Lyrics for I'll Attack as interpreted by ingriiid

I'll Attack Lyrics
I won't suffer, be broken
Get tired, or wasted
Surrender to nothing
I'll give up what I
Started
And stoped it
From end to beginning
A new day is calling
And I am finally free

Runaway, Runaway
I'll attack
Runaway, Runaway
Go chase yourself
Runaway, Runaway
Now I'll attack
I'll attack, I'll attack

I would've kept you forever
But we had to sever
It ended for both of us
Faster than a...
kill off this thinking
It's starting to sink in
I'm losing control now
But without you I can finally see

Runaway, Runaway
I'll attack
Runaway, Runaway
Go chase yourself
Runaway, Runaway
Now I'll attack
I'll attack, I'll attack

Your promises
They look like lies
Your honesty's
Like a back that hides a knife
I promise you (promise you)
I promise you (promise you)
I am finally free

Runaway, Runaway
I'll attack
Runaway, Runaway
Go chase yourself
Runaway, Runaway
Now I'll attack
I'll attack, I'll attack
I will attack

Runaway
I'll attack, I will attack
Runaway
I'll attack, I will attack
Runaway, runaway
Now I'll attack, I'll attack

Your promises (promises, promises)
I promise you (promise you)
I promise you (promise you, promise you...)

I agree that this song could be about a drug addiction, especially because of the lines, "I won't suffer, be broken
Get tired, or wasted." However, it could also be about a relationship that the narrator is angry about. The song could be his argument, while his girlfiend turns her back on him.

Either those two ^ interpretations above, or it could be about surviving anything. People have different problems/addictions, so it could be saying I'll leave *whatever* behind and attack so it can't take me back. I don't know... lol.

Its about getting out of a bad Relationship , with out the other person they can finaly be free and see and have a better life..but the other person wants them back..thus the I'll attack. They like what they have and they won't go back to the hell they were in.
And you do know that the title is Attack...no I'll...thought i'd type that.....

by the way i hope that made sence i kinda rambled...

when he says he won't get wasted , he's probably talking about drugs, so i'll go with the bad relationship thing

i dont know what it means but in a interview with 30stm jared said it's a sexual song...so i dono. i think it's about giving up a person. and he's never had a drug addiction and he writes all the lyrics.

aw I love Jared Leto, it really doesnt suprise me that he's never had a drug addiction ~ i can see him as being super careful with that kinda stuff. I like this song ~ dont really know anything that hasnt already been said. I think his hair looks better in the ideo for The Kill rather than This one....x

im more for the relationship mainly because. "your promises are like a back that hides knife" or something like that..last i saw, drugs dont talk to people. or promise anything. yes drugs can give a sort of happiness to people. but everyone knows the concequances when starting drugs. they go to them knowing that there not finding everlasting happiness. and in most relationships 'forever' is a word thrown around and meaning nothing.

First off, my vote is for the relationship one. I think it is about a relationship especially when he says "Without you I can finally say" and "I am finally free". this kinda says that in the relationship she kinda held him back and now he can be free and go crazy.

Second off, i agree with Ize. Jared' hair definitely looks better in the video for The Kill.

Lastly, you guys know that this song is called "Attack", not "I'll Attack", right? These lyrics are posted on here twice.

strangley this song is good to listen to as backing music.

i stood for an hour watching my friend play polo in the cold.

just imagine it: stood, in the cold, watching a game i don't understand, just to make him happy, with 30 seconds to mars playing in my ears.

it really works.
try it some time?

whether it talks about drugs or realationships....
it makes a clear point, that they're tired of being tied down, and they've finally confronted their own demons

weird.. or should I say cool?
cos for me, this song is about bad relationship indeed, but with family.

whenever I listen to this song, all I can think of is family that never believe in us, always trying to put us down, and keep breaking their promises (take their promises to us lightly)

You're talking about topic, not idea. Superficcially besides. Mb the topic is his ex or drugs, or family, it doesn't matter actually! The idea! That matters! The idea is deeper. Whatever it is: drugs, family, ex's - u have to fight, never give up. It's like an anthem for fallen, appeal to struggle!
Great song actually, optimistic one. The only one optimistic from 30stm, I guess)
