war is wrong. civilians should not be killed for nothing. when you bomb a coutnry against a tyrant the tyrant should not be the one left alive, and the civilians should not be left dead.

How can you say war is wrong? War is the reason you're here, war is the reason you don't speak with a British accent and don't answer to parliament. War is a necessity, war is like water, we have to have it or nothing would be like it is now. Civilians should not be killed, but sadly they are sometimes. It's simply a cost of war. However, would you still feel this way knowing that the very same civilians you try and save are in fact killing our sons and daughters as we speak?

Don't get me wrong, I don't advocate the senseless slaughter of unarmed civilians, but when those civilians take up arms, they're no longer civilians and while you don't hear about it in the news, that is actually happening.

American scum should get the fuck out of Iraq, no ifs buts or limp justifications about how its ok to kill civilians if "in fact killing our sons and daughters" well la de la, what the fuck are the americans doing in there in the first place? I don't care what reasons, in fact this shows why terrorism is good, if it kills useless pricks who justify killing innocent civilians, then you know..."its simply the cost of war"
I'm taking the piss out of Avandir, btw, who really needs to learn about the world rather than display his disturbing mindset.

I love this song, even though there are barely any lyrics and most of it is just a huge jam session i still think its the most haunting and extremely powerful song on the album i think thats why they named the album after the song or vice versa. It should be the sountrack to the war in Iraq.

Ok well... you guys forgot to comment on the instrumental part of the song.

To begin with.. after Randy's first tid bit.
That's when all of the people are frantically running in confusion and then when the non-stop bass drum comes in that's when machine guns are going off and the guitars are portraying the work of the planes.... right after the dive bomb of the guitars is when the planes fly in and carpet bomb the shit out of the place..... then more machine gun fire and shit going off while the planes are carpet bombing elsewhere. Then when it slows down is when the cease fire.... and the other place that was bombed is just all smokey and there's burning debree and bodies.... then it's just confusion and silence, but right when the guitar solo comes the first time is when there's people shaking, shocked at what just happened... people bruning... people dying... people suffering... people missing limbs... The second time the guitar solo comes is when they start realizing what just happened... and have to start moving on with their orders and continue their parade.

This song is terrifying... it's a work of art... you have to really picture the madness... What I wrote above is What I was thinking while listening to the song.

Chris_Ryff, the war in Iraq is actually causing MORE terror. Believe it or not, when we go fuck with people and kill their children they want to fight back. Iraq has nothing to do with the war of (excuse me, on) terror. Saddam Hussein actually gave an effort to aprehend Osama bin Laden. How is Iraq better now? They have chaos and war across the whole country. You cannot go into a foreign country and force a revolution on them, the people have to start the revolution.

Avandir, since when does war create life? I always thought it was sex. How would I be speaking with a British accent without war? If there was never war the world would be extremely different. Rome wouldn't have counquered the majority of the known world, therefor Latin wouldn't be as widespread. English was originally created out of Latin, if there was no war, Latin would never have reached England. How could the people of that area create a language using a large influence from something they didn't know about?

Well anyway, if it wasn't for war we could all live together as a brotherhood of man. I'm not sure why that is so unappealing.

By the way, I'm an American that cares more about people than my corrupt country and government. I just always thought people were more important than the illusion that we call government.

jesus christ strokeslost your idea + ashes of the wake = new arsehole torn. thats scary. lamb of god did exactly wat they wanted to do with this song, which is making civilians feel the effect the war has on people in baghdad. i used to think that metallica - Call Of Ktulu was the best instrumental, and it pains me to say this, but Ashes Of The Wake just owns it. fuct up owns it.

strokeslot has a good interpretation there, just listen to the music with your eyes shut and see what your mind conjures up! theres some amazing and terrifying imagery here. i see an iraqi city at night, with american soldiers positioned outside. theres an explosion somewhere, and all of a sudden people start running around everywhere, including a civilian running towards the americans. they think he's a terrorist, and gun him down ruthlessly. this sends the people into even more panic, and the whole city erupts into a godzilla - movie style turmoil, with building burning, people shooting each other, and the screams of the maimed and the mourning erupting into the night...

its scary stuff, and powerful too. the entire song is a masterpiece.
