Lyrics for I'm So Sick as interpreted by Shahman

I'm So Sick Lyrics
I will break into your thoughts
With what's written on my heart
I will break, break

I'm so sick, infected with
Where I live
Let me live without this
Empty bliss, selfishness
I'm so sick
I'm so sick

If you want more of this
We can push out, sell out, die out
So you'll shut up
And stay sleeping
With my screaming in your itching ears

I'm so sick, infected with
Where I live
Let me live without this
Empty bliss, selfishness
I'm so sick
I'm so sick

Hear it, I'm screaming it
You're heeding to it now
Hear it, I'm screaming it
You tremble at this sound

You sink into my clothes
This invasion makes me feel
Worthless, hopeless, sick

I'm so sick, infected with
Where I live
Let me live without this
Empty bliss, selfishness
I'm so, I'm so sick

I'm so sick, infected with
Where I live
Let me live without this
Empty bliss, selfishness
I'm so (I'm so)
I'm so sick (I'm so sick)
I'm so (I'm so)
I'm so sick (I'm so sick)

Okay, first comment of my ENTIRE SongMeanings life which started...10 seconds ago.
Anyway, "Empty bliss, selfishness" and "You sink into my clothes, this invasion makes me feel worthless, hopeless, sick", I'm guessing either pointless, meaningless sex or rape.
Whichever.

I think she's talking about Sin. That's why she's so angry at things.

I'm so sick, infected with (sinful nature)
Where I live (human SINFUL body)
Let me live without this
Empty bliss, selfishness (empty bliss: earthly pleasures? infected with: it's in my soul, can't heal it.)
I'm so sick
I'm so sick

If you want more of this (Satan wants her to sin more)
We can push out, sell out, die out (push out: more sin like birth; possibly like pushing a boat out into water. Sell out: give up herself and let herself into sin because it is easier. die out: her soul)
So you'll shut up
And stay sleeping (if she just sins, satan will stop attacking her faith, he will "sleep")
With my screaming in your itching ears (perhaps her prayers)

Hear it, I'm screaming it
You're heeding to it now
Hear it, I'm screaming it
You tremble at this sound (prayers hurt Satan to hear; they sound like pained screams?)

You sink into my clothes (her body is like a cover for her soul, therefore, sin enters her body)
This invasion makes me feel(it makes her feel so useless when she sind against God)
Worthless, hopeless, sick (she doesn't like sinning, but she does anyways because shehas no control over herself?)

This is from Flyleaf's website....http://flyleafonline.com/band/FAQ.php#2.5

What is I'm So Sick about?
"I'm So Sick is about how the world can sometimes be a sick and messed up place and how that influences us and tells us how we should live or who we should be. People do things just 'cause everyone else does and then they wonder why they feel empty all the time. Someone who has a firm stance in what they know to be true will empower empty followers to discover who they are as individuals with purposes and this creates leaders with voices of their own." - Lacey (taken from TVU commercial)

In the song she is talking about the world. Not that she's mad at the world, she's saying she is tired of the bad things in the world.
"I'm so sick, infected with
Where I live
Let me live without this
Empty bliss, selfishness
I'm so, I'm so sick"
She's saying the world that we live in is filthy and we need God to help us change it. This song is about asking God to change this dark world. Then the verses are directed towards us.

I think what this song is about is how she is trying to fight the demons inside her and she is asking God to help her get rid of them. The part where it says "You sink into my clothes This invasion makes me feel worthless, hopeless, sick" YOU being herself as in the demon that is invading her.

This song is about allowing something so dark and painful overtake you to the point where part of you has died. Eventually you get sick of feeling this way and want it to stop.

The song would normally be considered typical alt-rock fare — what with Bhattacharya's spiky lead guitar and Seals' thundering bottom end — but "So Sick" manages to separate itself from the pack thanks to Mosley's lyrical tightrope act, in which she carefully balances between brutal self evisceration and wide-eyed, unabashed spirituality.

It's a common theme throughout Flyleaf's debut album, because like Mewithoutyou (see "Mewithoutyou: Not Your Average Christian, Vegetable-Oil-Fueled, Flower-Flinging Rockers") and Relient K (see "Relient K Kind Of Like Getting Flipped The Bird") before them, Flyleaf are a tattooed, loud, deceptively Christian rock band. But they're not ashamed to admit it.

"We all share the same faith. And so when we deal with the whole 'Christian band thing,' we kind of think about something P.O.D. says, like, 'If you're a Christian, it affects everything in your life. So if you're a plumber, does that make you a Christian plumber?' " Mosley said. "I don't know the answer. We're a band, it's part of who we are, so it comes out in our music, and it's the fuel for what we do. And finding faith saved my life. So I'm not ashamed of it at all. And most of our album reflects that.

