. It even reminded me of someone I know.

Have to say this song caught on me REALLY fast. I used to (and don't hate me for saying this) not be a fan of Evanescence... at all. But this song has really gotten me into them... The tune is catchy, and although she is singing about another one of my favorite singers, I really love the lyrics.

Amy looks absolutely gorgeous in the video, as well. Makes me wish I could get my makeup to look like that :P
