So much fun is in a broken bottle
On the drive at night
So daddy froze froze froze on an old stool
I'm cryin' in the corner at 5
Well I've seen black
And I've seen blue
But fine line's I don't see
And just because I am in misery
It don't mean a thing

That I wanna know
That I wanna know

[Chorus]
Graduation Day, Graduation Day
We take back everything we said about you

September thought that she remembers
They don't teach humility
And just because they're always signaling Mayday
It don't mean a thing
That she's faired love
And she's seen war
But fairness she don't see
And just because she is in misery
It don't mean a thing

That she wants to know
That she wants to know

[Chorus]

Graduation Day, Graduation Day
We take back everything we said too.

But comroderie old
Doin' what I'm told
And everybody knows
This is getting out of hand

Everybody is dying for
The chance to be heard, not ignored
And everybody knows
This is getting out of hand

(Chorus)

Graduation Day, Graduation Day
We take back everything we said too

I'm not gonna
I'm not gonna
I ain't goin' to school

I'm not gonna
I'm not gonna
I'm not goin' to school

General Comment:I really love this song. I can't believe that I"m already close to graduating...
I really wanted this to be our graduation son, but alas, it wasn't meant to be...

anyway, it sounds like he's going through the trials and tribulations of both an abusive home and even the schools that they're going to. The chourus is like their way of saying that they let bygones be bygones...
the camraderie's old, doing what I'm told, and everybody knows that this is getting out of hand...
the whole song has a tone of finality to it...
like this is the last time that you'll be going through some of it...

General Comment:I agree with ownedcore about it's more than a song about just leaving high school drama.

"this is daryl palumbo we're talking about here, not pete wentz." haha. Agreed. :)

General Comment:i'm pretty sure this song is about a little more than "leaving high school drama behind". this is daryl palumbo we're talking about here, not pete wentz.

if you pay attention to the verses, he talking about a couple of pretty fucked up families.

General Comment:Oh yea...um, maybe this song is resolution for all that you've been through. So much fun in a broken bottle, sometimes school would drive you to stab yourself I guess. And all the crap you've been through is just a memory and doesn't matter anymore cuz you're outta that joint after graduation. Maybe the chorus is when he finds that after all that crap, enemies are trying to batten the hatches. But I'm not sure about this at all.
