Texas That's where I
Belong
It seems to me
Texas Lonesome star
Shine on
The big country
Texas With open skies
And you
For company
Texas Oh prairie rose
How happy
I should be
Hey hey You can take it from me
Hey hey I'll be coming, you'll see
Hey hey Oh what a state to be in
Hey hey You're tantalizing me
Texas I will compose
In fancy rhyme
Or just plain prose
Texas A song of praise
To you
Prairie rose
Texas Though I'm not sure
I can explain
Your strange allure
Texas Prairie rose
A crown of thorns
A scented flower
Hey hey I'd better leave right away
Hey hey I can hear you calling me
Prairie rose
Belong
It seems to me
Texas Lonesome star
Shine on
The big country
Texas With open skies
And you
For company
Texas Oh prairie rose
How happy
I should be
Hey hey You can take it from me
Hey hey I'll be coming, you'll see
Hey hey Oh what a state to be in
Hey hey You're tantalizing me
Texas I will compose
In fancy rhyme
Or just plain prose
Texas A song of praise
To you
Prairie rose
Texas Though I'm not sure
I can explain
Your strange allure
Texas Prairie rose
A crown of thorns
A scented flower
Hey hey I'd better leave right away
Hey hey I can hear you calling me
Prairie rose

Sounds like driving across the Panhandle with the windows open. No air conditioning. Thunderstorm in the distance. A beautiful blonde at your side. Don't mess with TEXAS - don't put no beans in my chile neither...
A glorious song (which is the only kind of songs Roxy Music ever made).
Here's a good read if you can find it: amazon.com/Jerry-Halls-Tall-Tales-Hall/dp/067150911X
Found one in a thrift shop years ago. Jerry mentions Roxy Music in passing - but devotes many pages to some rocker, Mark Jagger from some other group that was famous back then, can't remember their name right now...
I see the books are now worth a bit more than I paid!
