Here it is
One more glass for these broken hands
Goes down for you
I'm falling in
I sink then swallow
I never meant
To see this through

[Chorus]
I'm taking them all
Taking them all back for good
To a place where I know that I'm safe
Then I can fall
Then I could fall where I should
In this bottle with all my mistakes

All the days
Since I've landed
I've lost the way
To find my truth
You float away
And leave me stranded
What's left to say
I'll hurt for you

[Chorus]

I could sleep
But when I wake here
You'll still be gone
And you're my air
I could breathe
If you would stay here
Another song
So I could stare

I could sleep
But when I wake here
You'll still be gone
And you're my air
I could breathe
If you would stay here
Another song
So I could stare

[Chorus]

General Comment:This song actually contains multiple references to the movie "The Goonies." For instance, when they are in the wishing well one of them spouts out "George Washington, Abe Lincoln, Martin Sheen," "That's not Martin Sheen that's Kennedy you idiot." "Yeah, well he played Kennedy once."
The other reference occurs in the chorus: In the same scene, Mouth says "Yeah, well this one was my wish... and it didn't happen. So I'm taking it back. I'm taking them all back."

General Comment:I think this is a song about someone commiting suicide, thinks he'll get to heaven, a better place (a place where i know that i'm safe) if the girl stayed he could survive (i could breathe if you would stay here)

General Comment:The title "Martin Sheen Or JFK" has nothing to do with alchohal.
It was a track in dedication to
    the movie "The Goonies".
The charactor,Mouth says the line in the chorus "I'm taking them all back" in reference to coin he finds at the bottom of a wishing well. He mistakes JFK on a half-dollar for Martin Sheen, hence the title of the song.
    So yeh.

One of my favorite songs off of Lights & Sounds

General Comment:this album is so full of hints about
    water & air
    and
    breathing & falling
    and
    crashing & of course Hollywood.

General Comment:Personally I think the JFK thing is reference to the airport...great song and incorporates the violin greatly as always.

General Comment:For all you deprived children who haven't seen The Goonies, the title is a reference to that. The kids are looking at coins they think are treasure and one of them says "It's Abe Lincoln, George Washington, Martin Sheen!"
I sing the first line wrong whenever I sing along to this song. I say "clasp" instead of "glass", I just think it sounds better.
