The water ain't safe, the land's made of water
I hug a half empty glass my dignity's trying to corner
I'm trying to see the future in a tea cup and a saucer
But I rather be drinking coffee with my cigarette foster
And a run away buckle the cloud-nine fantasy filter to force the
brutal truth
Of daily market place wars through the roof
I mean I stood beneath the icicles that bleed under the yawning
And magically mastered the great absorbing of spirit falling
But I'm sick, I've plowed these fields a thousand times over
Sold botanicle research studies to farmers with whole quarters
And when science proposes to art besides that peace-full sea
I'll be that cat with a ring on a pillow shouting finally
Take a number, the apple seeds rained upon each slumber
A hundred thousand freaks on parade for the village hunter
My every when acted upon has gone loopy
But I play a game called lets prepare barnacle city for the end
or new sink
I split the radius at go getter bellies, reconnaissance
Seeping fossil genie bottle optimist freeze
Run from the fountain but the fountain is a desert optical
tease
Tummy full of sand running man impossible stop
There's a wing in my gut and i'm all dust
Surfing the earth and I dine-rise certainly flushed
Now one in the hands work to and top the toilet seater
But what lies inside my heart is off the mother fucking meter

See the Water ain't safe no more
'I'm just trying to build my self to act as a truley better man
damn'
See the water ain't safe no more
'Nah nah the water ain't safe no more'
I'm just trying to be a solid oak tree for every child to carve
its name across
'The water ain't safe no more'
I'm just trying to be the dream of ever peasant the hurricane
can offer
'I'm just trying to be some body I can talk to in the morining
with a smile'
The Water ain't safe no more..

And i've always been a 40 night chronologic hostage
Rusted hook in the lip of the monarch
Wingless Anime
I don't play in the man race cycle
Hope floater
Gloating inside carnal indifference till doom cops are slight
and
potent quotas
I'm 20 something pumping acrylic tomorrow side ways
Blazing passage with a map tattooed on the back of the classless
Now tip toe across a lost cause
Because a lost cause found
Don't mean you found a cause
That means you found a lost cause
Ok now ive been here for role playing
Slaying my here and now
To benefit consumption for my peers stiring the plow
And its incredible
Handy jackets turn numerals to sentinels
But bad apples ain't sweet and cretins ain't that memorable
I'm Mozart with a focus on the tide
Hiding the inconsistencies of man behind water and wine
I wear a tiger stripped ego and bilbo act my progression
With a kingliness formulated through the flesh of the oppressors
God had a flask I can prove it
You really think the 13 loops that loose daughter
spawned me a sober unit, check potion
Addressed the ghost inside my TV with a ruler
At hear to the back bone stone pusher
Here ten thousand hackers deep in a movment
Thats 20,000 crucial ruby heels clicking in unisan
It's beautiful, truly beautiful
I keep a stick inside my hand
and carve my name inside every wall of the falling hologram

See the Water ain't safe no more
'I'm just trying to build my self to act as a truley better man
damn'
See the water ain't safe no more
'Nah nah the water ain't safe no more'
I'm just trying to be a solid oak tree for every child to carve
its name across
'The water ain't safe no more'
I'm just trying to be the dream of ever peasant the hurricane
can offer
'I'm just trying to be some body I can talk to in the morining
with a smile'
The Water ain't safe no more...

General Comment:This is one of my favorite lines by Aesop, ever:

"And when science proposes to art besides that peace-full sea
I'll be that cat with a ring on a pillow shouting finally"

I think in his head he's saying he'll be the ring-bearer at the wedding because he'll be so excited that science and art are finally on the same page which is what humanity needs (to integrate and work together) that he'll have first row seating to the wedding.

But I prefer my own image and philosophy that this lyric conjures up in my head. Which is, by the time science and art become one he'll have already gotten married and moved on with his life. It didn't matter to him if it never happened, but of course there's always that side of you that wants to see humanity rise to a higher level. So I envision myself waking up in the morning on my pillow next to my wife. She tells me that science and art are finally married. "Finally" I say. But I say it in a chill way, I'm happy, but I didn't let the outcome of it all run my life. Like I said it didn't matter either way I as a person am not going to sit around waiting for something that might not ever happen. I'm going to get married (doesn't have to be marriage whatever you think life is all about) and live my life and not be dependent on 'what if's'...Does that make sense to anyone? Cause I fucking love that line.

