Arthur J did indicate
The boulevard would never be
So full of love and life again

Hot as Hades early eighties
Sing another song and make me
Feel like I'm in love again

Please don't strip my mind
Leave something behind
Please don't strip my mind

All in favor sign the waiver
Bloody Carolina won't you
Take another look inside

Operator, co-creator
Come on radiator won't you
Blow another top and sing

El Dorado won the lotto
All that cash and not a clue
But now you know what I've been through

Lyric Correction:I have the Stadium Arcadium tab book and it obviously includes the lyrics, and I noticed that someone previously asked what the spoken words at the end of the verses were. Here they are, word for word out of the book since I noticed someone posted what they thought they were, and they were correct for the most part.
    1. Aw, say goodbye to your boots, man.
    2. You gotta lose to win.
    3. Aw, it will make me cry.
    4. Ah, you only get what you bring.

General Comment:I know that this is a lyrics website but the riff that's played in the second verse is so awesome.

Song Meaning:Sara that's the beauty of art, the mystery of trying to work something out from something quite abstract. For me this song is totally about the negativity of drugs. First verse is a moan about how life is bland after taking drugs. Second verse "song" meaning drugs, sing verb translate to take, song noun translate to drug, Also hot as hades is his name for his cravings/addiction? maybe lol. Chorus is him pleading to keep what's left of his mind to not be taken again from the gear. Third verse sounds like he's giving in to his cravings and asking for another hit. fourth verse he's telling him self dont you want another hit. Last verse to me sounds like even though he has lots of money from being very successful he still hasn't a clue on how to stop. Yeah pretty far fetched but that's the imagery that sparks with me when I listen.

General Comment:Being a musician myself, at LEAST 50% of all the songs you will ever listen to in your lifetime have NO MEANING AT ALL...it just sounds good. There is noting wrong, or cliche about that. I mean if you go back and read the lyrics it reads like verbal/mental diarrhea....a lot of artists do this on purpose because the melody was thought of before the lyrics. Usually when this is the case, whatever lyrics work are crated...and poof..you have a song. I swear too many people on this planet think too spiritually, and try to read between lines that aren't there and add meaning to something that is just meant to be enjoyable. Not EVERY human believes in spirituality, and don't take things in life as direct and literal and obvious as they actually are. Humans do this because we are selfish, and scared to evolve and use logic over emotion and spirituality. And honestly what IS a spirit? It's your personality. There are no spirits, no ghosts, no god, no miracles, everything happens as a cause and effect. No cosmic alignment to determine our fate. Religion is a tool used by the most well off people on the planet to control the bottom 2/3 of society and it has worked. Even the Red Hot Chili Peppers know this, you can hear it in the lyrics that DO have meaning. Most people when begging and praying it isn't to god....it is what it is. If the majority of people on Earth would agree with this it would be less violent, no one would run out of food or money and everyone would be happy, and we could evlolve as species. But as long as we have people assuming before they get the facts we're all doomed!

My Interpretation:I was listening to this song a while ago and I was listening to it with the lyrics, and I just thought of what the song was about (I think, I could be wrong). I think it's about a girl who leaves a guy, though I'm not sure which guy it is. It makes sense to the chorus, when it says "Please don't strip my mind, leave something behind" because "strip my mind" would be when she's leaving him and "leave something behind" is him wanting her to stay.
I could be wrong though. I haven't read any of the other comments yet for a better understanding.

General Comment:Something about this makes me think of acceptance of the past.
Things have happened, and sure they won't be the same, but there's always the memory, but is the pain of losing that worth losing the experience?

Arthur J did indicate that the boulevard would "never be so full of love and life again."

The song seems to be calling out one's inner struggle and final acceptance of what is and the value and beauty of what happened. " Please don't strip my mind, Leave "Something" behind."

General Comment:I agree with many things you folks have said and only offer that this song could mean many, many different things.

I, however, would like to play devil's advocate and introduce the "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind" theory.. 'Please don't strip my mind' - allow me to keep my precious memories of my past. Time/age, please do not rob me of my beautiful past experiences and please let me remember today exactly as it looks and I feel right at this moment.

Song Meaning:You guys say many interpretations of the song without any proof from the Lyrics of the song.

    Arthur J did indicate
    The boulevard would never be
So full of love and life again

Arther J is a doctor... who says they will never play again...
the boulevard is where they played in LA...

    Hot as Hades early eighties
Sing another song and make me
Feel like I'm in love again

Hot as Hades refers to the evil of the situation..
Singing again will make him happy...

    Please don't strip my mind
    Leave something behind
    Please don't strip my mind

Hes asking for forgiveness for "his mind" not to be left without his music

All in favor sign the waiver
    Bloody Carolina won't you
    Take another look inside

This refers to a wavier for an operation..
Bloody Carolina is a Nurse who is gonna try to help him..

    Operator, co-creator
    Come on radiator won't you
    Blow another top and sing

Operator is referring to the guy operating on him who he on mass aesthetic is a bit high
he sees him like his god fixing him like a mechanic fixes a car.

    El Dorado won the lotto
All that cash and not a clue
But now you know what I've been through

He feels like he has won the lottery with all the money and love people gave him
but we the fans do not know of what he had to go through to keep on singing...
I could not find any operations of his on record so i believe this was an operation
before they were famous when they couldn't afford a professional doctor and had to settle
with a sketchy doctor. That could be the reason for Arthur J not having a last name or
person who i think is the nurse being bloody from jest being done with another patient
and because of lack of funds or government operation they are not sanitary.

    that should make it clearer