"Like 'I'm So Sick,' it's about how we live in a messed-up world and how we're a product of our surroundings to some extent, and you grow up and you feel messed up," she continued. "There are parts of me that I hate so much, that I wish would just die, but that's just me as a person. And despite all that, and despite how I grew up, I can still look at who I want to be and get strength from that. And despite everything that's going on around me, I can still choose to be the person that I want to be."

I have always really thought this song was about rape. The feelings she describes remind me of rape victims' stories.

Looking through the other comments I'm glad to see that I'm not the only one who interprets it to be about eating disorders. I know that this song probably isn't about eating disorders, but it would make sense. Eating disorders do invade your life and they do make you feel worthless, hopeless, etc. I like the video version, but I like the demo version even more because of the lyrics. Hopefully one day I will be able to heal and compromise, too. :)

When I think of this song, I think of how my parents keep me trapped and miserable in the house. They don't provide me with any of my needs, all they care about are themselves and their friends. I can never get an privacy. I feel that I'm isolated from everyone else and no one can help me. I'm so conscious about my lifestyle, it's affect how I act towards people. I want things to change.

I think this song might actually mean that she is tired of the general media.. They are all sitting there with blinders on and no one want to listen to what she really has to say. They choose not listen to what her songs really mean, and open their heart they way she has in her life. It's her commitment to god that other people are not willing to share. It's a matter of conviction and you really have to believe in what she is singing about.

definitely about being soul-sick. it's a perfect explanation of how someone who feels like that is going through. selling out to the world, making yourself worthless, buying into the empty self-satisfaction that the secular world is all about, slowly getting sicker and sicker, as your lifestyle slowly poisons you. look at it. it's so blatantly obvious.

This song was written in the period of time after the singer (Lacey Mosely) was raped. Let me explain how this fits in...
I'll start with the chorus:
I'm so sick, infected with
Where I live
Let me live without this
Empty bliss, selfishness
I'm so sick
I'm so sick

In the chorus she is saying how she's sick of where she is right now, like in her mind.

Verses:
I will break into your thoughts
With what's written on my heart
I will break, break

If you want more of this
We can push out, sell out, die out
So you'll shut up
And stay sleeping
With my screaming in your itching ears

Hear it, I'm screaming it
You're heeding to it now
Hear it, I'm screaming it
You tremble at this sound

You sink into my clothes
This invasion makes me feel
Worthless, hopeless, sick

Again still about rape (this should be very obvious especially for the last line). She is saying how she hopes this person feels horrible and still hears her screaming in his ears.

I really think she is talking about how un-pure society is basically how she wants to go to a place where there is no "sickness". Part of this song she is screaming at the devil, "I will break into your thoughts with what's written on my heart" basically she's not going to let the devil put foolish thoughts in her brain but steer away from them by using whats truly on her heart. "Hear it, I'm screaming it. You tremble at the sound" The devil hates it when we worship God, it would definitely make him tremble.
Anyway, that's what I hear the song saying to me.

IMHO:
Death Bunny was the first to touch on it.... Christian Emo Rock.
"what's written on my heart" is a reference to the end times. In prophecy [Jeremiah 31:33] and agian in several Episles the scripture states "I will put My law in their minds, and write it on their hearts; and I will be their God, and they shall be My people."
However she's also singing about the generally shatterd state of this common era. The same disenfranchisement that just about all of us feel fuels her. But she's calling for the second coming of Christ. She knows that with the culmination of this world all will be right and there will be no need for any of the things for which we all spend our whole lives striving after, and ultimately corrupting ourselves for. Everything pleasurable we experiance without the perfect union in the almight is "empty bliss."
She's "sick." Infected with this disease that we all have... no not herpes LOL... the earth.

I kinda think this song means that shes been through so damn much that shes going to get it out and you may not get it at first but you will. And if anyone's impressed with HER screaming...go listen to Arch Enemy...Angela Gossow can scream like a beast. It's quite amazing.

I think it means she's screaming at the world to realize they need to wake up, and that she's sick of the way we are acting. "I will break into your thoughts with what's written on my heart"
i think she wants to tell people to wake up and she really has a concern and God has put this on her heart.

This Song is talking about how satan comes and steals from us. Satan rules this world and because of it the world is selfish and full of themselves and in the end its all vanity, The Word of God is written on her heart.
New version of the song expresses this more clearly. you tube FLyleaf - I'm So sick (unreleased Version)
