Fed up with "I made you look"
And Dirty Crooks without a clue
You're here to save face
And I say hangman, I'm on to you

Hangman, it's not your fault
Commit this to memory
The bright ideas are wasted and lost along the way

Last call for medicine
To count me in and turn me loose
I never meant to hurt anything
But I never cared too

[Chorus]

COMMIT THIS TO MEMORY
(commit this to memory)
COMMIT THIS TO MEMORY
(commit this to memory)
COMMIT THIS TO MEMORY
(commit this to memory)
COMMIT THIS TO MEMORY

I'm just a guy that never tried
I'm just a stupid fuck with brilliant luck
And sometimes a bright idea
So shower me in a chorus of compliments
And verse I don't deserve
I might run but I'll never hide

Hey, that's not right
You can't complain
"everything's gonna be just fine"
Said the bird to the powerline
If memory serves, they're my flowers
This game's called "catch me if you can"
As if we haven't already been through enough

Fed up with "made you look"
And dirty crooks without a clue
You're here to save face
And I say Hangman I'm on to you

General Comment:I think this song is about how in relationships, people tend to give limits to their others when arguing and fighting, thus the whole hangman concept wherein a couple of bad choices can kill.
And how Justin is fed up with this whole system of fighting.
And sometimes, we blame the argument and let it carry the whole relationship, instead of using that argument as a way of fixing things, that's why he says "Hangman, it's not your fault", you know, like, when someone makes a mistake, and this mistakes becomes almost the shit of everything, that's where the "commit this to memory" line comes in, then one day, people tend to bring the mistake up, and you've just been hanged.
"the bright ideas always get lost along the way" pretty much somes up how the argument ends up, because of the "hangman" concept.

General Comment:I really adore Mark Hoppus in this song. It's a great song in general, but as aforementioned by someone else, Mark Hoppus totally changes my outlook on this song. Amazing.

General Comment:I think that justin may be putting himself in this song as the "hangman" this may be apart of prescribed pills or about the music buisness. i have not a complete idea about this.
