Take the ribbon from your hair
Shake it loose and let it fall
Layin' soft against your skin
Like the shadows on the wall

Come and lay down by my side
Till the early mornin' light
All I'm askin' is your time
Help me make it through the night

I don't care who's right or wrong
I don't try to understand
I don't care about tomorrow
'Cause tonight I need a friend

Yesterday is dead and gone
And tomorrow's out of sight
Ain't it sad to be alone
Help me make it through the night

I don't care who's right or wrong
I don't try to understand
I don't care about tomorrow
June tonight I need a friend

Yesterday is dead and gone
And tomorrow's out of sight
Ain't it sad to be alone
Help me make it through the night
Ain't it sad to be alone
Help me make it through the night

i think this may be the most beautiful song he's ever sang. it's like he's at the point in his life when he doesn't have to sing to anybody else. it's just a song to God. just a prayer. i love it.

Wow. I can't belive im the first person to comment this great song. I belive its about growing old, nearing death, and just talking to God about helping him to keep on going.

This is a song about Larry Gatlin, the guy who wrote it back in '71, at a time when he thought he lost everything and turned to god. It was first released on Kris Kristofferson's 'Jesus was a capicorn' with Gatlin also singing on it. I read that Gatlin was discovered by both Cash and Kristofferson. They were walking together down a street and passed a church and could hear gatlin singing. He did his first gigs with Kristofferson and then became famous in his own right. All the gokd in California is his biggest song. Later in life he turned to hard drugs, but now, as he puts it, found god again. By the way, I don't believe in the bible, but I do like both this song and Why Me Lord by Kristofferson. Cash also covered Why Me Lord.

i can agree with the person above on part of this. but the main meaning of this song is that he lost his wife and doesn't know how to continue.. his broken heart wouldn't mend...

The Night We Met
Lord Huron
This is a hauntingly beautiful song about introspection, specifically about looking back at a relationship that started bad and ended so poorly, that the narrator wants to go back to the very beginning and tell himself to not even travel down that road. I believe that the relationship started poorly because of the lines: "Take me back to the night we met:When the night was full of terrors: And your eyes were filled with tears: When you had not touched me yet" So, the first night was not a great start, but the narrator pursued the relationship and eventually both overcame the rough start to fall in love with each other: "I had all and then most of you" Like many relationships that turn sour, it was not a quick decline, but a gradual one where the narrator and their partner fall out of love and gradually grow apart "Some and now none of you" Losing someone who was once everything in your world, who you could confide in, tell your secrets to, share all the most intimate parts of your life, to being strangers with that person is probably one of the most painful experiences a person can go through. So Painful, the narrator wants to go back in time and tell himself to not even pursue the relationship. This was the perfect song for "13 Reasons Why"

Son Şansın - Şarkı Sözleri
Hayalperest
This song seemingly tackles the methods of deception those who manipulate others use to get victims to follow their demands, as well as diverting attention away from important issues. They'll also use it as a means to convince people to hate or kill others by pretending acts of terrorism were committed by the enemy when the acts themselves were done by the masters of control to promote discrimination and hate. It also reinforces the idea that these manipulative forces operate in various locations, infiltrating everyday life without detection, and propagate any and everywhere. In general, it highlights the danger of hidden agendas, manipulation, and distraction, serving as a critique of those who exploit chaos and confusion to control and gain power, depicting a cautionary tale against falling into their traps. It encourages us to question the narratives presented to us and remain vigilant against manipulation in various parts of society.
