    General Comment:He wants "this person" to live a life full of happiness, but along the way, just know he loves her. It's all he wants, for her to be happy (I interpret it as a girl :3) He wants her to be something someday, and that she gets where she wants to go.

    General Comment:I adore this song. It's kind of a long story, but in short I heard it for the first time about 2 years ago when my current boyfriend (we were just friends back then) was taking me home and he played it for me. It was before we were dating, and my previous boyfriend had broken up with me a few months before. I didn't know who I liked at the time and didn't know what was the right thing to do. This song was perfect for the situation and made me cry. I knew that it was the right decision; I'd loved him from the start. we've now been dating for almost 2 years and it has been our song ever since. The 'wish' they are talking about is that no matter what happens, they hope you do the right thing and know that someone is there for you and you should never feel alone. "And if you're faced with a choice and you have to choose, I hope you choose the one that means the most to you" is my favorite line. I chose what meant the most to me. <3

    My Interpretation:The bloke I was seeing just moved away and the decision is that we wouldn't work long distance, always was. But I never thought he'd really go, and I never thought I'd believe it would be easier to be his girl and barely see him than to move on/get over him. But it would be, much. It's just too late now, he doesn't want me. It wouldn't have ever happened anyway.
    I love him so much, but this is my wish for him.
    I think it really says: You've gone away, but you're wonderful. I hope you're happy. Remember that someone loves you, and don't regret going, but don't forget home either.

    Memory:my boyfriend suffered from leukemia last year and made a video for me with this song before he died. it means so much to me . . . it's kind of like someone saying they really care about you even if you can't be together forever.
