Lyrics for Animal Bar as interpreted by x0_ju1cy

Animal Bar Lyrics
Never 21 when everyone\'s a sailor
Coming up strong with the animal bar
Ever loving more with mr.norman mailer
Turn another page at the animal bar
And it wont be long
No it wont be long
No it wont be long
Because it can\'t be long

Ah ah ah the cry of isolation
Ah ah ah the higher meditation
Ah ah ah the sweet precipitation
Ah ah ah the higher depravation
And it wont be long
No it wont be long
No it wont be long
Because it can't be long

Chorus:
Rain on my frustration
Save my queen now break this
Wash me down my station
Make more rain forsaken
Read between the sky and every piece of the earth
1 2 3 lets make this
Coming through the world i got a feeling of words
1 2 3 forsake this

All aboard the ship cause
Your going to need arc when
The wet comes down youll be swimming like a shark
Mopping up the pain when im a little older
Right as rain at the animal bar
And it wont be long
No it wont be long
No it wont be long
Because it can't be long

Ah ah ah the cry of isolation
Ah ah ah the higher meditation
Ah ah ah the mild precipitation
Ah ah ah the higher depravation
And it wont be long
No it wont be long
No it wont be long
Because it can't be long

Chorus

Raindrops will fall from the sky
Stealing the shape from your eye
Now we can all get some sleep
the water the water the water
saving us from the heat
Somethings will die in there place
Others will leave with a trace
Fire will come by its day
the water the water the water
Washing it all away

Rain on my frustration
Save my queen now break this
Wash me down my station
Make more rain forsaken
Read between the sky and every piece of the earth
1 2 3 lets make this
Read between the sky and every piece of the earth
1 2 3 forsake this
Read between the sky and every piece of the earth
1 2 3 lets make this
Read between the sky and every piece of the earth
1 2 3 forsake this

This is about a little place called the Animal Bar in Australia.

For a certain part of the year they get NO RAIN and almost die.

makes sense, nicely done! i think it's a miracle to get a meaning in the first post, rather then 'love this song' or 'great song!' lol.

could it be isolation not vacilation? and state my claim, not save my queen? i could look in the book but that would be sensible...

well i'm spanish , and the first time i heard this song i couldnt get the whole lyrics. so i thought that it could be about being young, and how wonderful and full of dreams life is. but the no rain meaning makes much more sense hehehe.... anyway, great song.

I am pretty confident that this song is talking about Noahs Ark and that time era. I think it's kind of poking fun at maybe what the animals were doing that whole time on the ark.

Look at some of the lyrics:

"Ah ah ah the cry of isolation
Ah ah ah the higher meditation
Ah ah ah the sweet precipitation
Ah ah ah the higher depravation "
...isolation, meditation, precipitation, and depravation.....all words that the ark relates too.

again...

"All aboard the ship cause
Your going to need ARC when
The WET comes down youll be swimming like a shark"

"Raindrops will fall from the sky
Stealing the shape from your eye
Now we can all get some sleep
the water the water the water
saving us from the heat
Somethings will die in there place
Others will leave with a trace
Fire will come by its day
the water the water the water
Washing it all away "

...saving you from the HEAT (hell)...washing washing it all away...like the flood did...

i dunno it makes sense to me.

This is... my favorite RCHP song.

I think it's really straight forward myself. It's about a bar.. plain and simple. Not all songs have hidden meanings.

God, no offense rhcp baby in any way, but I hate computer lingo. I do use "lol" sometimes, but computer lingo is a bit childish and too hard to understand at times.

One of the best songs off the new album. Uses cool Pink Floyd-like effects and has a weird sound to it. I love it. I have no clue what most of the lyrics are about on the album (call me stupid if you wish). lol. Hey, I just used computer lingo. This and "Desecration Smile" are the two best songs on the Mars CD.

People have said in this thread that its about reading a book in an Australian bar, and some say that its about Noah's Ark.
I think BOTH theories are right, its about reading the bible at a bar. This would go with a few of the other songs on Stadium Arcadium that have a religious theme.
:) i love making everyone happy

Listening to this song makes me happy (more than another RHCP song). So I don't know what the meaning is for sure, but I think it's about finding happiness / peace in a certain place.

I like the Bible theory and the Australian bar theory, but I'm not sure what to do with the Norman Mailer line, then.

Its definitely a religious theme, possibly describing the rapture in between the sky and every piece of the earth...Telling everyone that its not gonna be long, so get on the arc as a believer.

it's I I I instead of ah ah ah
'Coming through the world i got a feeling of words' is actually 'Runnin through the mud I got a feeling of worth'
'Save my queen' is 'Stake my claim' ... and much more .. but i don't wanna be a pain in the ass :)

I don't think it's about Noah's Ark - the mention of an "ark" is just to help us understand the water theme better.

As I said in my first post, it's about a bar in australia where they get almost no rain for one year, and then the rain comes and everything is better.

Anthony said so in the DVD that comes with the box set.

I don't see why RHCP would be writing themes about religious things or prophecies like the 'rapture' or get on the ark as a believer. Why would the band that performed 'Shallow Be Thy Game' a song against religion and its way of controlling the masses be an advocate for the rapture?

If anything there might be some new age spirituality themes. I've read some reviews about songs on Stadium Arcadium having 'shamanistic' qualities like they are some guru from india.

Its probably safer just to except the Animal Bar in Australia meaning.

i DEFINATLY dont think its a religious thing. the arc was just put in to reinforce the rain theme. i think it is about redemption, the water is washing the slate clean. ''the water, the water/ washing it all away''

Man I really love this song and yes the animal bar is a part of australia where it never rains. I think it's about being isolated and afraid of change.

this song isnt one of their best. The lyrics are a bit pethetic (sp?). no offense. i love rhcp and their SA album is amazing but, if i had to pick one, i think i would say this is the worst song on the album. It sounds like itshould be the themtune to a kiddies program so . . . being childish . . . i quite like it XD.

some corrections:

its an : Ever loving MUG of mr.norman mailer

and its :
I I I the cry of isolation
I I I the higher meditation
I I I the sweet precipitation
I I I the higher depravation

i dont think there ar any others

I personally love this song...

And in my oppinion, its seems to be about religion, mainly about Noah's Ark and the story of that. The first stanza seems like when Noah was first told to build the ark and how Noah was old and everyone just thougth he was crazy. The second stanza seems like Noah and the animals on the ark wishing it would stop rianing and that the water would go down. The chorus seems to be about how frustrating and hard it was for Noah and the animals being stuck on the ark for so long. The foruth stanza is pretty self explaintory...unless you're a fish or a swimming animal, you'll need to be on the arc or you'll drown. Also about Noah's labour of buliding that arc and how it'll be worth it in the end. The sixth stanza is about how depressing the long rain was and how it washed and killed all the evil and bad from the earth and how only the good remain on the arc.

That's my interpretation of it. I might be wrong or right. But yah. I was always interested in the story of Noah's arc and when i first heard this song I made an immeadiate connection.

Actually quite a few tracks seem to be about religon for example We beleive and Desecration Smile (desecration means the destruction of something sacred)
But I could be wrong, there are so many things that these songs could be about but you made a fair point LastConservativeFan
