    My Interpretation:This is basically a break up song. This relates to my situation so much right now. My boyfriend ALWAYS said I was his best friend and would always want to be, that even if/when we broke up we'd still be good friends. When he broke up he said much the same. Now he is always on and off with me and can be very cold. It's like he's breaking my heart all over again cause I still care about him and wish we could be good friends again. :(
    So to me, it's about breaking up, and how he will say all these empty promises to you, but in the end, he won't stay true to them.

    the last three are the things he loved about her, but he still screwed her over like it wasn't enough.

    and i think the chorus is like, she wants him to tell her all these things and when he doesl she's calling him a liar because she knows it isn't true.

    Instant Star is also very amazing and in the show, her producer, otherwise known as Tommy, sort of - leaves her hanging on strings and she really has this thing for him and oh.. well, you should just watch (:

    General Comment:This is a great song. I think this song is more about her reflecting on an old boyfriend and how she wanted to hear all those beautiful things in the chorus but knowing deep down that they were all lies.

    General Comment:I can't decide whether this song is asking the guy who lied to her to begin with to continue to lie to her to make her feel better when she is already in love with someone who betrayed her, or if it's just reflecting on things he said that turned out to be a lie. Most likely the first part?

    For me, this is how I interpret it: how can you tell me that you'll always be there, that you'll always love me, and all that fun stuff when in the end you prove that you won't?

    I think it's the sudden impact of the truth. You lied to me. You broke my heart. You are a liar... now what, because I still love you. I think this song will be on repeat for the next year...
