Well I've been down to Georgia
I've seen the streets in the west.
I've driven down the 90, hell I've seen America's best.
I've been through the Rockies, I've seen Saskatoon
I've driven down the highway 1 just hopin' that I'd see you soon.

'cause I'm comin' home, I'm comin' home.
I'm comin' home, I'm comin' home.
I'm comin' home, I'm comin' home.
Comin' home.

I've never been to Alaska, but I can tell you this,
I've been to Lincoln, Nebraska and hell you know it ain't worth shit.
I've been through Nova Scotia, Sydney to Halifax
I'll never take any pictures cause I know I'll just be right back.

'cause I'm comin' home, I'm comin' home.
I'm comin' home, I'm comin' home.
I'm comin' home, I'm comin' home.
IComin' home.

I've seen a palace in London, I've seen a castle in Wales
but I'd rather wake up beside you and breathe that ol' familiar smell.
I never thought you could leave me, I figured I was the one
but I understand your sadness so I guess I should just hold my tongue.

But I'm comin' home, I'm comin' home
I'm comin' home, I'm comin' home
Comin' home, I'm comin' home
Comin' home

I know that we're takin' chances, you told me life was a risk.
I just have one last question...
will it be my heart or will it be his?

Comin' home, I'm comin' home
I'm comin' home, I'm comin' home
I'm comin' home, I'm comin' home
I'm comin' home, I'm comin' home
I'm comin' home, comin' home
I'm comin' home, I'm comin' home
I'm comin' home, I'm comin' home
I'm comin' home, comin' home
I'm comin' home

General Comment:All I've gotta say is that, to me, this song applies to all of us men and women serving our country right now. I've had too many friends lose their loved ones because of the call to duty bringing them from their homes. Recently, my own relationship ended because of the distance; but all I can think of is "I'm coming home..."

General Comment:he's on the road touring with his band, hence the places, and its affecting his relationship back home. its like he's telling her to hold on just a little longer cuz he's coming, but he says "i never thought you could leave me, i figured i was the one, but i understand your saddness so i guess i should just hold my tongue." no matter how many times he says he's coming home, she's still waited for so long and she cant do it her whole life...he understands, so he figures that he might as well just "hold [his] tongue," because she'll leave anyway, because its best for her and he's willing to give up because he truly loves her and knows that waiting for him is only hurting her and he wants her happy.

This song really hits home with me...it was introduced to me by my ex, kris burich...amazing guy. and our favorite line, well mine at least, was "i never thought you could leave me, i figured i was the one, but i understand your sadness so i guess i should just hold my tongue." Those were my words of wisdom that got me through the break up alive. thank you, dallas. you saved my life.

General Comment:Dallas Green's voice box must have been touched by God Himself. Because I've never heard anybody's voice be as beautiful as his.

General Comment:I've been to Halifax for 5 weeks and I listened a lot of City and Colour there. This city is just so simple and peaceful... Like City and Colour. When I took the time to really listen to this song, it gave me shivers.
I was really glad to come back in Montreal, my home place. Halifax is WAY prettier and better than Montreal, that is for sure, but there's no place like home!

will it be my heart or will it be his?'

General Comment:my god i love this song. it makes me want to drop out of university, sell anything i have of value, move to Canada and spend my days travelling around Canada/North America. i know that he doesn't even speak of the places particularly positively but it evokes amazing images in my head and. wow. yeah. i love this song.

General Comment:I think he's just stating that he has seen dozens of beautiful places but he would still rather see her. example: I've been to Lincoln, Nebraska and hell you know it ain't worth shit. he's probably saying that everything he know has isnt worth anything now that shes with another guy. example 2:I've seen a palace in London, I've seen a castle in Wales but I'd rather wake up beside you and breathe that ol' familiar smell. he misses her.

General Comment:my ex-boyfriend just text messaged me yesterday telling me to listen to this song. i'm struggling to hold back the tears. it's like this song was written about us. i struggled to deal with the fact that his band was getting bigger and that the result was him being gone for 2, 3 months at a time with only a week or two at home for over 2 years. i finally lost all strength about 5 months ago and left him for someone else while he was on the road. despite what i did to him, we're still friends and he understands why i left. i love him dearly, but as long as he's in that band, it's too hard for me to be with him. this song is beautiful and i'm finding myself wanting to listen to it over and over again.
