Lyrics for Bees as interpreted by couldBanyone

Bees Lyrics
So sudden
The bees
They came flying
So violent
The bees
They came sly
So scary
The bees
They came wide
So wild
The bees
They came crying
They said: "I take my time"
You take your time
Please take your time
I take my time
I take my time
You take your time
Just take your time
I take my time

And if you need us
And if you neeeeeed
The bees (x6)
*garbled sounds*
And if you need us
Or If you neeeeed
The bees (x6)
*garbled sounds*
And if you need us
Or if you neeeeed
The bees (x6)
*garbled sounds*

I was surprised this song wasn't added earlier to the list. I think it is probably an underrated track from Feels. This conveys a wide-eyed wonderment at a simple creature: the bee. In the mind of a child it inspires feelings of fear and violence (those stings hurt!). The repeated mantra "I take my time/you take your time" is probably just as simple as it sounds. The bees, while being scary, remind this child/man to live in nature at a slowed tempo, not to rush about in the hustle and bustle of society. It is a general statement of simply feeling at rest.

At first this song bored me, but if I'm just relaxed and chilling I can listen to the whole thing and it's great. I have a short attention span, so that's quite a feat for me.

on of my most favorite songs, some how i always attract these creatures(the bees).Possibly in this song the bees "think", their taking their time but from our perspective they move *violently,so sudden- so scary,so wild -yet so articulate.

i enjoy how "the bees" sounds like "the beast" when said several times in a row.. not sure if it was intentional, though

This song's okay... but Fickle Cycle is way better and should have replaced it. We already have a long, drawn-out song in Daffy Duck.

In the context of the whole album, which is filled with songs about love, I'm pretty sure this song represents an initial reaction to a breakup. The approaching "bees" are the moment of realization of what's happening. It's a great parallel - if you've never been broken up with unexpectedly, there's an initial feeling of fear when you first see what's coming at you. It's a volatile moment. With this in mind, I think the rest of the lyrics make a little more sense - "I take my time / You take your time" and "And if you need us." are the feelings most people have in this situation, wanting to cling to the relationship ("Let's just take some time and see what happens...").

If you knew a summer rainstorm one afternoon on the Gulf coast of Florida, you know this song by heart.

me and my boyfriend dropped acid recently and the day after it still was in his system and he decided that Bees was a song he had never understood or gave time to understand. Once he started listening to it he told me it was obvious that the song was about love, how it swarms like the bees.

I like what Slow Down the World said:
"Possibly in this song the bees think they're taking their time but from our perspective they move *violently, so sudden- so scary, so wild -yet so articulate."
At first I was wondering why the song was so slow in the beginning because it didn't sound "sudden", "violent", "scary", or "wild" at all. But it makes more sense when you put it that way because then the bees are the ones speaking. "I'll take my time" then makes more sense with how slow the song is.

Kudos to Rabashinko as well.

I find it ironic that they use bees as the animal to symbolize relaxation and slowness. Don't we say "busy as a bee?" In the animal kingdom, don't bees symbolize hastiness, serving as a parallel to the mad rush of everyday life?

Its bees people, not beast! The way that bees is being pronounced is not just simple as saying bees.. The S sticks out more instead of Z.. Like when you say bees it automatically sounds like bee'z..

this song is so great
in a normal mindset to me,
this song would be boring and actually a burden to listen to.
but it means so much
i cant really even think about it
but through my interpertation, it means a lot.
its so beautiful in the simpliest ways.
and it doesnt have a tempo, it portrays bees as the everyday world doesnt, and is "bees" is misunderstood for "beast"
all these things make it better
i love it so much
