Freedom's just a word today, freedom's just a word
When someone takes your word away, it's seldom ever heard
So take a sentence full of things you're not supposed to say
Carry on, but don't write 'em down, or you'll be gone

Love is just a song today, love is just a song
When someone takes the song away, you seldom sing along
So take those lyrics serious and sing your life away
Carry on, but don't write 'em down, or they'll be gone

All we ever do is talk; we like to ride, but we never walk
We make it so damn easy, we get bored
Why can't anybody see, what's good for you is good for me?
I can't take your silly world
I can't take your silly world no more

Peace is just two fingers now, peace was just a face
When someone put it on a shirt, you knew to count the days
So take those fingers, tape 'em up, and shove 'em up your ass
And carry on, but don't try it now, 'cause peace is gone

All we ever do is talk; we like to ride, but we never walk
We make it so damn easy, we get bored
Why can't anybody see, what's good for you is good for me?
I can't take your silly world
I can't take your silly world no more

We fight our instincts
We go to extremes
We fight our instincts
We go to extremes

We fight our lives
We fight our lives
We fight our lives
We fight our lives
We fight our lives
We fight our lives
We fight our lives
We fight our

We fight our lives
We fight our lives
We fight our lives
We fight our lives
We fight our lives
We fight our lives

My Interpretation:I think this song is about how ridiculous political correctness has gotten and how freedom of speech is almost a memory

My Interpretation:I'm a little late but I just heard this song for the first time but it's powerful. I was looking down when I had it playing on YouTube but as soon as it started, I stopped what I was doing and looked up immediately. What I got from it is that it's about the bastardization of ideologies. Things that once held value have become hollow and meaningless. The ideas have just become words and words are powerless with no meaning behind them. Freedom, Love, Peace are no longer ideas but merely words taken for granted and undervalued. Cheap. Just my thoughts.

General Comment:I think one of the many interpretations of this song, and this is my opinion, is that Corey is saying that the world is a place where people try to tell you how to live, what to believe in, and what to do. But it is just as easy to live your own life and do what you want so hes telling someone he doesnt want to be apart of their sillyword

Song Meaning:I am going to break down my interpretation of this song, part by part, so here it goes...

    Freedom's just a word today
    Freedom's just a word
When someone takes your word away
    It's seldom ever heard
So take your sentence full of things you're not supposed to say
and carry on but don't write it down or you'll be gone

Freedom is just a word. Protect your freedom, rights.. war for freedom... Nothing is free. He knows this. The government is taking over many aspects of our lives, for 'security' reasons. He is saying freedom is just a word nowadays, and when someone takes your freedom away, you may never see it again. Take your freedom and carry on, but don't give them away (write them down.)

Love is just a song today
    Love is just a song
When someone takes the song away
    You'll seldom sing along
So take those lyrics serious and sing your life away
and carry on but don't write 'em down or they'll be gone

Love is just a song today. Everyone sings it, but is it true love, is it the real song? Take YOUR song (your love) and love your life away, but don't give your love away, or you will never have it again.

All we ever do is talk
We like to ride but never walk
We make it so damn easy
    We get bored
    Why can't anybody see
What's good for you is good for me
    I can't take your sillyworld
I can't take your sillyworld no more

We like to talk, but no one takes action. We love to ride with someone else's actions, but never take action ourselves. (The next few lines are harder to interpret. Easy, bored? Not entirely sure.)

Peace is just two fingers now
    Peace was just a phase
When someone put it on a shirt
    She really killed the days
So take those fingers tape 'em up and shove 'em up your ass
and carry on but don't try it now cause peace is gone

Peace is just (your) fingers now. It's nothing more, nothing less. It serves no purpose, or, maybe this is an analogy to fighting for peace, the trigger finger. Peace was just a phase, a small phase, and when they put it on the shirts in the 70s, they were celebrating it, they knew it wouldn't last. (It's 'She knew to count the days' by the way) So take peace and shove it up your ass because you killed it. (With those trigger fingers... in my personal take.)

All we ever do is talk
We like to ride but never walk
We make it so damn easy
    We get bored
    Why can't anybody see
What's good for you is bad for me
    I can't take your sillyworld
I can't take your sillyworld no more

    Refer to above..

    We fight our instincts
    We go to extremes
    We fight our instincts
    We go to extremes

We fight our instincts, our common sense, we fight eachother when we should be helping eachother, an we go to extremes of violence to achieve it.

We fall apart (x13) (We fight a lot.)

General Comment:I agree with the anti-govt meaning, but I always thought
"We like to ride but we never walk
We make it so damn easy
    We get bored"
was about the average American being promiscuous and not actually caring about their partner... Come to think of it, that doesn't sound related to the rest of the song, but at least I hope that's what it meant

I'm sorry, when I get into such things I just get a lot thoughts about it :-P.

General Comment:Mostly people just talk, but when it comes to action, there is none. And most of times these people talk about how anyone else should think ... it just doesn't work...

Talking about love, peace or freedom doesn't have meaning anymore in a lying world. So it's easy for anyone to talk about. But its the actions that count.
