    General Comment:alot of winner comments on this song wow. I left lyrics in an offering box, and the song shine down played before the band shinedown. They did crossfades song Cold, play right before the bad cold?

    General Comment:This really seems more like satire than anything else.. mostly because of the two verses. I'm sure that most will want to interpret it as having the ability to endure through the rough, silent periods from god, but, really, it seems almost comedic, the way that it's phrased.

    It seems more like he's trying to point out how stupid people are for hanging on to religion when everything about them seems to point to an absent god, than he's trying to encourage others to continue to be strong.

    Especially when you consider the nature of the band and, really, even just the name. I would think that a band named "Godsmack" would actively discourage religion through satire before earnestly and soulfully encouraging faith in god.

    General Comment:some of Sully's previous lyrics seem to be anti-God, and he has been a Wiccan for some time, so it seems that he is waking up from that bullshit, realizing that hes been hiding from the God of gods, and he wants God's immortal love to shine down on him...interesting that this song was prob written around the same time Maynard wrote about Jesus Christ: "Shine on forever, shine on benevolent Son"

    General Comment:I was just driveing around and herd this song on the radio not a big fan of godmack. I love hard rock but was never to happy with godsmack purely becuase the name of the bad but this song totaly changed my mind about god smack.I also belive he is talk about god. I think he was trying so ahrd to stay in the dark but he want god to shinedown on him Now which is awsome becuase i was the same way i feel this song deep down awsome song
