Lyrics for Ballroom Blitz as interpreted by Lateralus518

Ballroom Blitz Lyrics
Are you ready, Steve? Aha.
Andy? Yeah! Mick? OK.
Alright, fellas, let's go!

Oh it's been getting so hard
Livin' with the things you do to me, aha
Oh my dreams are getting so strange
I'd like to tell you everything I see
Oh, I see a man at the back
As a matter of fact his eyes are red as the sun
And a girl in the corner let no one ignore her
'Cause she thinks she's the passionate one

Oh, yeah, it was like lightning, everybody was frightening
And the music was soothing, and they all started grooving

Yeah, Yeah, Yeah, Yeah, Yeah
And the man at the back said
Everyone attack and it turned into a ballroom blitz
And the girl in the corner said
Boy, I wanna warn ya, it'll turn into a ballroom blitz
Ballroom blitz, ballroom blitz, ballroom blitz
Ballroom blitz

I'm reaching out for something
Touching nothing's all I ever do
Oh, I softly call you over
When you appear there's nothing left of you, aha
Now the man in the back
Is ready to crack as he raises his hands to the sky
And the girl in the corner is ev'ryone's mourner
She could kill you with a wink of her eye

Oh yeah, it was electric, so frightfully hectic
And the band started leaving, 'cause they all stopped breathing

Refrain

Oh yeah, it was like lightning, everybody was frightening
And the music was soothing, and they all started grooving

Refrain

It's it's a ballroom blitz, it's it's a ballroom blitz
It's it's a ballroom blitz, yeah, it's a ballroom blitz

Yes it was fdone by Sweet, not Queen. These lyrics are the form the sweet version. The Misfits version sounds old and creepier IMO. Why would they use the Mick,Steve, and Andy? You have to might have to download the song 17734G477Y because I can't find this on any of the CDs.

Because when Sweet did this song that's what they said at the begginning. Their names. So it became part of the song. Like when Pink Floyd had those voices in the backrounds, that was part of the song.

Theres a version by the Long Tall Texans that i like a lot more than this one. The upright bass is way better and its more up-beat. But i like this one too :)

TVMClown, read the track list on "Project 1950's" please. Ballroom Blitz is NOT listed as a track on that CD. I've never heard a misfits cover of this song and i highly doubt one exsists. if you have the song, however, feel free to prove me wrong and e-mail it to me x_rubysoho_x@hotmail.com thanks.

Owned, you arrogant moron. If you follow your own link, you'd see Ballroom Blitz is not on that list. The Misfits have never done this song.

"The Ballroom Blitz" (on some releases abbreviated to "Ballroom Blitz") is a song written by Nicky Chinn and Mike Chapman and originally recorded by the glam rock band Sweet. It was released as a single in 1973, where it reached number 1 in Australia and entered at number 2 in the UK singles chart but failed to go to number one. The song reached number 5 in the States and was one of that country's biggest hits of 1975. "The Ballroom Blitz" appeared on the U.S. version of The Sweet's 1974 album Desolation Boulevard. "The Ballroom Blitz" remains one of The Sweet's best-known songs and has been covered by a variety of artists. The song itself was written about the Grand Hall of the Palace Theatre in Kilmarnock, Scotland, after the band was forced off stage by a barrage of bottles. [1]
