I'm not saying it was your fault
Although you could have done more

Oh, you're so naive, yet so

How could this be done?
By such a smiling sweetheart
Oh, and your sweet and pretty face
In such an ugly way
Something so beautiful
That every time I look inside

I know that she knows that I'm not fond of asking
True or false, it may be
She's still out to get me

I know that she knows that I'm not fond of asking
True or false, it may be
She's still out to get me

I may say it was your fault
'Cause I know you could have done more

Oh, you're so naive, yet so

How could this be done
By such a smiling sweetheart?
Oh, and your sweet and pretty face
In such an ugly way something so beautiful
Every time I look inside

I know that she knows that I'm not fond of asking
True or false, it may be
She's still out to get me

I know that she knows that I'm not fond of asking
True or false, it may be
She's still out to get me

How could this be done
By such a smiling sweetheart?

Oh, you're so naive, yet so

Such an ugly thing
Someone so beautiful
And every time you're on his side

I know she knows that I'm not fond of asking
True or false, it maybe be
She's still out to get me

And I know she knows that I'm not fond of asking
True or false, it maybe be
She's still out to get me

Just don't let me down
Just don't let me down
Hold on to your kite
Just don't let me down
Just don't let me down
Hold on to your kite
Just don't let me down
Just don't let me down
Hold on to this kite
Just don't let me down

My Interpretation:This song means that his girlfriend cheated on him or whatever she did wrong and he doesnt want to ask her because he is scared of knowing the truth. also he does not want to believe someone as beautiful as herself would do something this bad that will hurt him so much. i love luke pritchard and the rest of them

General Comment:Ok, so I used this song as a supplementary English text and scored pretty high.
I compared the lyrics to the video clip and my interpretation was that the girl is an alcoholic. This song is about how alcohol affects her so much that she cheats.
"I'm not saying it was your fault, Although you could have done more" refers to the act of cheating, in the clip she was so intoxicated that when she had sex with that guy she was unable to say no. I know that she didn't intentionally cheat because of these lyrics and because in the video she is constantly searching for her boyfriend, mistaking him for other guys infact the lyrics "she's still out to get me" probably mean that she is trying to find him.
"oh you're so naive yet so, How could this be done by such a smiling sweetheart" refers to her naivety to drinking and the effects alcohol has on her, "In such an ugly way" is how the alcohol turns her ugly, and lets all these ugly things like cheating happen.
Finally " I know she knows that I'm not fond of asking" means that they both know she has a drinking problem, and they both know that he doesn't want to drive her away by asking her to stop.

So I hope that was helpful

General Comment:I never saw the video......But I think he's talking about his girlfriend having a good guy friend who obviously likes her and she is acting 'naive' and oblivious to it. He's not fond of asking about it because they have been friends. He's not saying it's her fault, because she's not making any intentional moves but she could do more to get the guy friend to back off. She's out to get him because the whole situation is questionable and driving him crazy.....she takes the friends side, playing them against eachother.

"Just hold on to your kite. Just don't let me down" He's in the clouds/flying high being with her, but she better not let him down and actually be cheating.

    Love this song!

General Comment:ive read about how some people think that this song is about an alcoholic or a girl who cheats etcetc, but in my opinion, i think its about a guy who fell for a girl and but he made a mistake or she misunderstood something that he did and now shes seeking revenge; i.e "shes still out to get me". also, in the video close to the end shes in the bathroom with some guy and he catches her and she doesnt have a look of shame or surprise as a cheater would have, but of revenge. he also says 'im not fond of asking' and that could mean hes scared to ask whats going on between them. but yet, he still looks out for her and holds her hair up when shes throwing up. all in all, i think its about a very complicated relationship that's turned foul and revengeful .

General Comment:everyone is saying shes cheating. but i think that the relationship is over already. he does miss her and he partly blames her for the relationship to be over.i think shes moved on but she was still playing with his head.she was playing mind games. i also think that shes kind of a slut. in the video it looks like she does sexual things to gain intimacy and when he sings "oh your so naive yet so" maybe hes saying these guys are all using you, your being naive yet he still falls for her every single time. i dont think that the girl is bad or a slut i think she means well she wants the intimacy as quick as possible.

General Comment:At first I thought it was about a girl he's friends with that he loves but she's with someone else who treats her badly and cheats on her

"I'm not saying it was your fault
Although you could have done more

Oh you're so naive yet so

    How could this be done
    Your such a smiling sweetheart"

Its not her fault he cheats and treats her badly, its your classic case of she believes his lies and the fact is she puts up with it. She's so Naive. I think it's because I really listened to the words of this version first and I think she changed the words a little bit.

Really beautiful version sung by Jem Cooke!!

Song Meaning:Wauw, i just found out the meaning! Yay, i love those moments when you realize what the song is about(:

Well, i think that all of you guys are right about most things. Basically the song's about a boy who loves his girlfriend, but she's cheating on him.

    What the lines say:

"I'm not saying it was your fault, although you could have done more" - he's not saying that it's her fault that the relationship isn't working out, but he thinks that she could have done more to make it better.

"How could this be done by such a smiling sweetheart" - suggests that his beautiful and perfect love has done something really wrong - in this case i think it's cheating.

"I know she knows, that i'm not fond of asking. True or false it may be, but she's still out to get me" - he knows that she knows, that he doesn't like asking her if she's cheating. It can be true or it can be false that she's cheating, but she's out to get him anyway.

"And everytime you're on his side" - argh, so much pain in his voice when he says this! I think it means that it's killing him when she takes the other guys side - he probably knows who she's cheating with, so whenever she takes his side, he knows it's because she loves him more.

"Just don't let me down, hold on to this kite" - i think he's saying to her that he doessn't want to end the relationship, that she can't let him down, and that she has to hold on to him (him as in this kite).

Anyways, a great song with an even greater meaning! Love you Kooks!

General Comment:The meaning for me of this song is different from everyone else's interpretation. I think this person has feelings for this girl who is with another guy. He thinks shes beautiful but ugly at the same time whenever shes with her bf. She's so naive that she doesnt know her bf is taking advantage of her.
