Lyrics for Canada vs America as interpreted by pragmatic

Canada vs America Lyrics
I'm from the city of love
We don't feel loved
So closed, shut down

I met a broken cliff
Heartbroke feeling
So close shut down
I don't want this to change
It's nice to breathe in
So closed, shut down

------------------------------#chorus
Big guns are comin' out
Big guns are comin' out
Big guns, big guns
------------------------------

Don't worry one of us
Children breathe in
So closed, shut down
Kids of America
Seeming to believe in
So closed, shut down
Damn you America!
Bloody feeling
Go shut down!

#chorus

I'm from the city of love
We all don't feel loved
So closed, shut down
I don't want this to change
Tired of being loved
So go shut down!

Big guns are coming out
(Damn you America)
Big guns are coming out
(I'm from the city of love)
Big guns are coming out
Big guns, big guns

#chorus

These lyrics are nowhere close to the actual ones, which, is sort of easy to hear if you listen closely to the inflection of kevin drew's voice on the EP recording..

yeah, those lyrics are way off. the actual lyrics on the EP are:

all my friends in magazines
got addicted to the wood leaves
and they all wrote songs that they believe
little lives and massive dreams

and they all request that you slow down
and they all request that you slow down
you’ve got to turn it around
and make a save

there’s a whore inside their bed
the duvets wish that they were still wet
and all the songs they wrote instead
your ex-lover is not dead

and they all request that you slow down
you’ve got to turn it around
and make a save

all my friends in magazines
got addicted to the wood leaves
and all the songs that you believe
once they stop you can’t repeat
yeah once you stop you can’t repeat

Well, uh... thanks for giving us the lyrics to "All My Friends," versatilestyle87... but I think the song we were talking about here was Canada vs. America.

I don't know why Kevin Drew would take any shots at Amy Millan or Stars with the "Your ex-lover is not dead..." part, considering both are fronting major label success now. I know at the Indie Awards in Toronto last month a lot of bands were badmouthing Kevin and BSS for being some elitist pricks...that including one of the member of Stars.

this is my best guess at what the lyrics sound like to me:

your smile's like a cigarette
hooked on a feeling
so throw yourself down

your smile is a broken cliff
and your heart's full of cement
so throw yourself down

i don't want this chance (?)
minus the breathing (?)
so throw yourself down

the big guns are coming out
the big guns are coming out
the big guns are coming out
the big guns, the big guns, the big guns

i don't want to live
children are freezing
so throw yourself down

???
leave me for believing
so throw yourself down

???
blood and the bleeding
so throw yourself down

the big guns are coming out
the big guns are coming out
the big guns are coming out
the big guns, the big guns, the big guns

your smile's like a cigarette
it relies on this feeling
so throw yourself down

but i can't throw this chance
mine is this healing
so throw yourself down

the big guns are coming out
the big guns are coming out
the big guns are coming out
the big guns, the big guns

i have no idea.. and i wish i did.

Not to be a huge perv or anything but the lines "I met a broken cliff Heartbroke feeling" totally sound to me like "Your smile is a broken clit, heart full of semen."

.....just me?

okay, so i am definately confused..
the lyrics first posted above match my version of "canada vs. america" & the ones versatilestyle87 added are the lyrics of "all my friends"... i think that the original lyrics posted by pragmatic are much more fitting towards the title.. no?

i agree with iamtehmadhat set of lyrics rather than that guys set. i agree with kittenchowmein line "your smile is a broken clit, heartful of semen." iamtehmadhat, after the lines "i dont want to live, children are freezing, so throw yourself down" afterwards ???. I think the question marks should be something like "the cancer will regret" but thats just what I hear.

What the hell is going on!?!? This is really up in the air, I don't know which set of lyrics is right... it's such an interesting song- is it only on the Warm and Scratchy album?
