So this is what were up against
So this is what were up against!

Face it
This is what were up,up against
Your waiting
And every minute is a minute away
Face it
This is what were up,up against
Your waiting
And every minute is a minute away

Regrets always work
Excuses work better
A practical exchange
Or a trade for the truth
But you know it never held on
(but you know it never held on)
Pretend it's still good now

Face it
This is what were up,up against
Your waiting
And every minute is a minute away
Face it
This is what were up,up against
Your waiting
And every minute is a minute away

Were turning our clocks back
Just never our self
So go with the flow just relax (just relax)
You never feel the jet lag
Unless your trying to fit in (fit in)

Face it
This is what were up,up against
Your waiting
And every minute is a minute away
Face it
This is what were up,up against
Your waiting
And every minute is a minute away
(every minute is a minute away)

Less is more
Except when it comes to mistake
How long is long
That depends how long it takes
Less is more
Except when it comes to mistake
How long is long
That depends how long it takes

Not years
Not months
Not days
Your blackout memories

General Comment:I'm trying to figure out how to add a correction to the song, so I can fix the misuse of "your" and the missing apostrophes, but I can't find the button to do so. Any help, guys?

General Comment:Maybe I'm completely wrong here, but I kinda thought the song was about growing up in a way. Basically saying, here's adulthood and the real world

What I really wanted to say, is for the people who thought they were stealing lyrics from Brand New...don't you guys know the songs go together? Read the real meaning behind "There's no I in team"-it explains how the two friends from the bands were fighting.
And why would you bash taking back sunday on a song meanings site? I don't understand

General Comment:Maybe the song "sucks" to everyone because they haven't been in the same situation as the strong writer. I can closely relate to this song. The lyrics kind of suck, but they're from the heart. And that's the only way I can get into lyrics, they either have to make me feel something, or get me thinking logically about shit and make me say "damn, that was clever". Most of the time, TBS is the earlier.

The song is about the akwardness of a relationship.
The song writer and the person it is about both like each other, and they both know it. But something stopped them. Perhaps they both have trust issues. But they both know they can't live on like this, they want each other, but their thoughts are fueled by the past. They just want to go back into time and fix the mess, but neither of them want to take the initiative to do it. They're both afraid of failing, so now they are waiting.. maybe hoping things will become like they were back then.

    General Comment:!!!.
i know what you mean, but i do kind of agree with noseovertail. i mean, yeah, i think for the most part they hear a phrase or a line of a song they like, and sort of morph it into somethign thats their own, but still having the generally concept from whatever they took it from. But with there's no 'I' in team, as much as i hate to admit it, they did kinda take brand news lryics. because the whole "is that what you call tact" thing doesnt seem liek soemthign ANYONE would say on the phone. but even if that was said on the phone, you cant really explain the "have another drink adn drive youreslf home,i hope theres ice all on the roads" thing. which can be heard VERY QUITELY in tehres no i in team. uhm yeah now i have no idea what these lyrics mean. at all. but idk maybe its just trying to say get over the fact that this is what were against. and whoever said that bit about tella ll your friends and trying to mkae an albuma s good as that or whatever, i couldnt agree more, and you are a genius for htinking of that.
