remove a bullet from my head
extracting over confidence
hidden so easy to pretend
too bad the rush was found again

i can see the pictures on the floor
sketches of what was there before
three came from one little seed
the last one is all i need

i can hear the bottle on the ground
we turned the corner safe and sound
no thought of him as it was done
a clean execution
a clean execution

cool like the ocean
burned like a summer home
fooled by the notion
that the sums don't add up at all

there’s the line that is leading clearly feeding all
the things I don’t believe in but i’ll step in once
again
cut in line to get closer to the source of all the
things I’ll never belong to
step it up and sign right in again

cool like the ocean
burned like a summer home
fooled by the notion
that the sums don't add up at all

cool like the ocean
burned like a summer home
fooled by the notion
that the sums don't add up at all
that the sums never add up at all
that the sums don't add up at all...

Song Meaning:This song is about the 3 strikes law in California. The law is once you've been convicted of three serious criminal offenses, you get a life sentence. The lyrics pertain to people who make mistakes, get caught up in the wrong crowd, and their past ends them up in jail for life.

"i can hear the bottle on the ground
we turned the corner safe and sound
no thought of him as it was done
    a clean execution"

These lyrics play on the fact that you end up at the wrong place at the wrong time, you can get life even though you've cleaned up. People always make references to "bad seeds". The law says it takes three to weed them out for good.

Song Meaning:Brian Aubert, the lead singer explained the lyrics in an interview at joonbug.com/national/frequency/Brian-Aubert-Speaks-Up-About-Silversun-Pickups/… . This is one of my favorite songs of all time and I was very curious what it meant too.

"David – The first time I heard Silversun Pickups was on MySpace with the song “Three Seed,” and I was hooked as a fan. What’s the meaning behind that song?

Brian – “Three Seed” is about repeating patterns and its funny cause it has come up a lot lately. We got to rehearse that thing because people have been asking for it a lot. It's one of my favorite songs from Carnavas (2006). But yeah it is about repeating patterns and having three completely different situations that as obtuse as they were from each other they almost shared a singular path. The three seed in that song actually refers to one of the people involved in that song and she is a triplet."

General Comment:This is what i love about amazing song writing. The lyrics potray different points of view by leaving out alot of aspect to any particular plot. Instead it just uses similar subject matter to structure the over all feeling of the event.

By doing this the reader is required to fill in the blanks. Even when he wrote it the song might've been about a certain story but after he breaks the story down in to no specific primary detail, it becomes many stories. You know how a pictures worth a thousand words? Well a incredibly written song is worth a whole lot more.

Just a little food for thought o(^.^)o

General Comment:The lines: "I can hear the bottle on the ground. We turned the corner safe and sound. No thought of him as it was done. A clean execution." kinda reminds me of some random street violence that took the life of their friend. I'm thinking a drive-by situation. Beats me.

General Comment:To add, Addiction creates many feelings of guilt, hopelessness, betrayal, low self esteem, desperation, etc.

General Comment:I'm pretty sure this song is about the struggles of drug addiction most likely heroin.

"Remove the bullet from my head"
"Extract an over confidence" Over confidence is a very common precurser to a relapse
    "Hidden, so easy to pretend"
"TO BAD THE RUSH WAS FOUND AGAIN" - Rush from shooting Heroin

"No thought of him as it was done" Referring to the the drugs apathy to the users well being
"CLEAN EXECUTION" Relapse ie lose of CLEAN Time

Plus the title "Three Seed" seems to easily be a reference to Poppy Seed from which Opium, Morphine, and Heroin are derived.

I really love this band and it seems Brian or someone or someones that he has know have had quite a struggle with drug addiction. Being someone who has gone through this myself, I hope he has freed himself of his demons. Beautiful Music non -the -less and people are to get what ever meaning they want or relate to from the lyrics and songs, which is why Brian does not discuss his song meanings.

General Comment:I think it is just about divorce. He remembers how it was, but he and his husband/wife fight a lot at home, not thinking about their children, just fighting (no thought of him as it was done, refers to divorcing but not thinking about their son). Then he thinks how it used to be: cool like the ocean, burned like a summer home (this might refer to their passion on their vacations together). A very sad song about how things pass away.

General Comment:This song is about three homisides all connected somehow.
the first is a suicide which he explains in the first sex of verses. The second i belive is after the reminance of a domestic assault or a couple fighting....
the third is an assasination when one charecter and another move safly away from the target "we turned the corner safe and sound".
but during all of this the strange notion of two emotions, curiosoty and "numbness"/ uncaring for what has happend.
the curiosity is durived when the narrator is talking about how none of the inccedents discribed show no connection but for some reason we are told that this all will happen again
"the things I don’t believe in but i’ll step in once
    again
cut in line to get closer to the source of all the
    things I’ll never belong to
step it up and sign right in again".
the uncaring is from the constant bluntness and from the notion.
"the things I don’t believe in but i’ll step in once
    again
cut in line to get closer to the source of all the
    things I’ll never belong to
step it up and sign right in again"

but all three homicides were caused by one inccedent and the last one has yet to come .

three came from one little seed
the last one is all i need

General Comment:to me, there is no sure way to understand or completely interpret the thoughts going through the head of the songwriter at the time of writing the lyrics...Im the kind of person that constantly thinks about what songs mean, however although many songs point to something easy for us to see, songs like this show us that simply charm us, and for me its almost best not to know the meaning...and to simply enjoy the wonder and beauty....but thats just me
