I have to agree with the other comment; this song rocks.
Obviously, we can't interpret the lyrics but by the title I think the song is alerting to either
a) that love is confusing and that you need to use "math" to make somewhat sense of it.
or
b) that sometimes love isn't what makes sense whereas with math, it all makes perfect logical sense.
That's just my opinion.

i'm surprised there aren't more comments on this song. i had a heard a few bss songs before, but this was the one that made me fall in love with their music.
i just love the title...because sometimes love can really be like a mathematical equation. and sometimes those equations can be solved, like nicexdream said, through trial and error. but the great thing is that there is always MORE to be discovered, new equations to decipher...
hah. oh snap.

the title is just contrasting two things. math is black and white. everything is either right or wrong. love cannot is not a tangible thing, it can't really be described. at least my interpretation.

to me, the title and the actual song go hand in hand.
in the song you have two continual things- the bass line and the drums, and in life you (hopefully) have two continual things- love (a complex emotional need) and mathematics (the consistent everyday things you need to survive). the song combines the two and shows changes, rises and falls.
i was thinking how the song (or music in general) is a combination of love & mathematics. love being the emotions you feel when listening to it & math being all the theory behind the music.

since math is also trial/error, love can be that way too. sometimes you have to try out different things in order to see what best works for you.
