The words are coming
I feel terrible
Is it typical for us to act like this?
Am I just another scene from a movie
That you've seen one hundred times?
Cause baby, you weren't the first, or the last, or the worst
And I've got to fill the blanks in the past with a verse
We could sit around and cry
But frankly, you're not worth it anymore

So say hello to all the boys
At the top of this table that you're under
Lipstick lullabies
This is sorry for the last time
And baby, I understand how you're making new friends
This is how you get by
The moral this time is
Girls make boys cry
And I...

On any other day I would shoot the boy
But your simple toy had caused a scene like this
Leave him hanging on the walls
Just a picture in the hall
Like a hundred more
(Like a hundred more)
Consider this as a gift as you taste him on your lips
And he's making you scream with his hands on your hips
I hope he's leaving you empty, baby
This is just a fix for such a simple little whore

So say hello to all the boys
At the top of this table that you're under
Lipstick lullabies
This is sorry for the last time
And baby, I understand how you're making new friends
This is how you get by
The moral this time is
Girls make boys cry

And your name remains the same
All that has changed is this pretty face
So pull the trigger
It never gets closer
You want to start over
But never start over
Pull the trigger
It never gets closer
You want to start over
But never start over

So say hello to all the boys
At the top of this table that you're under
Lipstick lullabies
This is sorry for the last time
And baby, I understand how you're making new friends
This is how you get by
The moral this time is
Girls make boys cry
And I...

Say hello, say hello
Lipstick lullabies
This is sorry for the last time
And baby, I understand how you're making new friends
This is how you get by
The moral this time is
Girls make boys cry

General Comment:I just love everything about this song. I agree that it's about a cheating girl who "gets around" and he's just done with her. MP <333

General Comment:I love how passionate and angry the tone and mood is in this song. It really makes me love the song more, it shows how real the lyrics can get.

General Comment:this may be a dumb question, but could some one explain the
    you want to start over
    but never start over
is he saying like she always wants to start the relationship over cause she keeps cheating but she never really does start over cause she just does it again?

General Comment:i get the feeling that "So say hello to all the boys
At the top of this table that you're under
Lipstick lullabies" has to do with the fact that the girl degrades herself by getting paid to do the nasty for guys under the table leaving her "lipstick" in thier pants but she gats paid for it becuase that money "This is how you get by" because her "new friends" pay her
so he finds out she is selling services and well "girls make boys cry"

General Comment:Call me crazy, but I thought this song was just what it said.. about a slut who has all these guys and "pull the trigger" is referring to her just getting rid of them... And this song is just one guy's story to how he felt after she did what she did... but this specific guy found out what she was doing and he can see through her lies and he realized he could do much better and it's over...hahaha! :)

Whatever it means, It's a fantastic song!
I'm going to see these guys in Oklahoma City on November 20th!!! GONNA BE FRICKING AMAZINGGG! :D

General Comment:Well.. I don't know if either of the things I'm about to say are right or not, but this is just what I thought?
If what Yazzminn said is true about "Lipstick Lullabies", then "Say hello to all the boys at the top of this table that you're under" could be about her giving endless guys oral sex?
Or, it could just be a metaphore for all the guys she has been with for no reason.
Maybe he kept finding out about all of the different guys she'd been giving oral to/cheating with? And that's why it says "This is sorry for the last time"?
I have no idea really. But, I hope this might help a little bit? xD
I'm probably completely wrong, but ohwell.

General Comment:Lipstick lullabies is when a woman using too much lipstick gives a guy oral sex, while humming her favorite song. I would assume that he is meaning it the same way in the song

General Comment:Basically she is a cheater and he is saying it hurts him in such a non emotional tone. He's saying he will deal with it though.

General Comment:I actually got introduced to this song by my bf, and now I know why he loves it so much! This song totally helped him through his breakup with his ex who can perfectly be described as the girl in this song. Every single thing that is named is this song happened to my bf. She was unfaithful, he didn't expect it to end that way, but wants it to be over with, as the girl in this song is still holding on and wants to start over. She makes all her new friends totry to get them to be sympathetic towards her, although she was wrong. I think lipstick lullabies refers to her putting someone to bed and obviously kissig them in an affectionate way. She is also a simple whore because the song describes a girl who seems to get around, just for a quick fix. The singer thought maybe he was different, but he's not and he let's her know that she wasn't different or special either because she's just a habitual cheater. I love this song!
