Lyrics for Through Glass as interpreted by bloodjunkie

Through Glass Lyrics
I'm looking at you through the glass...
Don't know how much time has passed
Oh god it feels like forever
But no one ever tells you that forever
Feels like home sitting all alone inside your head

How do you feel? That is the question
But i forget.. you dont expect and easy answer
When something like a soul becomes
Initialized and folded up like paper dolls and little notes
You cant expect a bit of hope
And while your outside looking in
Describing what you see
Remember what your staring at is me

Cause I'm looking at you through the glass...
Don't know how much time has passed
All i know is that it feels like forever
When no one ever tells you that forever
Feels like home, sitting all alone inside your head

How much is real? So much to question
And never dare make up the mannequins
Contaminating everything
When thought came from the heart
It never did right from the start
Just listen to the noises
(No more sad voices)
Before you tell yourself
Its just a different scene
Remember its just different from what you've seen

Im looking at you through the glass...
Don't know how much time has passed
And all i know is that it feels like forever
When no one ever tells you that forever
Feels like home, sitting all alone inside your head

And its the starrrssss
The sttarrrsss
That shine for you
And its the starrrssss
The sttarrrsss
That lie to you.. yeah-ah

I'm looking at you through the glass...
Don't know how much time has passed
Oh god it feels like forever
But no one ever tells you that forever
Feels like home, sitting all alone inside your head

Cause I'm looking at you through the glass...
Don't know how much time has passed
All i know is that it feels like forever
But no one ever tells you that forever
feels like home, sitting all alone inside your heaaaaddd

And its the starrrssss
The sttarrrsss
That shine for you.. yeah-ah
And its the starrrssss
The sttarrrsss
That lie to you.. yeah-ah

And its the starrrssss
The sttarrrsss
That shine for you.. yeah-ah
And its the starrrssss
The sttarrrsss
That lie to you.. yeah-ah yeah

Ohhhoh the starrs
Ohhh oh the starrrrs that liieee

This is a song that Corey Taylor wrote about how his wife helped him through the rough times that he had while battling alchoholism.

I read an interview that Corey Taylor did on the Roadrunner Records website. He talks about how the new album will reflect alot on how his wife, Scarlett, has helped him battle alchoholism. He attempted to jump off the 8th floor balcony of a hotel but Scarlett was there and managed to stop him. The phrase "Through the Glass" could mean that he's looking at himself through a mirror, wondering what he's become or it could also mean that he's looking through a drinking glass at his wife.

imo i really think the through the glass is refering to looking through a drinking glass seems alot more fitting for the song

I like the looking at himself through a mirror version better Just because it can fit more things than just alcoholism. Saying how you're looking at yourself and not liking what you've become

I think this is an awsome song. The lyrics are amazing, so deep and full of meaning. This is a toatly new direction for Stone Sour/Corey Taylor, and i cant get enough of it.

Stone Sour's new album Come What(ever) May's arrival in stores on August 1st

my first impression of the "looking through the glass" was an hour glass.. Cuz he's goes on talking about time. When he talks about her looking in and seeing him. He's like the little grains of rice [in the hour glass] that just fall and waste away...

anyways.. those are my 2 cents.. i guess. Good song.

Ok...So when they premiered the Through Glass video on AOL, there was an interview Corey did and he said that this song is about how fake and plastic Hollywood is. So I admit, I was waaaaay off! lol

I think it is cool how Corey's wife helped him through his alcohol and drug abuse. And this is the perfect song for that.

Alright. This song IS NOT about Corey's wife helping him battle alchoholism. I originally thought it was because in an interview Corey did, he said that the new album would reflect that. But...this song is about how fake and plastic Hollywood is. Read the article

This forum is about opinions too right? not just whats right. When I first heard it, I took it as he was in prison for life. His girlfriend/wife came to see him and was "looking at him through the glass."

I assume it's a life sentance because
"And all i know is that it feels like forever
When no one ever tells you that forever
Feels like home, sitting all alone inside your head"
He's stuck inside with nobody but his thoughts of how he got in there.

I'm thinkin he's in there for something he did to her. Not necessairly abuse, but she didn't see it coming, and now he's trapped in prison with "You cant expect a bit of hope"

This verse, "How much is real? So much to question"
is about their relationship before he was caught.

And the stars part. They shine for you (meant to be together) They lie to you (actually star-crossed)

Thats my opinion. Don't really care if it's "right", but I like my interupertation. Next time you hear this song, think about it in this perspective.

this song is lyrically powerful, and i like the instrumental. it sounds like he could be talking to his wife about how much she helped him, but it also sounds like he could be talking to himself, or just anyone who'd listen about how depressed he might be, basically asking questions that are seemingly without answers...very good song

When I hear this song I think about someone who had something really terrible happen to them such as abuse or a close death and they put up an emotional wall around themselves afraid to let people in. They feel trapped like they're in a glass box, disconnected from the outside world and they feel like they can't relate to people and trust them. Soon the glass box begins to feel like home because the seclusion from others gives them a false sense of security from what hurt them in the first place.

The lyrics are great on this, its just an amazing song to listen to. It reminds me of seeing perhaps someone you'd like to be with-friend/lover whatever-but cant because they dont want you or your own fears/problems.

know that i re-read the lyrics..it might just be how holllywood is so plastic and fake right now. i mean come on, in the vid everyone and everything turns into cardboard, what does that have to do with him and his wife?? Good point there "Attack The Static".
