My school had the Rachel's Challenge assembly today, and we were fortunate to have her brother. He specifically stated an eyewitness watch one of the shooters shoot Rachel about 3 or 4 times, and proceeded to walk up to her, grab her by the hair and say "Do you believe in God?" and she replied "You know I do." and he shot her a final time. It was also reported other victims, Cassie, and one other, were also asked this question.

I'm sure Rachel Scott's brother knows his facts, because he was in the library too. He told us about watching his 2 best friend Issaih and Matt be shot by Eric and Dylan. The worst part is that last thing Issaih ever heard on this earth were racial slurs (he's african american). and the last thing he ever said was "I just want to see me mother."

Awesome song. We all know the meaning.

Stand for what you believe. Don't back down, even when things look grim. Either you believe in something or you don't.

The lyrics aren't completely accurate. Who ever posted them left out the part where instead of saying "And Cassie pulled the trigger" once or twice it also says "And Rachel pulled the trigger" because Rachel Scott was also asked "Do you believe in God?" and she too said yes.

OK right I know this is random, but whenever I listen to Panic at the disco, this story springs to mind...ok their song, "the only difference between martrydom and suicide is press coverage"..... Cassie knew that if she said yes to believing in god she'd be killed, but she said yes anyway,....kinda like suicide[no disrespect intended]....and now she's a martyr.....the only difference between Martrydom and suicide is press coverage.....yeah sorry weird comparison!:S
But I love this song and I love love love Flyleaf!<3

Whoever said below that it was Val Schnurr, was spot on.
In fact, their entire description of events is right.
Rachel was tens of metres away, and no communication between her and Eric and Dylan happened.
Cassie was just shot, nothing else.
And Val is still very much alive.

As Jello Biafra rightuflly said, she's just not using it as a cash-cow, unlike the scumbag Bernalls and Scotts.
Apparently, nobody told Lacey.

i think this song might be right about cassie, and it might be weong. i personally think cassie was killed for being a christian. every christian pulls there own trigger in some way. u r going to face a battle. its kind of like in the bible when one of Jesus' closest friend denied him and lived. i will say yes

This song is just truly inspirational for me. The song is about a girl named Cassie Bernall. And the story of it is real. During the Columbine High School shooting, Eric asked her whether she believed in God or not. She said yes, and well. That's what happened. I believe that Cassie is a true martyr for giving up he life to show her true faith. We should all follow Cassie's example...by not being afraid to show who we truly are.

this song is about a shoot i dont remember where but the killers ask the victims if they believed in God and they said yes i got killed. This song is awesome and i love the energy in it. I guess Flyleaf is cristian after all

You people that actually believe that Cassie was asked if she believed in god are way confused.

Here are some facts:
Every person that was by Cassie has said that she wasn't asked any questions.
Her family, plus people that were NOT in the room, nor there said that she was said.

You're saying that you are going to believe someone who wasn't even there over people that were in the room and heard what was going on? Delusional people.

This song, the book, the family are telling a lie to make the story sound more 'sad'

Read on this topic, you'll find that she was asked no questions.
It's a myth.

this song is full of soul. It's about this massacre at a school. when two young boys ran around asking people the question. They then commited suicide They killed two young girls. If you want to know more about cassie, her mother wrote a book about cassie's faith, and life as a christian.

She's talking about how even in the toughest situations we should stand up for what we belive in. and she would.

This song is about Cassie Bernall. She was a Columbine victim. One of the shooters asked her if she believed in God and he shot her because she replied "Yes." Before I movedI ws going to going to Columbine for Highschool. My mother knows Cassies mother. Its such a tragic incident. I listen to this song a lot. Its harder for me because I know one of the victims mothers. At the end of the song she says " and I will pull the trigger" this means she would have said the same thing in tat circumstance...and I would too.

What does it mean when they say throughout the song, "and Cassie pulled the trigger" or at the end when she says, " and i will pull the trigger" I love them and understand most of their songs including this one all except that one. Help!! Thanksss... ")

honestly, i think the line "and cassie pulled the trigger" should be changed to "and so he pulled the trigger" or something.. because everytime someone hears me play this song they ask me, "why are you listening to suicide music, you emo?" and i have to explain to them that it's about a martyr ehehehehehehe

It kind of sickens me that Christians have so little conviction that they cling to each and every desperate scrap of news they can get that makes Christianity seem better. There is no god, and Cassie Bernall would still be alive today if she knew that. I'm not saying it isn't a beautiful story, the glorification of a teenage martyr, but the real victims of the Columbine High Massacre were the shooters themselves. They were molded by a society that just couldn't open it's cloudy blind eyes before it was too late. Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold, rest in peace. Cassie Bernall, rest in peace. To all the others that died at Columbine, rest in peace. But we as a society made Eric and Dylan do what they did, so we can't blame them. It would be like blaming the gun that shot you.
