telling layla's story spoken = the singer [lacey] is telling someone's story. lacey is telling HER story. she doesnt wanna use her name in the song so she used one that sounds like hers.
about how all her bones are broken = lacey used tooh get beat by her mother.
hammers fall on all the peices = it seems like laceys life is really falling apart.
two months in the cover creases = after 2 months, lacey's life seems too really be ruined.
fully alive more than most ready to smile and love life = thats kinduh obvious. she wants to smile and love life more than most people would.
fully alive and she knows how to believe in futures = thats kinduh obvious tooh. she knows that her life is horrible, but she doesnt give up, because she knows how to belive in having a better future.
all my complaints shrink to nothing = this could mean 2 things. 1 could be that even though she complains to the people around her, and asks for a better life, things still dont change. or 2, that she sees how other people have worse lifes than her and that makes her life seem alright.
im ashamed of all my somethings = she is ashamed of herself.

we complain, then look at someone less fortunet, maybe we say hmmm I wont complain anymore I am blessed, but no matter what we will complain again, we are humans and we cant help it. So take this song to heart and relize that no matter who you are there is someone hurting worse out there.

I believe that in this song Lacey right for herself..i learnt some things bout her life, you know, taff..and her childhood wasn't that good!so,when she find some happiness she realised how wonderful life trully is and she's ready to live it, she smiles and she's dreamin again..
That's my opinion but still the best thing bout music is that you can take it however you want.Songs always have as many meanings as many the ppl listening to em are!

I believe that in this song Lacey right for herself..i learnt some things bout her life, you know, taff..and her childhood wasn't that good!so,when she find some happiness she realised how wonderful life trully is and she's ready to live it, she smiles and she's dreamin again..
That's my opinion but still the best thing bout music is that you can take it however you want.Songs always have as many meanings as many the ppl listening to em are!

Layla, was a girl suffering from depression and set her self on fire and said, "Lord, if you are there take this pain away." Then she fell to the ground. She lost her kids, but she is now a faithful Christian and Flyleaf heard her story and wrote this song about her....

depression takes happy thing away from you. it's so mental. while the physical is something different.
but anyway i adore this song it's still very beautiful that she can wake up everyday and be happy about it even though she have to lie in her bed in pain in for two months. so beautiful.
