I'm looking at you through the glass
Don't know how much time has passed
Oh God, it feels like forever
But no one ever tells you that forever feels like home
Sitting all alone inside your head

'Cause I'm looking at you through the glass
Don't know how much time has passed
All I know is that it feels like forever
When no one ever tells you that forever feels like home
Sitting all alone inside your head

How do you feel? That is the question
But I forget, you don't expect an easy answer
When something like a soul becomes initialized
And folded up like paper dolls and little notes
You can't expect a bit of hope
And while you're outside looking in
Describing what you see
Remember what you're staring at is me

'Cause I'm looking at you through the glass
Don't know how much time has passed
All I know is that it feels like forever
When no one ever tells you that forever feels like home
Sitting all alone inside your head

How much is real? So much to question
An epidemic of the mannequins
Contaminating everything
When thought came from the heart
It never did right from the start
Just listen to the noises
(No more sad voices)
Before you tell yourself
It's just a different scene
Remember it's just different from what you've seen

I'm looking at you through the glass
Don't know how much time has passed
And all I know is that it feels like forever
When no one ever tells you that forever feels like home
Sitting all alone inside your head

'Cause I'm looking at you through the glass
Don't know how much time has passed
All I know is that it feels like forever
When no one ever tells you that forever feels like home
Sitting all alone inside your head

And it's the stars
The stars that shine for you
And it's the stars
The stars that lie to you

And it's the stars
The stars that shine for you
And it's the stars
The stars that lie to you

I'm looking at you through the glass
Don't know how much time has passed
Oh God, it feels like forever
But no one ever tells you that forever feels like home
Sitting all alone inside your head

'Cause I'm looking at you through the glass
Don't know how much time has passed
All I know is that it feels like forever
But no one ever tells you that forever feels like home
Sitting all alone inside your head

And it's the stars
The stars that shine for you
And it's the stars
The stars that lie to you

And it's the stars
The stars that shine for you
And it's the stars
The stars that lie to you

Who are the stars
Who are the stars they lie

My Interpretation:This song was released when my husband was dying of cancer. The last week, he was in so much pain that he was in hospice in an induced coma. The nurses told us that while he couldn't respond, he could hear us. We talked to him a lot, and had many conversations around him that he would have enjoyed. As he slipped away, I thought that the words to this song could be how things seemed to him as he "sat alone inside his head".I love the song, but it makes me sad when I hear it.

My Interpretation:to me, this song means something different. i lived my how life poor and im falling madly in love witha rich guy. he is perfect, but he is a little full of himself. he also judges people a bit. and well, when im around him, i feeling like in in an interrogation room and he is one the otherside of the one way mirror being better and smarter and stonger then me. and the part "the stars that shine for you"< well they do because he has had a good life and will have an amezing future and i know that im going to fail in live i have thus far.
all in all, this is my song for the love of my life..... this is how he makes me feel....

Song Meaning:In an interview with Corey, it was stated that this song is about his feelings toward the music industry and how it barley resembles what it used to be, instead now being fill with talentless and lazy rich kids (epidemic of the mannequins) as is made apparent in the video in which the rich swingin party is gradually revealed to just be cardboard cutouts and are all, even the house and pool, are one by one carried away. the video also ends with the band in front of the HOLLYWOOD sign which reads HOLLOWOOD which itself turns out to be another cutout.

My Opinion:makes me think of how somebody feels while being in jail...looking through the glass at their partner, or whoever, during visitation

My Interpretation:To me, this song is about a person who has lived his/her life regrettably, and when they finally realize this, they can no longer recognize the person staring back at them in the mirror.
    >> "Cause I'm looking at you through the glass/ Don't know how much time has passed"
Because of their actions, s/he is now all alone, left to ponder the past.

Memory:There is many thaughts about this song. but everyone here have their own.

when i first heard this song i got memories from my childhood when i had everything i could wish and now i have so much to worry about. i've been bullied and the childhood time i thik about is before everything started. i still have pictures from those times and i miss them so much. sometimes i want to give up because i just want to have it like that again.

My Interpretation:to me it's like it's about the inside of the mind of a person with autism, like myself. always inside you're head thinking, seeing the world inside your own glass bubble, always saying the shorter answer instead of what they were asking to answer as, and no one else knowing how you feel about your own little world that you've made inside of your head, never thinking much about people that others like, think of as idols, and other things, never seeing how they actually might be instead of their stage appearance. at least that's what it means to me.

General Comment:It's about the fake, plastic Hollywood life style. The way the song is done is a reflection of this. It sounds as though it's some kind of heartfelt song about a loved one. But in reality, it's not.

General Comment:i think its about being in jail
" 'Cause I'm looking at you through the glass (getting visits and not being able to have contact with the person visiting) Don't know how much time has passed( time dosent have much of a concept in jail and from most cells cant see the clock anyways) All I know is that it feels like forever (self explanitory) But no one ever tells you that forever feels like home Sitting all alone inside your head( when ur in there it drives u insane when u think about life on the outside ur all alone in there and ur mind is constantly rolling)"

"So while you're outside looking in Describing what you seeRemember what you're staring at is me...."

looking at the jail from outside remember that theres hundreds of forgotten people sitting in that building....