General Comment:i think the over all meaning is that nothing is safe or 'pure' any more. delving too deep into aesop's writing is quite difficult because of his style of writing its complicated and the incessant metaphors and such make a clear message only interpretable to the person doing the interpreting. all i have to say is that lyrically this song is magnificent.

oh and i think the whole "God had a flask I can prove it
You really think the 13 loops that loose daughter
spawned me a sober unit" means that even God has human qualities and corruptions, so the very concept of god carrying a flask is absurd and implies that God is an alcoholic. and thus, corrupt.

    mmkay im done now

General Comment:this entire song is about christianity. As mentioned in other songs Aes is an athiest but he was raised catholic. He is essentially saying that religion is good but when people start to take it literally it becomes unsafe and rather destructive. The chorus is telling us what religion is for (in aes' mind). What he says it's for basically is just to teach people how to be better people, "just trying to be a person i can talk to in the morning with a smile".
When he says "im going to be the most beautiful second coming of christ that any of you had ever seen" he is referencing the fact that people really truly believe that Jesus had any special "powers" and he is also saying that all he is doing with this song is trying to get his point across, much in the same way that the biblical Jesus made everybody realize that they were sinful and needed to change their ways.

That's it...think I'm on the right track with this?

General Comment:My shot at the first chunk :)

so, i'm getting the vibe that he's simultaneously bagging on religion and the global environment at the same time.
Jesus is often referred to as a fountain (of eternal life). However, (people with) religion (is/are) no longer safe in these times. That water isn't the currency anymore, although it is what our country (the land) was built upon. It was abused (turned to blood if you will) and is now no longer legit; the people now have no where to turn to for assurance or faith. Thus, we crumble.

"The water ain't safe, the land's made of water
I hug a half empty glass my dignity's trying to corner
I'm trying to see the future in a tea cup and a saucer
But I rather be drinking coffee with my cigarette foster
And a run away buckle the cloud-nine fantasy filter to force the
    brutal truth
Of daily market place wars through the roof
I mean I stood beneath the icicles that bleed under the yawning
And magically mastered the great absorbing of spirit falling"

That's all him trying to search for hope (halfheartedly, we can guess. the cup is half empty after all)
and again, he expresses no desire for water, craving coffee (a very American symbol, representing a crowdedm busy, and restless lifestyle) and cigarettes (anything we've become dependent on in place of the dirty water) in its place
He tries to escape grim reality (escape to cloud nine) with these, but the truth is that it's all greed and competition (market wars)

"But I'm sick, I've plowed these fields a thousand times over
Sold botanicle research studies to farmers with whole quarters
And when science proposes to art besides that peace-full sea
I'll be that cat with a ring on a pillow shouting finally"

Here, he is begging for a common ground/peace between science and nature, that are often colliding in modern day battles. however, both fields require water which, again, is not safe. So, mankind's inventions and Mother Nature conflict, as thye continually battle and disprove one another

"Take a number, the apple seeds rained upon each slumber
A hundred thousand freaks on parade for the village hunter
My every (?) when acted upon has gone loopy
But I play a game called lets prepare barnacle city for the end
    or new sink"

It's basically a very "don't get your hopes up, the word sucks, the water isn't safe" verse. I'll have to be vague...some finer points elude me.

"I split the radius at go getter bellies, reconnaissance
Seeping fossil genie bottle optimist freeze
Run from the fountain but the fountain is a desert optical
    tease
Tummy full of sand running man impossible stop
There's a wing in my gut and i'm all dust
Surfing the earth and I dine-rise certainly flushed
Now one in the hands work to and top the toilet seater
But what lies inside my heart is off the mother fucking meter"

    This one's sort of self-explanatory.
He's hoping for a reconnaisance (rebirth if you will) in the earth that is denied by our habits (seeping fossil fuels..genie bottle = aerosol cans? or the belief it can be all fixed with a simple snap, freezng us on a fake optimism)

The water isn't safe; the fountain is a mirage (your hopes for security and safety simply do not exist)
meanwhile, as we try to get by on whatever's left(with a tummy full of a sand), we find we can't stop. Faith/religion OR aspirations/chances for success were consumed in the curruption of the water.
He's (and everyone's) just dining high and surfing the Earth, although in his heart, the conviction that something's f-d up plagues him (But what lies inside my heart is off the mother fucking meter)

there goes my first try :)

General Comment:"God had a flask i can prove it"
i think he's saying jesus used tricks to turn water into wine. thats my rigid translation.

id say "At here" is adhere
wingless anime -> weightless anime idol.
"My every when acted upon has gone loopy" -> "my every whim acted upon is called loopy"
    "whole quaters" -> "hope quotas"

i agree with neonatuku but have wrestled with the possiblity that aesop is referring to holy water. theres a lot of religion references here. i cant help but think of percy shelly's "ozymandius" at the end of verse 1.

General Comment:taking a stab at these lines:

My every whim acted upon's gone loopy
But I play a game called let's prepare barnacle city for the end-all noosings
I split the radius at go-getter bellies, reconnaissance
Seeping fossil genie bottle optimist; Freeze!
Run for the fountain but the fountain's a desert optical tease
Tummy full of sand. Running man? Impossible. Stop!
There's a wing in my gut and I'm all dust
Surfing the earth and itineris' certainly flushed
Now one in the hand's worth two atop the toilet seater
But what lies inside my heart is off the motherfucking meter

    itineris->itinerant:wandering, roving, nomadic, vagrant, migratory
