Lyrics for Call Me When You're Sober as interpreted by LaDiablo

Call Me When You're Sober Lyrics
Don’t cry to me
If you loved me
You would be here with me
You want me
Come find me
Make up your mind

Should I let you fall
And lose it all
So maybe you can remember yourself
Can’t keep believing
We’re only deceiving
Ourselves and I’m sick of the lie
And you’re too late

So don’t cry to me
If you loved me
You would be here with me
You want me
Come find me
Make up your mind

Couldn’t take the blame
Sick with shame
Must be exhausting to loose your own game
Selfishly hated
No wonder you’re jaded
You can’t play the victim this time
And you’re too late

So don’t cry to me
If you loved me
You would be here with me
You want me
Come find me
Make up your mind

You never call me when you’re sober
You only want it ‘cause it’s over
It’s over

How could I
Have burned paradise?
How could I?
You were never mine

So don’t cry to me
If you loved me
You would be here with me
Don’t lie to me
Just get your things
I’ve made up your mind

I love the song. I agree with everyone who has said this is a straightforward song. It is just talking about her lover betraying her. At least, I see it that way, then he wants to complain, and she's basically saying, if you loved me, then you'd be here with me, and you only call me when your drunk.

Well obviously a straightforward song. Not a bad song either and I have to say that her voice sounds wonderful. However... I still much prefer their older songs... it's a bit of a let down. I won't judge an entire album by its song though! (Besides, Bring Me to Life wasn't very representative of Fallen.)

PS- The video makes me laugh because it's like a hodgepodge of 3 older videos: My Chemical Romance's "Helena" (dancy girls in black?); Within Temptation's "Running Up that Hill" (floaty Amy in flowy dress?); and (get this) Backstreet Boy's "Everybody" (er...don't know why).

I'll stop babbling now. I'll just mention that I'm not trying to bash the song/video... just giving an opinion. It is a catchy song.

I would like to start off by saying I really love this song.

When I first heard the song on mtv, I was a little surprised. I had missed the first few seconds when they name the artist and song title so I wasn't sure if it was evanescence or not. It sounded like Amy and sorta looked like Amy but the style was like O.o.

It's not the fact that the lyrics are straight forward that bugs me, but the fact that is has a sort of a "bluesy" sound. Though I'm a fan of R&B, the sound doesn't seem the match Evanescence. But never-the-less I still favour this song.

And yes, it does kind of sound like "Fighter" by Christina Aguilara. xD

it is obvious that this is about her ex, the singer from Seether, about how he was in rehab and this song came out when he got out..i guess it is a good way for her to say "forget you"

it really shows what a strong women she is...and she does not need him to be succesful

but yea, the vid is alright. i think the part where her and the dancers float in the air was a bit oldfashion and cheep, but all in all it was not so bad.

i love the guy who is supposed to paly her ex...fucking hot!!^-^

I love the music video for this. I didn't think the dancers looked cheap at all, it was actually pretty cool. And I liked the wolves.

I think the song is great, it has all the Evanescence sound to it, with a little more soul and more straightforward lyrics so you're not wondering what the song's about, like how it is with other Evanescence songs. I think they're a great band and will continue to make good music. The video is awesome too. The wolves were pretty cool, and the dancers were a bit different, but I like it. And I'm not even gonna lie, the guy in the video was fucking hot.

AWESOME!

Music is a bit heavier. Lyrics are a bit more straightforward, Amy sounds AMAZING as usual.
And the video is cool!! What more could you ask for?

YAY! They're back! The new album drops on my birthday, WOOT WOOT.

It's a little bit disappointing. Amy's voice doesn't sound as original (haunting, pure?) in this song because the song is pretty straight forward and doesn't really sound like Evanescence. But hey, what do I know. It's a good song. Just different.

i don't know.. i loved the rawness of the fallen album. quite frankly, this doesnt really cut it for me. I love the darkness of her voice. now it sounds so... generic.

I like it. It's different from their old stuff, which I think is good. It would be boring to get the same sounding music from them over and over.

I think it sounds good, even though really straight forward. It's still got that evanescence sound to it, though changed, and it still sounds amazing.

The video was okay. It could've been better, though.

*laughs* That's not to say they SOUND like the Backstreet Boys (that would be quite bizarre haha)... the video just gave me the same vibe as that old "Everybody" video did. XD

this song is growing on me, its been forever since i heard a new ev song i had such high hopes for something dark and cryptic. but this song makes sense, Ben isn't writing anymore and the rest of the band has changed a lot so it isn't so surprising that the music is different. can't wait for the rest of the songs...

I happen to think this ia a good song.So they changed their sound a bit.Big deal. It's only one song so far.Who's to say how the others are put together.Either way,Amy sounds terrific as usual.

As for the song itself,it was written by Amy about ex-boyfriend
Shaun Morgan, from Seether, about his drinking/drug use and rehab.

This song definatly takes some getting used to, simply because it's so different from Evanescence's usual song. Its still a good song but fans of the band might not like it at first. Its a little more repetative with a more catchy beat. BTW, I thought it was "you can't *blame the victim this time- though I could be wrong, this is the only hard copy of the lyrics I've seen.
Anyway, great song, and I'm looking foward to the rest of the album (October 3rd!!)

Not every song an artist produces is going to be hidden meanings and such, so it's kind of refreshing to hear something so straight forward from Evanescence. I think the instrumentals are ingenious in this song. :) I just wish Amy Lee wasn't so egocentric when it comes to the band...

When I heard this on their website, I played this track until my mother dragged me out the house and to the store. I repeated it at least 10 times. This song is great and I can't wait for the new album!

The album isn't gonna all sound like this. They say that it's mostly based on 'vampire movies and spooky moods'. Not that, of course, they're singing about Van Helsing...

This is Evanescence Who cares, if they're not Identical and to their last album? Artists are always trying to better themselves and embrace change, and that's exactly what they're doing. This song is getting them a lot of new fans. It's a GREAT SONG. And It has sentimental Value and a purpose to it. So STFU. Seriously SHUT-UP. It's Amy Lee now, get over it.
