He is asking that if he loved her, if she would love him back. That's why he says 'If I told you, you were right, would you take my hand tonight?' I really like the beat of this song.

note to self=when a guy tells you he likes you. NEVER EVER EVER tell him that you dont like him. because you may not like him now, but when he's gone it is soo painful to let go. past experience.

I JUST LOVE THIS SONG.this guy really knows what love is like, and im someone who knows nothing about love. well other than my love for HEATH LEDGER,and of course cary brothers.

I have recently fell in love...that this song just really touches me when i hear it. it has such a beautiful sound and words to it that it gives me goosebumps. =] i found cary brothers by chance, and i'm happy that i did.

It's definitely a beautiful song. Like blurrymonkey said, the sound of it is great; it draws me in. It just makes me think of finally finding "the one."

I got the soundtrack to The Last Kiss and heard it on there, but it sounded so familiar to me. I'm a scrubs fanatic, and I realized it was used on the show once, and even figured out which episode it was in (I have a lot of free time to think and figure stuff out at my job). Season 5, Episode 10 - Her Story II. It plays with the conclusion of the episode.

How is this song not hugely popular. I love it to death -- i've had it on repeat a little too much =\
To me I think it's about a guy who is ready to completely put himself out there for a girl, but only if the girl shows that she is ready to do so as well. Although, she has already seen a bad part of him so she might be hesitant to start a relationship.
Still, an incredibly beautiful yet simple song.

wow..i absolutely love this song. if it weren't for the last kiss soundtrack i wouldnt have even heard this beautiful song.. this song is about a boy who loves a girl so much and wants her to love him back but doesn't know her feelings. the guitar/acoustic melody =love !

i think that this song is about asking someone to sacrifice for you. its almost like it was a fight that led to it. the way he says "if i told you, you were right" and "if i told you the reasons why" to me it seams like she accused him of being a coward or something like that and he's saying yes and i'm sorry but if i told you, you were right would you come back to me/give me a chance. and he's asking her if she would be willing to give up everything for him.
it also seems like she was able to get closer to him than anybody else had. she saw through his facade. this is really a very deep song on many levels and its also just incredibly beautiful. i agree with everyone about how the guitar kind of pulls you in.

I love this song!!! I still have yet to see the movie. But anyways, I think this song is about a person showing there complete self to someone and he is asking for one simple thing, that if she would do anything for him as he would do anything for her like it says in the song, "would you leeave your life and ride."

I hate saying that I completely agree with someone on their comment; however, I agree with diellenicole. I'm not sure I could have put it better myself. The meaning behind really is deep on many levels. All the elements of this song tie together so perfectly. The opening lyric really strikes me: "You are everything I wanted, The scars of all I'll ever know."

This Song is the epitome of what I’m going through. See, I am the secondary guy in this girl’s life and I want her for myself, but she has other obligations. It’s almost semi selfish for me to want her but I want her none-the-less. Love… it’s a son of a bitch.

Its definitly a certain song drawn to Love!
This seems to me always that song of finding one you really and deeply Love and can see a future ahead with you and that person. You see all this and Love them so much, and despite the darkness, pain, and scars from past tension (any fears which is natural with Love) you overcome those as you just want that person to show their devotion and utter Love to you.
You want that person to just take your hand and 'ride', or leave as one and start a life as one and hope they Love you dearly too that it will be!

I heard this song at the end of a Scrubs episode and did some research as to who was the artist. Its the episode where JD & Julie breakup.
Lyrically it is a great song and when I heard the version with the drums and bass addition it was great!

I first heard this song when watching a preview for The Last Kiss and like a lot of you have said that sound of the song is what, at first, brought my attention to it but then I kept listening to this song and I absolutely fell in love with the song.

When I think of this song while listening to it I always picture someone who had a lover but they probably made a mistake (doesn't really matter what that mistake was) and they realized after they made that mistake that they knew just how much that other person meant to them/ how much they loved that other person.

It also makes me think of a sort of unexpected or even a forbidden love. Like when he says "You saw all my pieces broken This darkness that I could never show", I think of someone letting someone in on them like breaking down all of their "walls", allowing themselves to fully trust this person and finding a lover out of it ...and when he says "Would you leave your life and ride?" I think of the whole forbidden love kind of thing ..like they might not have necessarily meant to fall in love with each other but they did however no one is excepting their love for one another so they decide that it doesn't matter...just leave the life that they have their and ride on to a life that they can be together....

to me this song is about a guy who was in a relationship but it ended because he wasnt able to show everything that was inside ..he wasnt able to show all the scars all the pieces of his life that feel apart somthing he just couldnt open up and show..but she saw it and after time she couldnt take it anymore and left..started a new life..but now he sees that he needs her and hes asking if i told you were right would u leave your life and ride? this song is a question to the one he lost and loved...is she willing to some back if hes willing to open up and show her the sides of him he hide from her before

I am not sure what everyone else has said...but maybe it is about taking a chance on love, the love is someone who he may have known for a long time and may be in another relationship even. But he is kind of saying "you are everything to me and can you take this chance and try it out"....

Love is a risk, he is asking this girl to make that jump and be with him heart and soul. Using 'ride' is like a metaphor for being love, letting yourself be in love. Maybe this girl is afraid of love, she runs away and pushes people away who love her and he wants her so badly. He wants her to feel safe with him.

Isn't that what love is all about, though? Being willing to take a risk?

i love cary brothers the music is so personal and just gives me goosebumps everytime i hear this song along with loneliest girl in the world and others...
to me this song is about someone he hurt but really liked 'you saw all my pieces broken, this darkness i could never show' cos he just couldn't tell her how he felt he's singing for the regret of not just being with her i relate to this song alot which is why that is my interpretation and emily i wish i read your advice before cos its really true!! but great song can't stop putting it on repeat xx
