What happened after the storm? Was everyone okay? I tried to call again, I think they've gone away ? ? ? We learned them as we went, Forgot them straightaway, The ones we've left behind The ones we sent away.

General Comment:I have this this theory that mogwai give such titles to their music so that it steers you away from anything to do with words and more towards the actual music. giving such ridiculous song titles for much of their music is (in my opinion) no weak attempt at coming across as alternative of "indie". Rather they are making fun of words in general and displaying that they are not actually that significant. I dont neccessarily agree with them if that is their opinion, but i think at least this is what they are trying to do.

General Comment:Hmmm...Maybe the song actually is about a storm that happened and the whole feeling of the song is based upon a relief to be alive and a kind of sorrow for the others that were seperated. The title "Acid Food" is such a creative phrase...but personally, it is a preferred track for an lsd trip. at least for me, it's like food for my ears.

General Comment:I always thought the vocoder said, "Will you turn the other way?"

General Comment:I have to say my reaction to the song is nothing to do with relationships. The title brings drug/trip connotations. I've always imagined it as a hallucinogenic experience where the singer is in some sort of arctic tundra/desolate wasteland spanning as far as the eye can see, alone, looking for his mates. Great song.

General Comment:Beautiful song, perfect for rainy days.

...and not certain but i think the vocoder is saying "Wouldn't it be okay?" at some parts although "We'll go back the other way" sounds like it too

General Comment:the drum part is just simple and perfect and wow...
my favorit of the disc with travel is dangerous and "friend of the night"....

shit i dont understand what the lyrics mean because im french but for me, just because the title of the track, this is how you can be "empoisonné" (so... the poison can kill you), by someone.... when you realize when a relation ship is a destrucction and not a.. how can i say that...

when something is killing you and not making you better...

when a food is acid and not just "good"... you see?

General Comment:The lyrics are typically abstract of Mogwai. However, when I look at the words of this song, I see it as being applicable to a disfunctional relationship. It breaks down to me personally--and very specifically-- as follows:

WHAT HAPPENED AFTER THE STORM, WAS EVERYONE OK?
after the argument, are we still ok together?

I TRIED TO CALL AGAIN, I THINK THEY'VE GONE AWAY
i tried to call you but you didn't answer. I think the bad things that plague my temper are gone.

WE'LL COME BACK THE OTHER WAY
    we'll get it together

I DREAMT OF AN ICE AGE TODAY, COLD AND WHITE TO SEE
i thought of a bleak world without you today

I WALKED FOR MILES AND MILES, THEY CAME BACK THE OTHER WAY
i went for a walk, and the "bad things" came back to me.

WE LEARNT THEM AS WE WENT, FORGOT THEM STRAIGHT AWAY
we learned how to deal with eachother's personalities day by day, but in the heat of a clash, these things we learnt seemed to vanish in our minds

    THE ONES WE LEFT BEHIND
    some lessons we forgot

    THE ONES WE SENT AWAY
some lessons we dismissed as nonsense

WE'LL COME BACK THE OTHER WAY
    we'll get it together
