Lyrics for Soon Enough as interpreted by wrat

Soon Enough Lyrics
Years from now, they will make water from the reservoirs of our idiot tempers.

Soon enough, work and love will make a man out of you. Through and through.

Your gentleman father would pray for a daughter, as he walked from room to room saying

"Women are winning the tournament of hearts. Somebody's got to lose..."

Soon enough, work and love will make a man out of you. Through and through.

Soon enough.

Beautiful. Tournament of hearts is one of my favorite albums of all time. The lines "Work and love will make a man out of you. Through and Through" give me shivers every time.

^ I agree. I get such shivers when I hear this. It's about real life and how you will become a man through work and love. The "gentleman father" prays for a daughter because he realizes how much love and work helped him become who he is.

I always thought that he prayed for a daughter because he didn't want his son to have to go through all the hardship of work and love. As in, it's backbreaking (or heart breaking) and it will take its toll.

Amazing song.

I agree with 'Wambs'
With the hardships that the father figure endures a daughter wouldn't have to go through it.

Also with women 'winning the tournaments of hearts' he doesn't want a son to have to be at the receiving end of a broken heart.

Thoughtful lyrics.
