finally got the cd and heard it, and brandon sounds alot like the guy from panic!atd, the music reminds me of something out of a disney movie, and the lyrics are very strange ------> VERY different from the rest.

Ok, as an introduction, atreyu is one of my favorite bands, and i really like their old stuff from The Curse, which is in my opinion their best cd, but i also like the new cd. I thought this song was an amazing deviation for them off their usual type of song. Even though it was different, it still had atreyu's style. i thought it was great.

to absolution... i dont think atreyus seeling out, they just went off their normal style for one song

I really fell in love with this song and its one of my favorites....
Unfortunately the video they made for it is incredibly boring...
Maybe I should watch it again, there must be some meaning behind it.

ok so everyone on here that has insulted this song is a raging homosexual.....this song is amazing....prolly one of atreyus best songs....it takes talent to switch over to such a unique style for atreyu.....i respect them a lot for making this song...if u guys just broaden ur horizons in music and actually understood a damn thing about music u would understand y this song is so good. but u all pretend to know somethiung bout music.....when in fact u know nothing.

This song is about a boy, who gets crushed more and more as he gets older... and then finally hes outside in the winter reflecting on his life... and he remembers what its like to feel alive again.

i think if the video has nething to do with the song it provides this EXAMPLE..

a man works hard his whole life and follows an empty ambition and he consumes himself with work so much he looks back and he's left with nothing that really matters to him..his whole life speeded by and now he's just old and broken

i think this was one meaning the video tried to portray but im sure theres millions of more ways to relate like with a girlfriend, himself as a child, etc etc.

first let me say that i dont usually listen to atreyu but i've heard some of their earlier stuff and when i heard this song i couldn't believe it. this song is good. i love it so much. i think i agree w/ anyone w/ the theory of how the character in this song is dealing w/ a loss of innocence/loss of his life due to work/finding out what if feels like to live but its too late...etc.really great son

is it just me but is there someone going 'bop bop bop' when hes singing the chorus...idk. whatever.

to me its about a man who goes out of his way for everyone else, always there to help. Hes always used/take advantage of and never given the same courtesy he shows everyone else and one day it all gets to him and he snaps but then returns to the way he was . . . despite that no one else has chaged

thats just my interpretation anyway

this songs about the loss of innocence. if you watch the video it makes perfect sense. it's about a guy who has forgotten whats really important and beautiful to him. he's lost himself in a lie that other people have made for him. in the video it shows a kid playing with an airplane or something, and then it switches over to the kid winning some award, he's probably really smart or something, and then he goes on to become like a lawer or some executive for a company, all he really wants to do is be the little kid again and enjoy the simplicity he used to have, but it was all taken away from him. hence the name of the song , the theft. it's actually a really deep song

This song is right in the song TITLE, people. It isn't hard to decipher at all. It is about a boy who is introduced to the business world at an early time in his life, and his life is gradually stolen away, hence, "The Theft". If you have ever seen the music video, you'll see. After he dies/passes on, he is reintroduced to that simplicity and innocence he remembers from his early childhood.

This song reminds me so much of Edward Scissorhands, as somebody said. Especially this verse:

First song of theirs I've ever heard. When I first listened to it, I was like "Wow." Based on other ppl's posts, I'm guessing they're usually more heavy than this. But that's awesome, I really like a band that tries to vary their style.

what the fuck is this "utterly gay lyrics from B12" first of all this is prob one of atreyu's best songs u don' think cuz alex ain't screaming well maybe he doesn't wanna end up like Sonny Moore anyway im done with that. when i first heard this song i thought its probably about a girl and it reminded me of my ex "He Bends And He Breaks, If You Kiss Will Take Away, His Passion, His Pain, His Grace" well thats what i think about this song

I agree with AtreyuxRoxs. JUst because they don't scream their motherfuckin guts doesn't mean its a bad atrey song/ This is my 3rd fav song by atreyu(after bleeding mascara and lip gloss and black) I was surprised when i learned he had such a great voice.

I think they're is a heavy duality in this song.

First, their is an issue with a girl. It has to do with him giving everything and recieving nothing in return. It eventually eats him alive leaving him numb. Climb down to test the waters, my hands feel like they are rusting away would refer to trying to get away from her but realizing that no one can match in his eyes what he has found. So he waits like a lamb to be slaughtered IE crushed by this girl who takes advantage of him. So instead of meeting new girls he will just let this one crush him.

The second duality which I'm surprised no one mentioned has a similar meaning to the first but replace girl with Victory records. He gives and gives to them and they abuse and expolit what they have put their heart and soul into. I.E the "best of" CD. (I already have the best of CD but its called all 3 CD's, there isn't one CD that can sum it up.)

I thkn the Video reinforces the business theory. But when he is the kid walking through the ballroom, i think its representative of how he felt. He was actually a grown man that still felt like a kid. At then end he realizes what is important IE making the music your passionate about and not what some coorporate execs want.
