This is the time of the revolution.
Cooking the next step.
Converting vegetarians.

This is the time of the revolution.
Cooking the next step.
Converting vegetarians.
Minding the gap since 1996.

This is the time of the revolution.
Keeping it in the right track.
Feeling it in my mind back.
Seeing it every day every day.

This is the time of the revolution.
Keeping it in the right track.
Feeling it in my mind back.
Seeing it every day, aaah.

I wake up! And my mind's out,
Never again will I sell out.
Converting vegetarians.
Into the midnight giving it to you.
I don't know, it just feels right.

And my mind's out,
Never again will I sell out.
Converting vegetarians.
Into the midnight giving it to you.
I don't know, it just feels right.

This is the time of the revolution.
Cooking the next step.
Converting vegetarians.

This is the time of the revolution.
Cooking the next step.
Converting vegetarians.
Minding the gap since 1996.

19..19..1996..

General Comment:The song is about converting drug users to taking mushrooms. 'magic mushrooms' instead of other non naturally occuring drugs. Everything about this band is about drugs. The music is made specifically for people tripping on drugs.

It is nothing to do with trains, nor is it anything to do with actual vegitarianism. Case closed, go home and wank yourself into oblivion.

    My Opinion:Mushrooms are vegetables.
May I direct you all to edi909's interpretation.

General Comment:I don't see how a "vegetarian" can be someone who hasn't yet "converted" to the ways of wierdo Israeli trance music! People convert INTO vegetarians! Vegetarians start off as meat-eaters, usually! Vegetarians have already converted, by definition.

I'm sticking with the converting people into Israeli combat-cyborgs, possibly time-travelling. "Cooking" their flesh, with surgery, nanobots, and strange voltages. A metaphor for bio-engineering. Their base is therefore presumably in an abandoned station of the London Underground (just like V, in V for Vendetta [the comic of course, the film was AWFUL!}, or possibly in a currently-used station, but through a secret entrance, perhaps behind one of the toilet cubicles, or accessed through the unused rear driver's cabin. At a certain point in the journey, an agent exits the cabin, to pass through a door hidden in the tunnel walls, demarcated with signs painted in infra-red and ultra-violet, and pulsed, coded, short-range microwave transmissions.

That, or it just sounds cool. Fits the lyrics as well as anybody else's over-earnest explanation.

General Comment:Oh, and "Mind the gap" is practically the slogan of London Underground, the underground railway (like a Metro or a Subway) transport system. Means beware of the gap between the train and the platform, so you don't end up with your ankles missing. Many musicians have used the phrase for album and song names, and lots of other things.

General Comment:My brother reckons it's about converting vegetarians into Russian robotic storm-troopers.

Could it be it's just a song? And the words just sound good, and kindof freaky? Not every song is a manifesto, or a coded message.

General Comment:One of my favourite IM song.
The best bit is when the stringed instruments kick in after the psyched out intro. So gooddd~
I don't understand it, but that doesn't stop me loving it.

General Comment:@ infectedmuchroom : To really appreciate this kind of music I think you've had to have done something... booms would definitely help.

The lyrics mean whatever you want them to. You could extrapolate every word and phrase a hundred times over coming to different conclusions every time. Good, uplifting song.

"I wake up! And my mind's out,
Never again will I sell out."

    Just raw...

My Interpretation:if you guys really know infected mushroom, you know that they began from 1996. what they are trying to say in this song is that they formed a revolution. "Minding the gap since 1996." how much they have done since 1996. i love this song. i love this album. absolutely amazing band.
and all you guys got to keep in mind just because this group are called infected mushroom doesn't mean that they do drugs. in this song vegetarians means staying off the drugs.

My Interpretation:As an enthusiast of psychedelic drugs, I'd like to give you all how I see this. It's likely that I'm close, since one can assume Infected Mushrooms enjoys the tripssss. :D

First off, I'd like to say that there is an entire subculture of psychedelic drug enthusiasts that have a vision. A vision that seems be sparked by a strong psychedelic trip, usually the first one a person experiences. This is one of a new human mindset, that embraces balance in our universe, and understands that the separation between 'self' and 'environment' is completely subjective. As in, it is an illusion.

Anyway, you could say that the line "converting vegetarians" is actually referring to converting people TO being vegetarian. This is a point that many psychedelic enthusiasts arrive at, finding the idea of mass killing conscious animals for your own benefit disgusting. I'm not quite there, but I've entertained the concept.

    --------------------

The "time of the revolution" is the waking up, or enlightening of the human species as a whole. It is something that I see happening around me as well, we're entering a new era. Things change, you can embrace this change or fight it. The "revolutionaries" don't need to fight anything, those that don't accept this change will only continue to deal with the expected suffering of an egocentric society.

When you start to see this idea I'm dancing around right now, you can't go a day without thinking about it. You feel an urge to stay "on the right track", to change things around you. "feel it in my mind back" & "seeing it everyday".

When the narrator here wakes up, he goes about his day promising to never "sell out" again. I interpret this as never going back to the egocentric, ignorant life that is western society.

"I don't know it just feels right" is seemingly describing the very... "blurry" new sense you get of the ideal world you get after a psychedelic awakening. Trying to put it into words just seems wrong, you can probably tell- because it rarely comes out as competent or intelligent. It is a strong feeling with no language attached to it, but when you act on it nothing but positivity comes of it. You help your neighbors on earth, you love them and live for the whole- even when the world is built against that, you keep going because it just feels right.

    Peace, Love, and Light
