Speak up
My ears are growing weary
I'll sing this to the end
And watch the waves crash over me
Not too much to overcome with enough
Time to turn it all around
In a picture perfect scenery I've become a
Stick figure illustration
My eyes roll back and focus what's
Ahead
I can still stand if you lend the hand to
Brace me
I'll take this on my own
My ears are growing weary
I'll sing this to the end
And watch the waves crash over me
Not too much to overcome with enough
Time to turn it all around
In a picture perfect scenery I've become a
Stick figure illustration
My eyes roll back and focus what's
Ahead
I can still stand if you lend the hand to
Brace me
I'll take this on my own

A STICK FIGURE . . .
ILLUSTRATION
This seems glaringly obvious to me.. It's a symbol of Jesus hanging on the tree. In the song, you can just hear the roughness and agony of Jesus going to the cross intent on sacrificing himself for the sins of the world. "My eyes roll back and focus on what's ahead."
"I can still stand if you lend the hand to brace me" tells how Jesus pleaded the Father to "take this cup from me, but nevertheless, not my will, but Yours be done." Here, the word "standing" may mean staying alive.
And finally, "I'll take this on my own."
Jesus, before his last breath says, "My father, my father, why have you forsaken me?" The word "forsaken" means "left". God had abandoned him- he was alone. Also, he is saying, I will take the sins of the world on my shoulders. The punishment for any sin is death (Romans 6:23). And everyone has sinned (Romans 3:23). To be saved, we must (1) make Jesus our lord and master, and (2) believe that God the Father raised Jesus from the dead.
We would be in a pickle if Jesus had not done this for us. It's definitely great material for a passionate song.
and it has such emotion behind it,
you can hear it in Aarons drumming alone.
And when it all comes in at 3:00,
everytime, I find myself just dropping whatever it is I'm doing and crying out to God with all of my spirit.
And then I'm in Gods presence for the rest of the day.
and there's no better feeling.
So, Christians or even agnostics,
give that a try!
I downloaded a song recently that was titled "Casting such a thin shadow."
...but the lyrics sound nothing like this...
One line I remember hearing was, "At the end of the road you will find what you've been longing for."
When I google this line, and the first two lines from here, it says two different sets of lyrics but the same song by underoath. o.o; wtf? Could someone help? xD I'm extremely comfused.
In the first few comments your talking about To WHom it may concer. Srsly, just compare the song to the lyrics. not that hard.
In other words, he's giving into the weaknesses of the flesh and losing faith. Taking things on his own, without the Grace of the lord.
Don't get me wrong, I have nothing against religion but the ignorance that comes with the faith. Really bothers me. Some christians, that is.
that's just a christian standpoint thing, though. take it however you want. i just don't wanna get flamed for taking this in a christian mindset. haha. ;)
