I've got a new story now and it goes like this
I took my hand out of my pocket up came a fist
It was headline news
One more abuse
I've got to tell it with a fist
And it goes like this

Ho ho ho ho
Huh huh huh huh

So where's the femininity
The one with skirts and high heels
A shiny sink and home made meals
The one and only way
If you enter you'll stay
Sons and daughters you will breed
As long as you breastfeed
Yeah being a man is a bliss
One Hit one Kiss

Ho ho ho ho
Huh huh huh huh

Then the lights came on, it was all a scene
Bend back, give head it's not pornography
If you do it with lights then it's art you see
If you do it with a twist
Yes, artistically

Ho ho ho ho
Huh huh huh huh

I could do the laundry
The women's work
For a reasonable salary I would wash the world
It wouldn't affect my libido or my self esteem
Don't need to mark my territory
It's all obvious to me
It's manhood's bliss
One Hit one Kiss
Spending time with my family
Like the Corleones

Ho ho ho ho
Huh huh huh huh

Like Joey McChipmunk, I also thought Karin was saying,

"How how how how? Who who who who?"

I really like c0intelpr0's interpretation, especially because Karin alters her voice in this song to sound like a man. Although I would like to see the line as empowering, when Karin sings "I took my hand out of my pocket up came a fist," it seems to be a kind of excuse: "I couldn't help it; hitting her came instinctively."

I think it's about mens dominance, suppression of women, violence against women and so on. "One hit one kiss" "Spend time with my family, like the corleones" - he wants to be the dominating in the relationship, but he wants love as well. Corleones is used a kind of cynical reference stating that he is the boss like Godfather.

Also about pornography, and excusing abuse with art.. Also the the part about the corleones suggest that he is the boss of the family. It's such a f**king good song.. It makes me feel kind of angry. Don't know if i overanalyzed this song.. Perhaps it hasn't been commented because it's so obvious..

The story is told from the point of view of a capitalist (man) abusing the working class (women).

It's the news interviewing a man who was put in prison for beating (possibly killing) his wife. He's defending his actions because his wife doesnn't act the way he thinks she should act, and he describes the process of the abuser convincing the woman that she needs him because she is cut off from her friends and has gotten pregnant.

Then the woman realized how used she has been and that the man has been treating her like shit and exploiting her.

He says at the end that he would gladly do any of the work he made her do for the right price, and he implies that he will kill or intimidate anyone who questions his authority.

Very insightful forblaze, except for the last verse, which I think has to do more with male privelege. "It's all obvious to me" seems to suggest that the man is excusing traditional gender roles by saying he wouldn't have a problem with doing laundry and that his partner is weak because it affects her so. The addition of "like the Corleones" continues to suggest that the male is still dominant.

I have a different interpretation of the last line... It's making a point that the family that the male dominator wants is one more akin to a mob "family" than to an actual traditional family............

    c0intelpr0 , wtf?

Traditional gender roles ironized. The guy will throw a punch at times, but the girl will forgive him and they'll make up. The song's full of ironic notes.

I'm from Sweden, but I don't really know any abuse in particular that would fit the lyrics. Maybe it would be possible to look further if I knew when the song was written.

The newspapers in Sweden has a habit to fill their frontpages with news of murders, rapes and violence, so maybe it's just focusing on abuses in the news as a whole?

Overall about difficult moments of disappointment and vulnerability. Having hope and longing, while remaining optimistic for the future. Encourages the belief that with each new morning there is a chance for things to improve. The chorus offers a glimmer of optimism and a chance at a resolution and redemption in the future. Captures the rollercoaster of emotions of feeling lost while loving someone who is not there for you, feeling let down and abandoned while waiting for a lover. Lost with no direction, "Now I'm up in the air with the rain in my hair, Nowhere to go, I can go anywhere" The bridge shows signs of longing and a plea for companionship. The Lyrics express a desire for authentic connection and the importance of Loving someone just as they are. "Just in passing, I'm not asking. That you be anyone but you”

Just A Little Lovin'
Dusty Springfield
I don't think it's necessarily about sex. It's about wanting to start the day with some love and affection. Maybe a warm cuddle. I'm not alone in interpreting it that way! For example: "'Just a Little Lovin’ is a timeless country song originally recorded by Eddy Arnold in 1954. The song, written by Eddie Miller and Jimmy Campbell, explores the delicate nuances of love and showcases Arnold’s emotive vocals. It delves into the universal theme of love and how even the smallest gesture of affection can have a profound impact on our lives." https://oldtimemusic.com/the-meaning-behind-the-song-just-a-little-lovin-by-eddy-arnold/
