Been up all night staring at you
Wondering what's on your mind
I've been this way with so many before
But this feels like the first time
And you want the sunrise to go back to bed
And I want to make you laugh
Mess up my bed with me
Kick off the covers I'm waiting
Every word you say I think
I should write down
Don't want to forget come daylight
Happy to lay here
Just happy to be here
I'm happy to know you
Play me a song
Your newest one
Please leave your taste on my tongue
Paperweight on my back
Cover me like a blanket
Mess up my bed with me
Kick off the covers I'm waiting
Every word you say I think
I should write down
Don't want to forget come daylight
And no need to worry
That's wastin' time
And no need to wonder
What's been on my mind
It's you
It's you
It's you
Every word you say I think
I should write down
Don't want to forget come daylight
And I give up
I let you win
You win cause I'm not counting
You made it back
To sleep again
Wonder what you're dreaming

"just happy to be here i'm happy to know you"

It's amazing when you meet someone who's presence alone can make you happy. And, take it from me, it can hurt a lot if that person walks away

this song is love. everything about it is love, and not first high school love...but love "i've been this way with so many before but this feels like the first time" it makes you remember that one person that made you feel that way and you can't help but smile..."please leave your taste on my tongue"

i posted the same thing on schuylers page for this song...but its currently my favorite song. i absolutely love it. the beauty of the lyrics is wonderful. its self explainatory..these two people are absolutely in love with each other...just being together makes them happy. "and no need to wonder what's been on my mind it's you it's you" i love that line...because its so true when youre in love with someone...and thats why i like this song so much-its so real.

I love this song. It's amazing. "happy to lay here. just happy to be here. i'm happy to know you." might just be some of my favorite lyrics ever. So simple, so sweet, so beautiful.

Light Up The Sky
Van Halen
The song lyrics were written by the band Van Halen, as they were asked to write a song for the 1979 movie "Over the Edge" starring Matt Dillon. The movie (and the lyrics, although more obliquely) are about bored, rebellious youth with nothing better to do than get into trouble. If you see the movie, these lyrics will make more sense. It's a great movie if you grew up in the 70s/80s you'll definitely remember some of these characters from your own life. Fun fact, after writing the song, Van Halen decided not to let the movie use it.

Standing On The Edge Of Summer
Thursday
In regards to the meaning of this song: Before a live performance on the EP Five Stories Falling, Geoff states “It’s about the last time I went to visit my grandmother in Columbus, and I saw that she was dying and it was the last time I was going to see her. It is about realizing how young you are, but how quickly you can go.” That’s the thing about Geoff and his sublime poetry, you think it’s about one thing, but really it’s about something entirely different. But the lyrics are still universal and omnipresent, ubiquitous, even. So relatable. That’s one thing I love about this band. I also love their live performances, raw energy and Geoff’s beautiful, imperfectly perfect vocals. His voice soothes my aching soul.

This is a sequel to 2001's "Reckless Abandon", and features the band looking back on their clumsy youth fondly.

Punchline
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran sings about missing his former partner and learning important life lessons in the process on “Punchline.” This track tells a story of battling to get rid of emotions for a former lover, whom he now realized might not have loved him the same way. He’s now caught between accepting that fact and learning life lessons from it and going back to beg her for another chance.
