Lyrics for This Is The End (For You My Friend) as interpreted by some1_named_no_1

This Is The End (For You My Friend) Lyrics
Seems every station on the TV
Is selling something no one can be
If every page was torn from the magazine
Would cash still drive the media-machine?
The products, damage and pursuit are endless
Identity can leave you selfless

We will not witness... this anymore....

CHORUS
This is the end, for you my friend!
I can't forgive!
I won't forget!
On and on... we sing our songs and...
On and on... your wars wage on and...
On and on... we sing our songs for more

For more

Your eyes are open but you can't see
Your mouth is moving but you don't speak
A blitzkrieg of images to break your will
I hope you choke on every pill

We will not witness... this anymore....

CHORUS
This is the end, for you my friend!
I can't forgive!
I won't forget!
On and on... we sing our songs and...
On and on... the wars wage on and...
On and on... we sing our songs for more

"Whoa-oh"s

Yeah! Yeah!
We will not witness... this anymore....

This is the end, for you my friend
I can't forgive
I won't forget

CHORUS/OUTRO
This is the end, for you my friend!
I can't forgive!
I won't forget!
On and on... we sing our songs and...
On and on... the wars wage on and...
On and on... we sing our songs and...
On and on... the wars wage on again...
On and on... we sing our songs and...
On and on... the wars wage on again...
On and on... we sing our songs for more

We sing our songs for mo-hore!

also, this sounds more like a Whatever It ZTakes song. #2 does some of his best vocals in this song.

"A bitch could get paper to break your will" should be "a blitzkrieg of images to break your will"

THANK YOU for that! I knew the "bitch-paper" line made no sense, but I couldn't distinguish it as anything else.

You got it. Yeah, when I read the lyrics I wasn't sure what bitch paper was either, so I went back and checked the song to be sure...

Apparently this song (as described my the band) is about the whole "model" image. Women are so worried about looking beautiful that they've forgotten how beautifl they already are.

Sold out? How? Because it is catchy? Who says a band can't progress and evolve into different styles? I think it takes balls to change it up from what works.

no, they didn't sell out by becoming "catchy", they sold out by going from a independent label, to a major label for more money, hence the name sell out. if something or someone in this instance, is sold or for sell, money is involved numb nuts.

the change of sound, is good for them, their still singing about the same ideals and are able to bring them to a wider audience, because their sound speaks to this new generation of pop-punk kids but their still antiflag through and through

Josh there are always going to be people within music that hate on bands that do something different. The fact is that on Fat Wreckords they were preaching to the choir. With a big label supporting them they can get a lot more people thinking about what they say. I live in LA and their song Press Corpse is now on KROQ the biggest radio station in the world. They have a line in it that goes " you cowardly wave the flag". If that is not punk rock then i don't want to hear what punk rock is supposed to be.

With a big label they can reach listeners that wouldn't have naturally listened to them. Sure not all will grasp the message but some will and then some will think about what they are saying and then some will read a book and then some will get mad and that is the whole point of their music.

Not to mention that Anti-Flag was approached by several major labels, and RCA was the only one that would let them keep complete control over their music and lyrics. This is their only album that's 100% political. Nothing was softened up a bit. They did not sell out.

Its not just the "model image" alot of this album, especially this song is anti-advertising, shoving images down our throat basically brainwashing us into thinking that there are certain norms to be followed into society, also touching on how teens male and female have record numbers of eating disorders because of the images pounded into our heads of perfection.

and this song is basically saying "fuck you" we are ourselves dont advertise to "us" (referring to the people affected by this) we dont want your version of what is good, everyone is fine who they are.

are you serious? callin them sell outs cuz they went to big labels and are making more money? let me ask you something...if you could do the same exact thing for 5 dollars an hour or 50 dollars an hour...what would you do?...just because theyre making more money doesnt mean theyre a sell out....a sellous is eomone who changes their ways for more money..and thye dont change, they just makni more money...and yea afi's new stuff sounds diff from the old stuff, but thats because if it didnt then theyd be puttin out the same cd each time....ur just an ignorant dumbass

to Vindo:

if people are too lazy to actually go out and FIND good music, instead of listening to all the popular garbage on MTV, then they dont DESERVE to listen to Anti-Flag, or any other non mtv band

The chorus to this sounds so much like the chorus to "We Can't Rewind" by Feeder

yo just rewind a bit back to josh first comment but it kinda reminds me of the casualties dvd when they are playing in mexico city and they tell that kid that they didnt sell out n shit because he couldnt afford ten fucking bucks to get into their gig........well yeah they have to make a living somehow and just cause they are playing and recording under a big named label dosnt mean they have changed.......ok everyone also asks define sellouts....well lets see good charlotte....they released their first and second albums when pop punk was heaps big on the scene....a few years later everyone grows fringes and hates the world so they release the chronicles of life and death.....now these days this whole panic at the disco/fall out boy dance-pop-punk bullshit is the scene....have u heard that brass knuckles song....wat tosser.....biggest sell outs....
