Wait don't go
I still got to say a few words
Pray for some hope, for some hope, for some hope
And will I ever love again
I just don't know
Like a match I'm burning out
Ashes will blow
Fading in and fading out
My hearts a trip
Back and fourth in my mind
I'll take a sip
And I'm sorry couldn't get to you
And I heard you calling
Sorry that I turned my back, turned my back
Didn't stop your crying
These scars they run so deep
And I take it all back now
Hate but don't show
Switching up just to feel love
Stay but I know, yes I know, yes I know
That your not ever coming back
Why do I wait
Knowing that it's all my fault
Stuck in replay
Asking why I'm so caught up
It's only love
Screaming out for what I want
But it's not enough
And I'm sorry couldn't get to you
And I heard you calling
Sorry that I turned my back, turned my back
Didn't stop your crying
These scars they run so deep
And I take it all back now

bad bills have no respect for a decent mans`s rest flopping on the doorstep, outlined in colour red.

Genius!! Find me a better couplet in a pop song ever.

Had the great pleasure of tour managing the support band on a 20 date tour supporting MES and the boys.Glad it wasn`t them though as I saw him spit at and punch his own band members.Where are the obligatory niggers !!!!

Classic love story true to his western tx roots. One of my favorites as a story, but I think there are alot of songs that are amazing not even listed on this site. I guess I should figure out how to add them, because I have about 8 REK cd's.

Like a lot of the other comments are saying, I think this mainly about voyeurism. If the song was about his girlfriend, then why would he use the word spy. If you are a spy it means you shouldn't be caught, that is kind of the whole point, and if you are a voyeur, the whole point of the pleasure you get from it, is the fact that the other people don't know you are watching them. See a bit of a connection there?

Light Up The Sky
Van Halen
The song lyrics were written by the band Van Halen, as they were asked to write a song for the 1979 movie "Over the Edge" starring Matt Dillon. The movie (and the lyrics, although more obliquely) are about bored, rebellious youth with nothing better to do than get into trouble. If you see the movie, these lyrics will make more sense. It's a great movie if you grew up in the 70s/80s you'll definitely remember some of these characters from your own life. Fun fact, after writing the song, Van Halen decided not to let the movie use it.

Mountain Song
Jane's Addiction
Jane's Addiction vocalist Perry Farrell gives Adam Reader some heartfelt insight into Jane’s Addiction's hard rock manifesto "Mountain Song", which was the second single from their revolutionary album Nothing's Shocking. Mountain song was first recorded in 1986 and appeared on the soundtrack to the film Dudes starring Jon Cryer. The version on Nothing's Shocking was re-recorded in 1988. "'Mountain Song' was actually about... I hate to say it but... drugs. Climbing this mountain and getting as high as you can, and then coming down that mountain," reveals Farrell. "What it feels to descend from the mountain top... not easy at all. The ascension is tough but exhilarating. Getting down is... it's a real bummer. Drugs is not for everybody obviously. For me, I wanted to experience the heights, and the lows come along with it." "There's a part - 'Cash in now honey, cash in Miss Smith.' Miss Smith is my Mother; our last name was Smith. Cashing in when she cashed in her life. So... she decided that, to her... at that time, she was desperate. Life wasn't worth it for her, that was her opinion. Some people think, never take your life, and some people find that their life isn't worth living. She was in love with my Dad, and my Dad was not faithful to her, and it broke her heart. She was very desperate and she did something that I know she regrets."
