Should I write myself out of the history books,
And mark a place in time for every chance you took,
Don't get me wrong I know you've got your life in place
I've yet to take the hint,
Some day
I'm sure I'll get the picture,
And stop waiting up

When it all comes down,
To a sunrise on the east side,
Will you be there to carry home,
The remains of my wasted youth,
This wasted time on you
Has left me shaking in waiting,
Shaking in waiting for something more.

Tonight is alive with the promise of a street-fight,
And there's money on the table,
That says your cheap-shots won't be able,
To break bones.
I've yet to break a sweat
I'll make your past regret its future.
Here's to you.

When it all comes down,
To a sunrise on the east side,
Will you be there to carry home,
The remains of my wasted youth,
This wasted time on you
Has left me shaking in waiting,
For something more.

Make all of my decisions for me,
I've never taken the fall for deceit,
I'll keep a secret if you keep me guessing,
The taste of your lips says we shouldn't have met like
The taste of your lips says we shouldn't have met like

I can keep a secret if you can keep me guessing,
The flavor of your lips is enough to keep me pressing,
For more than just a moment of truth between the lies told,
To pull ourselves away from the lives we leave back home
I can keep a secret if you can keep me guessing,
The flavor of your lips is enough to keep me here

When it all comes down,
To a sunrise on the east side,
Will you be there to carry me home,
The remains of my wasted youth,
This wasted time on you
Has left me shaking in waiting,
For something more.

Song Meaning:Okay, reading the comments non of you ACTUALLY know what the song is about...
Alex said in an rockstar underground interview that the song is about him dating a 25 year old woman who was already married and they used to secretly meet up in a coffee shop.'Don't get me wrong i know you've got you r life in place, im yet to take the hint' is about him knowing that she is married but can't fall out of love with her.
Thats all he said cause he didn't want to reveal to much cause he and some other people could get into alot of trouble.

General Comment:this song about how alex had an affair with a married woman and its called coffee shop sound track because they met up in a coffee place, didnt know that until recently, now the lyrics make soooo much more sense..though the music video has absolutely nothing what so ever to do with the song XD whatever. i still love them

My Opinion:Besides Lullbies and Come One, Come All, this is one of my favorite All Time Low songs. In a Rockstar Underground interview with Alex, he tells you the meaning.

General Comment:So I was watching some old interviews of ATL because I was bored, and according to Alex this song is about a woman he was with but she was married. So it was like "secret meetings" and stuff, which I can definitely see now, looking over the lyrics.

My Opinion:Alex said in an interview that it's about an older woman who was married that he'd meet in a coffee shop.
I think that this song and "Damned If I Do Ya (Dammned If I Don't)" are about the same girl. Just with the song I never thought about it but after I saw the video I thought of this song. I think that the trouble the person would get into would be more than just with their husband and, depending on his age at the time and the laws for sex in Baltimore, maybe the police - if it was teacher like in the "Damned If I Do Ya" video they would be in a heck of a lot more trouble.
