Man once sang to me
Look at you saving the world on your own
And I wonder how things gonna be
'cause the time here it passes so slow
In a city of devils we live
A city of devils we live
Find somebody to learn
Boy you gotta love someone more than yourself
I can feel the fire of the city lights burn
It's hard to find angels in hell

[Chorus]
Flying alone I
Feel like I don't belong and I,
Can't tell righy from the wrong, why,
Have I been here so long

In a city of devils we live
A city of devils we live

Questions I can't seem to find
To the answers I already have
And you can't see the sky here tonight
So I guess I can't make my way back

[Chorus]

What if I wanted you here right now
Would you fall in the fire burn me down
If I wanted you here right now
Would you fall in the fire burn me down
If I wanted you here right now...

In a city of devils we live
In a city of devils we live
A city of devils we live
In a city ofâ?¦

[Chorus]

I don't belong
Don't belong
I've been here too long
Too long

General Comment:I hate the fact that this album got dogged on by so many critics and that the general opinion was that it was a dissapointment, because it seems as if they didnt even take the time to listen to the songs. Yeah, not the typical Yellowcard we all are familiar with, but just because it's different dosent mean it's bad. To me, this whole album was very symbolic and had deep meaning. This song is the perfect example of that.

The title alone is incredibly clever, and the entire song is almost as if Ryan snaps back at someone defending Los Angeles. It's no secret that he dosent like it, and vents his frustrations of living in the fake society that Los Angeles is. He has trouble making friends there because everyone is so caught up in themselves "Boy you gotta love someone more than yourself...it's hard to find angels...". A very simple message, he could easily just say "I hate Los Angeles" and leave it at that. But instead, you get an incredibly well-thought out and well-written song telling you why.

And that is the hidden greatness behind Lights and Sounds as a whole album. If only those "experts" and "critics" took the time to pay attention.

General Comment:I think yellowcardrock's comments were right. I have heard this song since the album L & S was release but i was not able to appreciate it right away. Yes, I believe that every song composed by an artist, somehow, could be also interpreted by the listeners in their own way. I guess, it's about realizing how you survive living in a place or situation that you, yourself know that it isn't supposed to be. You know what's the difference between the life you had and the life you have but still that person is living in that place that he knew himself that the once he had live is better than the one he is living.

General Comment:I always thought he was talking about the entire world and not just a city. like he's been on earth for a while and the time has passed slowly and it gives him time to think about the rest of his life on earth. He also goes on to explain that the world has more evil than good by saying its a city of devils. but this song is so hard to interpret and i could be very wrong, but this is how i've always looked at it.

General Comment:Incredible song. I agree that it was probably written about LA, but obviously can be related and applied to any other city. To me, it kind of is just like trying to break away from the influences people have on us and trying to find who we are. I love it.

General Comment:I can totally relate to this song. I always feel like I don't belong in the town I live in. Because most of the people are not my type of persons I would hang out with. And when I had a bad day at school or so, it really helps to sing this song with the volume on the highest.

I think what BackHome21 said is true.

General Comment:I think you guys should keep in mind that Yellowcard recorded some or most of this cd in New York... maybe they're referring City of Devils to New York while they're missing City of Angels, LA?
