She was just 17,
pious and pretty with a deadly disease,
and the weight of the world on her prosthetic shoulder,
and by the summer of '96,
her body was cracked like porcelain,
just like some precious moments collectible,
in a hospital gown and a big bright golden halo...
And so three cheers for my morose and grieving pals,
and now let's hear it for the tears that i've welled up,
we've come too far to have to give it all up now,
we live lives that are rich and blessed,
and we'll burn for how we transgress...
Now i've mastered the art,
of the open casket prayer and the singing guitar,
and i've found the rewards weren't half what i'd hoped for,
and meanwhile we all feigned hope and mirth,
as her parents went on and lied to her,
all about the success of the surgeries,
and how my ex-girlfriend was now sleeping with her fiance...
And so three cheers for my morose and grieving pals,
and now let's hear it for the tears that i've welled up,
we've come too far to have to give it all up now,
we live lives that are rich and blessed,
and we'll burn for how we transgress...
If there's any justice in heaven,
Then God won't let me in,
He'll lock the gates and take my weekend pass away,
With a sympathetic wave they'll see me off
Reserve my golden crown while I am cursed to walk the earth for a millenia,
I know I deserve worse but it terrifies me and I can't take it anymore...
And so three cheers for my morose and grieving pals,
and now let's hear it for the tears that i've welled up,
we've come too far to have to give it all up now,
we live lives that are rich and blessed,
and we'll burn for how we transgress...

Morrissey- this world is full of crashing boars
I havent heard all the tracks but it kind of bummed me out on how much it sounds like Moz. unless thats the point and im not seeing it?
BUT!
I want to know all about brand new. I get the bio and all that. But things like what went on between him and someone from TBS with 70 x 7 I think. And him with NFG.
Can somone show me some links?
but this is an actual cover of a morrissey song
MoneyMoney: I think it's more along the lines of him dating a girl who was already getting married. As in the woman was cheating on her future husband. That's the line literally.
So a band gets influence, they all had to start somewhere and maybe it's a tribute type of thing? (Imitation is flattery...?) I adore Jesse Lacey's voice and all the melodies he sings.
I somewhat think this song is in the perspective of the girl and having an out-of-body experience. When you become an angel some think you forget all worldly touches because you hit the top, and so she can look back on it without sadness or regret, and this girl then can successfully see into the world and notices Jesse, maybe? When touched by a supernatural being you can get a slight sixth sense and he thinks of heaven.
