Oh, an incurable humanist you are.
(x4)
Let's go to the movies,
I will hum you a song about nothing at all
(x2)
Let's go to the movies, Let's go to the movies,
Nothing at all, Nothing at all, Nothing at all, Nothing at all.
Oh, An incurable humanist you are.

if you really listen closely she says "Oh, an incurable humanist you are.. ALL* an incurable humanist" ... speaking to the world that they will never see whats beyond them and think out of the box and how they were taught
"lets go to the movies I will hum you a song about nothing at all" basically how the wrong love factor starts to hit seeing as the world think this is what love means. being with somebody and throwing lines at them until you get with them which love comes in all forms instead of just relationships
"sit down class open up you're textbooks to page 42" hitchhikers guide stating the number 42's the meaning of life which is love, which she believes is true but then you see her teaching it wrong on purpose because its showing how the world is betraying it
"bus ology, train ology, plain ology, mama ology, pappa ology" i believe this is two people who have so-called falling in love and traveled to meet each others parents... they are basically going through the cycle they feel they suppose to go through
"you ology, me ology, loveology" showing how they only focus on each other and have no care in the world for anything.. which is basically against hitchhiker's theory, love shouldn't be based on a one zone relationship it should be shared with the world
"im sorry ology, forgive me ology" like i apologize but this is what I've been talk about love and the true meaning of it which is false
and the uncurable humanist part appears again to show even though we know we are doing it wrong, it won't change anything. so forgive me ology basically
- she's poking fun at humanism with the word "incurable." Like it's a disease of thought. Because modern humanism was in some ways seen to defy religion, to give humans more power, freedom and control which was previously left up to the hand of God. The "song about nothing at all" means a song with no meaning, a song with no reference to God, a non-worship song, one which she knows the incurable humanist will like.
The next bit about the class situation and all the ologys is referencing how humanism and science puts everything in categories, into approved or validated areas of study. Sex and love can never be put into such categories, but they are two of the most vital aspects of life and are inadvertently studied all the way through ones' life. The only way she can get through to her "incurable humanist" is to talk to them in practical and logical ways which do not fit with the topic of their relationship.
if you agree your additional thoughts would be much appreciated :) sorry if i didn't explain myself very eloquently :)
"mama-ology, papa-ology,you-ology, me-ology, love-ology, kiss-ology, stay-ology, please-ology."
Especially the 'stay' and 'please'.
"Let's go to the movies,
I will hum you a song about nothing at all"
I'm imagining a very young couple who have both just entered their first relationship. They want to express their affections to each other, but they don't know how, so they go to the movies (which is a very basic date) and the narrator wants to impress his/ her new lover with a song because they feel like they should but the reason it's "about nothing at all" is because they haven't experienced love enough to sing a sincere song about their affections. And perhaps it's "hum" and not sing because they are a little shy.
